Allan Brown makes a dress by hand just from the fibre of foraged stinging nettles over 7 years.
A modern day fairytale and hymn to the healing power of nature and slow craft.
Our film is a handspun labour of love too and follows him every step of the way.
'This is an exquisite film. Extremely beautiful and helpful for anyone suffering loss or grief. An inspiration'.
    Sir Mark Rylance

I feel blessed to have seen The Nettle Dress film in a cinema. It is 7 years since our amazing daughter, Amy, died. She set me 3 challenges, as a gift to help me, when she knew she was dying. One of these was to keep sewing. Your journey with fibre and textile and so much of what you shared in the film really I healing. I felt as though I was in a personal meditation during it. Thank you so much for creating and sharing The Nettle Dress. 🥰🙌👏🙏

Dear Anne, thanks so much for writing this and I can't tell you how glad we are that the film felt meditative for you, or that it gave you comfort. It makes all the years making the dress, and the film, worthwhile. Wishing you all the very best, Dylan 💚🙏

In Lithuanian folk tales the clothing from nettles symbolised the highest protection. Usually the sister is making nettle clothing as part of her task to be able to find and rescue her lost and cursed brothers. It takes her nine years to make it. Can’t wait to see the movie.

It's such a beautiful and spiritual journey and testimony for everyone believing in the power of Nature and creativity! Thank you so much for sharing it through a film. I live in France and hope I'll be able to find it somewhere.
Actually I saw your video on nettle processing several years ago while I was looking for ways to make natural yarns. Thanks to you I managed to do some. But this fabric and this amazing dress are magical ! 🙏🙏🙏

I've been called to work with nettle, and the way you speak to the plant spirit really catches my soul. I would love an opportunity to view this film in the US. I found yall through your interview on Accidental Gods and I immediately hopped over to see the dress and the fabric. I GASPED when I saw the dress. Such love, such beauty, such history and connection. You folks are a true inspiration. Sending prayers to the spirits of your beloved family passed beyond the veil 🙏
