- "The Philippine Gold: Treasures of Forgotten Kingdoms" exhibit in New York opened its doors to the public, Friday.
Dozens of celebrities and high profile guests from New York and the Philippines came and were awed by the glittering exhibit including former U.S. Aid Director Henrietta Fore, Filipino Billionaire Oscar Lopez, Tony winner Lea Salonga among many others.

Indeed, the Philippines is blessed with gold! Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao all have gold mines. Sadly, much of our gold were stolen by foreigners.
Antonio Pigaffeta described in his diary that the natives are almost naked but the adorned themselves with gold. Gold was part of our culture. We wear them to ward off evil spirits or sickness. We even used it as part our houses. These facts should be taught in school.
