That just proved that you can even throw bad cards into the old Druid shell and have a playable deck. Untatakah Taunt Druid was worse than normal Taunt Druid. 8 mana lose some tempo and wait for a deathrattle is bad hearthstone. Card is bad.
@@joshg2188 It's not as simple as that, the deck could go _infinite_ which is broken in some matchups but irrelevant in others it's just that usually that doesn't matter, but this doesn't mean there won't be a meta where it's very powerful.
@@joshg2188 I usually tried to save a Naturalize or a charged Spellstone, or occasionally an Obliterate, for the Undatakah. Once you had 2 in the deck you could play out Undatakah a lot more freely.
I expect that usage of Spirit of the Dragonhawk will spike when Baku is kicked out of standard and people look for ways to still use Jan'alai on turn 7. Whether its stays in there or if Jan'alai ends up non-viable without Baku is yet to be seen.

The Tiger Spirit is not as bad as people think. Sure it’s a massive throwback to play it early, but if you have one in your deck and run a decent amount of spell, particularly buff-spells (because putting a buff in the spirit is game changing) and you might just be able to summon a bunch of 2/2 in the late game or a 4/7 and 4/4 for 8 Mana with Blessing of Kings. I wouldn’t let this one slip out of the radar just yet, it’s time will come

spirit of the dead is already competitive though... maybe you're just not playing it right? because if it was whenever a minion dies what would be the point of playing any class other than priest? we'd have the same problems as when hunter over took the meta after the recent expansion.
@@arumon123 it's not, it's in no meta or tier 2 deck, and it dies to everything. I'm pretty proficient at using it in wild but I cannot pass rank 17, if I'm running it as a key card. It has to be in a deck based around card draw, and if said card is destroyed you put yourself at risk of fatigue 6 cards before your opponent. (Because you'll have loothorders drawing cards for no reason now. And it wouldn't be that bad if it was "whenever" it would just shuffle itself when it dies. It Can still be silenced and you'd still have to wait to draw it again. Now yes that change would make spirit of the dead marginally batter than the other spirits but it wouldn't make all other decks obsolete, as ANY shuffle deck loses to an agro deck if said deck is capable of lethal on turn 5 or 6. I've got the whole team of SOTD, Bwonsamdi, and other synergies, but the card just vanishes to fast, in most cases I have to pack mirage caller just so I can shuffle the spirit when it does and it still takes too long. Only 2 things would change 1) it shuffles minions killed in board clear 2)it shuffles when it dies Nothing crazy
He's how people rate cards they think of the best case scenario then the worst case scenario and what ever the most likely will happen that's the rating they'll give
I wonder if spirit of the lynx would be usable if it switched effects with Untamed Beastmaster. Directly handcuffing your beasts as you draw them as well as having the same cost as beastmaster for less stats and a +1/+1 rather than +2/+2? (I don’t remember the beast masters stats buff)
I do believe that Spirit of the Frog is a good card, its just that decks that revolve around burn rely so heavily on it they fall flat without it and decks that tech it in dont have enough spells to make it worth

it was definitely over rated, but the card is not terrible, it's druid of the scythe with more options, and druid of the scythe sees some play in spiteful druid. It's just not worth crafting a legendary. It's a bit like crystalizer that should see play over dire mole in rogue decks but doesn't because it's epic
1. The competition is too high. Some good cards may not make it to the best decks. 2. We got 6 expansions at the same time 3. Watch Purple, my personal best Tog druid player
Trump thought Moshogg Enforcer would be great with Master Oakheart. Everyone gives him crap for bad calls, but he's one of the only streamers to get that right. Also I'm blown away that anyone seriously thought the Spirit of the Lynx was going to be good.
I used the Serrated Tooth on a kind of zoo-pirate rogue that was like a control deck (yeah, it was weird af) the card is not that bad, its just a bit hard to use and you have to expect almost nothing from it, if they use a weapon removal... it's a shame but it's not that bad, also it makes a good 3 mana combo with the hero power to give rush to all your minions, i don't know, i liked it :P
Shaman spirit is actually really strong in wild agro spell overload shaman. Being able to draw 5 cards per round on agro deck that has roughly 24 face damage in spells alone is kinda a big deal (it can go higher due to discover factor too)
I think the spirits and undatakah are still to find a more potent synergy in standard - more likely to happen with the adventure and one expansion or two - and might be too soon to say it
I saw someone on the hearthstone subreddit bet 1000$ that pirate rouge would be tier 1 on lol (it wasnt and he donated it to charity). I had also seen other people also think that pirate rouge or even rouge would be good and some people crafted a golden hooktusk
5:05 I have a standard pirate rogue deck that uses Serrated Tooth and it is decent. I dont think it was Overrated, but i wouldn't say it is bad. I mean, there are many pirates in the game with weapon synergies and the Tooth is a 1 mana weapon for rogue.
All spirit cards should have been totems, this way it opens it up for Shaman to have a totem themed deck and cards that could discover a totem or summon a random totem.
Really just want to comment on those new Year of the Dragon changes. But absolutely, videos and scripting take time. Rastakhan has been a fun expansion, I honestly got a lot of fun out of a Priest Zombie deck. Wish Druid went somewhere but then they got some heft nerfs, Hunter did pretty well early on and OTKO Paladin was more of a thing.
you can't argue with this logic tho. Maybe you were lucky to pull it off in most circumstances but for me it always flopped going against anything that wasn't aggro. He is underestimating the fact that u can break it at anytime with hero power which does make it alot more playable.

You miss a very important card that peole under rated highly there bud? Yes you did , MASTERS CALL , how'd you miss that ? Everyone said itll never work in any hunter deck , and here we are , in hunterstone caused by masterscall and masterscall alone , the beast hunter deck literally does not work without it
I don't know about the spirits being useless. I get creamed by priest decks using Spirit of the Dead all the time. Also, I'm of the view that there is no worthless card, simply synergies that either have yet to be discovered with the current cards, or will become available in an expatiation or two. That's one of the reasons I love wild. So many more useful cards because of so many possible synergies.

That's mostly because all good Druid decks run some Oaken Summons synergy, which obviously makes Loti awful.

In regards to the Spirit cards, Dragonhawk and Frog has seen competitive play in Wild, in Even Mage and Burn Shaman (respectively).
I agree with waiting on Da Undatakah. I think it's a really strong card that could be really good given the right support.

Dah undertaker is an interesting card, it’s power swinging wildly from broken to useless depending on the game.

It's actually not very strong in anything, it's never in the top half of the cards (HS replay, sort by drawn winrate)

hooktusk is extremely good
pirate rogue and even rogue are both above 50% winrate, with the good lists consistently going around 57%

We also got a neutral totem in Rastakhan's Rumble (Serpent Ward), so introducing more totem synergy wouldn't have been a bad idea.
