I feel for Dorothea, she doesn't have to be strong, maybe just in love. It's been Alot of years now, I doubt if she'd ever divorce if she's also Catholic, but he needs to watch his step now. He's not the good looking god and doesn't have the voice anymore. These are the years he will really need her to keep him going. But I think he's realized that, hopefully .
