Daredevil has some of the best fight choreography I have seen
Do you know other movies/shows with similar fight scenes?
+TheGamerozi apparently Old Boy has very similar fights. Also Captain America: Winter Soldier and Civil War.
+Eric Ahola Well, I watched all three of theme. Old Boy is entertaining and it also has sort of the same 'hallway' fight scene. I think the greatest aspect of this fight scenes is the realism. We can feel the less-going stamina of the characters
The Raid
This. Watch The Raid and The Raid 2: Redemption. Craziest, most amazing fight choreography I've seen. Indonesian action films directed and written by a Welsh dude, I believe. The films were made to exhibit Pencak Silat, an Indonesian fighting style. Just be warned that the sequel gets real gory sometimes, but it's still awesome.
I really love the long take fight shots in all 3 seasons. Feels like you're there.
S1: hallway fight
S2: stairwell
S3: prison hallway
He is the same guy from the elevator fight scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Go look it up!
This guy did a great job. Really got across Daredevils relentless style. He may not be the hardest hitter in the room but when you’re tired and in pain he’ll still be coming at you. Great work on a fantastic show.
Exactly! Well put and well said!
As someone finally watching the Daredevil series, that's definitely something I appreciate with each episode -- how (when either the bad guy or Daredevil gets punched) they don't always get up right away like punches are no big deal. There's some realism built in. Seeing Matt actually get tired and have to take a moment or two before getting up again just adds so much to those scenes. Seeing that the cuts and bruises aren't gone after only one scene or one episode, again adds so much more realism.
I really like this show and am sorry it didn't get renewed.
IKR. It should have been continued. Spoiler alert: they even leave room for Bullseye to recover(?) and maybe he'll be our next villain.
what must it feel like to have a job you fucking love
arrow needs to ask this guy for some references lol, I mean the action sequences used to be awesome in that show, but DD got the juice now
haha so true. the fight scenes look so rehearsed now & they're not doing a good job at hiding the stunt doubles anymore.
+Elisa Taylor buddy all fight scenes look rehearsed. even daredevil, how they attack one at a time, and the cuts aren't subtle. and yeh this guy in the video also did a fight scene for arrow
Jeffrey Mboya yeah but this looks profesional and feels real arrow is not have you seen arrows fight scenes recently it looks fake as hell
You want to see fake as hell watch Iron Fist.
Byron Verboort Anyone is talking about Iron Fist, we are talking about DD and Arrow, fanboy
Season 1: hallway fight
Season 2: stairwell fight
Season 3: Daredevil vs bullseye fight
Matt murdock vs prisoners*
The prison scene is the best
This dude made the 'hallway fight' a legendary staple on his first run, kicked ass on the second, Punisher, Defenders, yeah, keep it in, zero complaints so far.
This man deserves an award
Hope this stunt team gets the Emmy this year!
That prison hall fight one of the best choreographed fight scenes ever filmed!!
That stairwell fight was all the awesome
Daredevil is one of the best serie I've ever watched
Nice down-to-earth Guy!!! :)
Damn Cox did his own stunts, that's sick
Daredevil fight scenes are so poetic and a story within a story.
I recognize this guys. He was one of the guys captain america beat up in that elevator fight scene in winter soldier.
Yeah man, DD's fight scenes are awesome. There's no posturing or posing to make him seem heroic, because... as the whole show shows... being a vigilante is far from glamourous and it can in fact ruin your life. Not because you're a bad person, but because vigilantism is brutal. That's the same reason I like that Hawkeye comic... I can't remember the author, where he's not 'Avenging', but just being a street-level hero.
Ugh... I watched Daredevil and Punisher, a bit of Jessica Jones, and now I just can't help but laugh at other superhero movies because their fight scenes are so wallpaper-worthy.
Seems like a very nice and fun guy to work with. I love his enthusiasm and his knowledge of real fighting
Don't a damn good job. Just binged all of season 3 in one sitting. The prison hallway fight scene is amazing !
Seeing those incredible set pieces brightened kinda messes with my head. Like this isn't normal, like normally it'd be darker. Damn, this show is amazing!
Absolutely the best. The intensity of action, the intensity of acting, the quality of acting, the intensity of the situations in the movie is just unmatched. For me at least. But I know is nut just for me ;)
Funny thing about this was one of the examples of unrealistic fighting at the beginning was of a scene with Elektra's actress in it, in the yellow suit.
Whole series has best fight scenes I had ever watched
They need to bring this show back 💯
Fall/Winter of 2023.
Daredevil: Born Again
18 Episodes
No...in disney +
The rought cut looks official Too!
The cheochraphy is so awesome
You are the perfect person behind Daredevil fight scenes! ..and you can tell! Too bad everyone else wasn't on board like that,.. (with the exception of the actors who were also on board!) Hope it comes back somehow!
Please let him do the defenders fight scenes
Interesting, i saw a video with stunt man and martial artist chris brewster doing the Daredevil stunts and fights, even Charlie Cox credited Chris
It was an awesome show
Why didn't this clip and other behind the scenes stuff make the daredevil Blu-rays. the discs are barebones and could've probably used some of this material. The same way even Preacher TV series on Blu-ray, actually added some extras and whatnot.
Even i don't know how many times I've watched this
IM GONNA MISS THE FANTASTIC ACTION
Seems like a nice humble guy
ahahahahahah if you all look closely at when dormammu smashed his hand on stephen he said oh fuck before getting crushed
But s03, his fights with ageny Poindexter continually throwing stuff at him, how do you shoot that
super
funny how they showed an elektra scene from another movie.
that Eddie , the hellboy Karl , the Marietta name tag of Charles county and Cobb county
This Guy made this series Legen... Wait for it dary
he looks like the guy who plays hawkman on dc legends of tomorrow!
🔥🔥🔥
This season 3 it's just out of bounds man! SO FUCKING GOOD! Thank God for the director and who the masterpiece mind wrote this. Thanks Marvel for not being like DC! But oh wait... "Marvel it's for kids" xD fucking dc cinematic universe losers.
I was a little bored for a second.. then that stairwell scene came on and I was like WOAH! Kept me in... and the bored was prob cuz I was distracted, not cuz the show sucks.. because the show is awesome. I love Charlie Cox
what the heck is that movie at the begining?
G.I. Joe: Retaliation
Is Silvera in the Winter Soldier elevator scene?
Yes he is!
I wonder who does the actual fighting in the scenes. Since Matts face is covered, is it a stunt double, or is Charlie doing his own fighting?
Both. The stunt double does the more dangerous stuff. Charlie Cox is contractually prevented from doing anything too dangerous or life threatening, but he's said that he does as much as he can.
charlie cox can't fight ? it's stuntman all the time ?
Charlie does most of his stunts, they add the stunt double to do the moves he can't pull off like those crazy flips kicks
Master Vivs ok i
besides they train actors to pull off most of the martial arts
The performance in Marvle's Daredevil season 2 is not 100% like in the season 1. You can clearly see that some punches are not delivered, and we all know that is not supposed to actually hit, but if you can see that... if you can clearly see that it's fake... it looses it's credibility... The first encounter of Batman and Bane in the dark knight rises was the same thing... and he is the same stunt coordinator...
+Eu Mesm I'm not the same stunt coordinator from Dark Knight rises... and unfortunately the misses you're seeing comes from bad editing choices not the action design or choreography.
+Philip Silvera thanks for your answer!
You did a remarkable job!
+Philip Silvera Love the fight scenes! Hope you can dish out some crazy fight choreography for season 3!
Eu Mesm that's called bad editing, the choreography is clearly top notch, they decided to cover to certain cameras at the wrong moment, but overall the fighting is still better then most fighting in television and movies
So, it wasn't really Charlie Cox doing the fighting. It's this guy. Shit.
Amristar Charlie Cox does do some of his own stunts, but he jokingly said in an interview, "Any time Daredevil does more than one turn off the ground, that's not me."
He also said that he (and his stunts) learn all the choreography/fights, film them, they decide which one to use.
He’s doing as much stunts as he’s allowed :) plus he trains really hard for this role
Can we get Charlie Cox some more time on the mats, so when it's him boxing it kinda looks more like... you know... a real boxer?
Yeah cuz it makes perfect sense for his character to have good form... you know... having learned it as a child watching his father fight and later becoming blind therefore training from memory
I don't get the power logic behind DD teaming up with Luke Cage and Iron fist, who are way stronger than him and can see. Unless they put him in the position of a stealthy person.
+Link The Love - Daredevil is actually an equivalent level martial artist to Iron Fist. He's a trained ninja, for Christ's sake.
***** But the diff is Iron fist has supernatural powers, just like JJ and LC.
Link The Love ...and yet Daredevil has kicked his ass literally every time they've fought. Radar sense counts for a lot.
***** I understand he has heightened senses and can have instant reaction time, bit I'm comparing power levels, like Ifist has super punches. If they were put in a situation where the baddie has super strength, how can dd even face him 1v1 without environment usage.
+Link The Love well in the comics he kicked lots of people's ass who had superpowers. He is an elite ninja and has radar voice senesce which help him a lot when he fights.
I hate that DD keep using flips to attack...It looks so dumb in contrast with the show...Yeah, I know he wears red, but he is not a Power Ranger =/
it gains a LOT more momentum than it'd seem. plus if you're physically adequate and you have the enemy beaten down enough, it should work as a finisher
ainsley toledo no
+Hue Hue yes actually. That's physics. I've done MMA for 7 years now. Ainsley is completely right.
Cheveyo Pack no
+Hue Hue Hiw about stop being rude and observe what the other guys saying?
fake
This guys a nobody who thinks he is a big somebody…and it is sad.
You say that like he hasn't choreographed blockbuster films.
