Not every day looks like in this episode. And not every day Arny is so peaceful and tranquil. But I can say one thing -this dog changed my life and my daily routines completely. He brings so much happiness and love.
Once, I realized that the quality of my life with a dog is fully in my hands. And if I give Arny a sufficient amount of exercise and play-time - it improves his behavior completely and everyone in the family feels comfortable during the day.
I am happy to share with you tiny parts of life with Giant Schnauzer. I wish you enjoyed this Episode and it brought more positive moments to your day.

I want one of these dogs so badly! My uncle has one who I watch for him quite often and she is like this with me and I feel like she’s my dog even though she’s not. I am her god mother though, I will inherit her if something happens to my uncle even over his daughters because she’s so close to me. I love that dog. Sadly she could never conceive despite my uncle trying to breed her to his bouvier and she got ovarian cancer and luckily is okay but had to have a hysterectomy so she can’t breed anymore. It’s so sad she’d of had amazing puppies. That was the whole reason my uncle got her to begin with. But it just wasn’t meant to be I guess.

@@my.giant.schnauzers my male miniature is the boss over my standard and they are the best of friends. I always just had 1 dog and so pleased I have added more. 3 is my max though.

It was wonderful to see your routine, I live with my black standard schnauzer Brisa (Breeze) in Aracaju Brazil (a small coast city in northeast), and she behaves very much like your boy. A lovelly companion and guardian. Wish you guys a good life and joyful moments!

I don’t think this video is a fair representation of Giant Schnauzers, in general. These are very high energy dogs. I walked my Giant 2-3 miles per day and let her play twice a day in the back yard. We were not able to work from home. Sadly, we had to re-home her.
Yes, schnauzers in general need A LOT, of play time. Or a play mate with the same energy level for them to keep each other company.

I read an article that raised dishes can cause bloat in dogs. Not sure if it's true. I noticed his water dish.

So he dosent appear to be a handful is he this calm all the time ?
Most of the time but ONLY in case we walk at least 1.5 hours per day and he has exercise+games about 3-4 times/week.
If you let his energy and craziness go out in a proper way, the dog is pure love :)
Of course, when he was a puppy he did not behave like that, he tried to explore everything and everyone 24/7:)
Oh so that’s y all the owners say their a lot to deal with as a puppy

Before (till 6 months old) Arny was crazier and from time to time did not give us sleep well 😁

Thought adult dogs should be given only one big meal a day?
Depending on your schedule :) our breeder suggested we give food twice a day, but said that it is ok to split his portion per 3 times

When he was a pup, he lived on a farm and they feated dogs with their own farm products.
Why dry food? Why not fresh?

I believe that fresh food is much better if you can buy good quality food or you live close to the farm.
Anyway, we decided to feed him with dry food from the very beginning due to personal reasons and past experience.
Why did you crop the ears and dock the tail? Very sad.
It was done before we take him.
