I love that Aaron has pushed for a super supportive skateboarding community. Especially when I see them go to the skateparks and get super hyped over people trying "basic" stuff even if they don't make any trick. It's super heartwarming. I grew up pretty intimidated by the skateparks or when there were "real" skaters around when I was practicing in the neighborhood. It was always awesome when the best skaters at the park lifted others up rather than tear them down.
Exactly, we need to support one another and every skater is awesome, no matter where they are in their journey. More skaters, less haters!

Ah yes. 43, 3 months in and already built a 2' halfpipe in the basement. Furtive and creaky all day long.
Thank you Aaron for giving me the courage to go to skatepark and not to care about those few bullies there that are calling me a dad or a boomer and too old to learn. Let's keep the community positive! It's never too late to start!

one thing i see a lot of beginners do is not get comfortable riding on the board and go straight to tricks i see this so much at my park

Watching Chloe slowly progress and get over her fears is awesome! Keep at it! Still way better than me and I've longboarded for 3 years. I can barely ollie but I'm going to try this summer. I'm 23 and I used to skate as a kid but forgot almost everything 🤣

Yo I feel it on beginning skating is the hardest. It would take me months to learn new tricks. The time you taught Chloe to kickflip you said one little tip that made my kicklfips waaay more consistent and within a week I learned half cab flip, fakie blindside flip, and backside flip!! Started skating at 22 now im 26 and I finally feel like a skater lmao

Way to go Chloe! I had emergency surgery on Saturday so I'm not allowed to exercise for 4 weeks. Tomorrow will be 1 week. Your video hyped me up (even though I'm stuck on the couch). I try to explain to people that a manual or riding off a curb is a lot more in the front foot in my opinion. If your back foot is already on the tail then all you gotta do is lift the front slightly

I've been skating for years and this happened to me the other day 😅 went to manual off a curb and back foot slipped off back, did half splits and managed to knee both the ground and my own jaw in the process of falling, was kinda spectacular

The funny thing is that I learned how to ollie by practising a gallop on flat ground too LOL

When i was learning someone told me to go into a crouching position like i was hiding and then to shoot up towards the sky for an ollie. It really helped and after that i always make sure im crouched and as close to the ground as i can get so i have enough power to ollie. Thats where most of her mistakes are is shes not putting any power behind her pop. Keep skatin,90% of this sport is mental. Keep your mind clear and you can do anything!
