As much as he's a religious fanatic, the High Sparrow speech about stripping away the gold and statues is absolutely fantastic, and Jonathan Pryce just plays it so well.
Yeah so far the High Sparrow has been an excellent villain. He got Cersi to arm the Faith militant, arrested Loras and Margary, faced down Lady Olena, and betrayed and imprisoned Cersi. So far he’s undefeated
"I dreamed that I was old" is such a beautiful final line. It implies a peaceful afterlife to me. RIP Maester Aemon, the only character in GOT to die of natural causes.
@Polo-wk7zl dunk and egg would be hard to fumble is a relatively small story. It's not like asoiaf where the books are so massive the show literally even if it was 15 seasons wouldn't be able to fit everything in it.
17:40 You don't want mess wiht Ghost! Not the first time Ghost has protected Sam and Gilly! A white, large wolf with red eyes... there's simply nothing better in a show like this! I love it!
Dany notices is that when Jorah walks onto the field, he isn’t killing anyone.. knocking them out at worst because he knows she doesn’t like the killing. And she watches him walk through everyone with ease
Stefi's sad smile when Aemond showed up on screen and she remembered what happens to him this episode. :( Also... "I would have said "keep it in your pants but that would give it away."... again, never change Lindsay. Also also... Ashley's wide smile at that cute scene between Sam and Gilly. One of the cutest of the show and I'm glad they saw the real beauty and vulnerability of the moment beyond the comedy of it.
Okay so if I'm following Lindsay correctly, baelish and Varys are working together since day one (even though they've been actively working against eachother since day one) and own the high sparrow/Faith militants and instructed them to shut down baelish's highly profitable businesses. Then Varys also owns Gendry, who's being paid to somehow infiltrate Stannis' camp for no reason. And because Barristan made a face at Lorras that one time, he's obviously been paid by Varys to assassinate Dany. It's all so clear and makes total sense! /S 😂😅
37:00 Lindsay, look around for anyone doing a stage, screen or audio of "Wicked" or "The Wizard of Oz". If you put a little growl into that cackle, you could be a huge hit. That was beautifully sinister.
Oh my goodness. I’m about to take a little midmorning nap. Waking up and being up for an hour and a half is hard. But I wanted to comment and like on the video to boost you in the algorithm. But I can’t wait to wake up later and watch. Things are heating up deliciously this season
9:57 Lindsay - "I was going to say put it in your pants, but then that would give it away." Or they might think he is John Wick ... and not the puppy killer ... you know ... because of the candle wick ... um ... I'll just let myself out ....
Ahhhh Lindsay, such deep deep deep theories. The collusion of Little finger and Varis. Love it. ------- As Little finger and Lady Olena plot to have Geoffrey killed. Varis helps Tyrion escape Kings Landing. -------- Deep seats chess moves from the best GOT players.
Lindsay, could we leave The on alone. His favorite you was taken away and sent to his father. ------- Your vision of the candle in Theon's trousers did give me the best chuckle of the episode. ------- Okay, Sam humping Gilly was way more funny, but your quip was good. Great comment as always.
Ashley, your astute insights on the High Sparrow is awesome. -------- Religious zealots are always loyal to the assumption of power in service of the population piety. ------- Ashley knows their ways, she may not know how far they are going to take it. Great analysis Ashley. Keep up the awesome GOT chess moves. You are becoming a top level GOT player. --------- Now if you could only outwit Ramsey.
In this episode A gift for the queen A gift for the queen regent A gift for the queen of thorns The gifts are Olyvar for Cersei Lancel for Olenna Tyrion for Daenerys Next episode A gift for the thin man
And also, Jon mentions to Tormund that the wildlings will be able to settle The Gift, which is the land just south of the wall. It got it's name because Bran The Builder gave it as a gift to the Nights Watch so they could farm and work the land in order to supply the Nights Watch with food and supplies. So naturally, they called it "The Gift" lol. Very creative 😂
I can’t wait to see next week’s Hardhome episode with y’all. I especially like the scenes between Danaerys and Tyrion they are so well written. However, after that episodes 9 and 10 have some pretty horrific stuff going on. I really wonder if Ashley and Lindsey will want to continue watching after they finish this dark season. You’re gonna have to be their moral support into season six.
I play this game called Crusader Kings 3 and there exists a fantastic Game of Thrones mod for it. I just might be inclined to create House Mugshotz there and have the motto be Cackles & Claws 😂
I want A Knight Of The Seven Kingdom to come out already, not only because it's my favorite book that Martin has made but also because Maester Aemon is in it.
@@jeffbachman2949 i also think 6 episodes is perfect time for this story, the first game of thrones book had about 300,000 words. the first knight of the seven kingdoms book had 32,000.i am a little conserved that they might overcorrect and add too much material but we will see.
Lindsay the Unquestionable, Queen of Augury, Khalisee of the Great Guess Sea, Breaker of Theories and Mother of Prognostication. Such excellent predictions such terrible predictions. Who can tell which? Watch and see!!!
Hey Ashley, we told you to be careful rejoicing too much when Geoffrey was taken out. Another worse villain may rise. ------- Now meet Ramsey Bolton, bastard, expert at peeling old lady skin and removal of body parts. -------- It's funny to see you wish for the simple days of Geoffrey.
I’m confused.. I would think that Lancel would have already confessed his sins weeks if not months ago since he’s been part of the faith for a good while now, it seems unlikely that he only just now revealed that info about Cersei
Buenas Tardes Amigas, Great Chapter full of gifts, Jorah's gift, the slaver's coin gift to Tyrion, Littlefinger's gift, Eli's gift, and the fanatical Sparrow's gift to the viewers 🖤❄&🔥´♬ Steph; From now on my feelings towards Cercei change little by little until I end up loving her in Winds of Winter, it is incredible that the High Sparrow is capable of changing my feelings
It’s funny how we all seem to root for Jorah or ‘slave-bear’ as he’s known in some parts of the fandom! I wonder if we’d feel the same if he were played by an actor who resembled his book persona as opposed to Irish Zoolander? An unrepentant slaver who fled rather than face Ned Stark, not to mention being disowned by his family and also a spy…
Great reaction as always, please, when you get to episode 9,don't cut the part when Sheereen talks about the Dance of the Dragons, there are no spoilers there.
Tommen is a trusting soul, wanting to believe that what a person says is the truth of the matter. That has always been me. And I hate myself for it. I have only myself to blame for not seeing through people's lies......rather, for failing to accept them as lies. I see the lies (now), and I still find myself wanting to believe in the person. That is the hardest thing to get passed.....that desire to trust. All language has ever brought, is the ability to deceive. It has brought deception, and seduction, and war. And Tommen wants to believe that language has brought peace and understanding.
If the high septon really wanted to be religious about things......life is a punishment, and the Lady made the point of it. When she stops sending food, and the people starve, it would be the gods punishing the people. Olenna stepped in to prevent natural justice, by providing food for the people. She takes that away, and the gods' judgement resumes. The hell that is brought about by life is punishment, it doesn't take the hand of man to inflict the gods' punishment. It takes the hand of man to interfere with the gods' judgement. Man makes it lighter or worse, but at any rate, it ceases to be the judgement of the gods. Life is hell, and just because some people have found a way to be happy in their "punishment" doesn't mean that they are no longer being punished. And any God who would punish a man for their crimes, is not worthy of worship. First off, a man is like an ant, comparitively, to a god. Does a man punish an ant for something? No. Furthermore, people are simply influenced by their surroundings, and can't go against how they are being influenced. We all cave to the heart. If a god is truly a god, and worthy of worship, that God would take away the influence, and allow us to act independently, which has never been done.....or, the God would be merciful, for the sake of mercy, not because he/she did or didn't accept something. "I am allowing these influences to exist and continue, so, really, these people are not guilty. Even if they don't know me, and have never heard of me, I will grant them peace and salvation when it is all said and down, because they have no choice." Sorry mugshots alot of my comments aren't meant to be taken literally. God bless you I have a friend who also has cancer right now it's nice to see you all together !
I never understood Littlefingers role in offering Lancel to Olenna and the High Sparrow and why that would've lead to Cerseis arrest. If the High Sparrow arrested Cersei because Lancel admitted to having an affair with her, why didn't Lancel say this to the High Sparrow long before Littlefinger shows up? This feels like something Lancel would've told the High Sparrow as soon as he became one of the sparrows. I don't see how Littlefinger and Olenna are involved in this?
Remember that the Faith Militans/Sparrows were pratically nothing before Cersei gave them the power and backed them. She literally gave them an army. So wthout her they would have no power so I cannot see how Baelish would be controling them. But I'm gonna say this, Lindsay would be a much better writer than D & D. 😆 Esp. spoilers what she mentioned about Littlefinger and Varys after this far reaching plan. I was like "yes, yes that would have been cool!". lol I would have liked this to have been the case with both pulling the strings but against each other. RIP Maester Aemon, the only character in GOT to die of natural causes.
Hoster Tully died of natural causes.
Aemon is the 🐐
Sadly, the actor (Peter Vaughan) passed irl as well...about a year and a half after this episode was televised.
There is one other major character whose cause of death was arguably very old age, but to say more would be spoilers :)
Cat's father died of old age too, but I guess he doesn't count as a character, since we never met him
Maester Aemon was one of the last pure souls in this show... So happy that HBO gave the green light to Dunk and Egg!
One of the best deaths of the series.
@@jeffbachman2949Yep. He died naturally of old age surrounded by people who loved him. A very good way to die.
