Keep your head up! Most of us in the trucking industry have been in your EXACT position. It's tough. Way tougher to navigate this industry than many realize. I've been near bankrupt several times, all of those times due to old trucks with yellow engines. Get yourself something a little newer or find a really reputable shop to fix your truck. Those are the only options. If trucking is your money maker get it right and go trucking, forget the gimmick. If the gimmick is your money maker, push the gimmick and It wont matter what truck is under all that black paint. We like what youre doing out here, and you have a big following....use that to your advantage!!

Man I had a similar thing happen when I started my company. Bought an old truck. A month in it seized up. Bought a used motor because that’s all I could afford and four months later it dropped a piston. I shoved it out in the weeds and borrowed some money to buy another one. Don’t give up. This industry can kick you down so hard but you have the ability to get back up and kick it back!

Stay in course. I just got my truck from an inframe job invested 30k money I don't have. 1st job after the build, truck smoking white smoke. Took it in to the shop I invest 5k to replace 2 injectors. Shop said maybe the injectors are bad from the box. I run the truck again after the injectors being replaced 1st trip still smokes white smoke. Still dealing with it. Trying to figure out going through the whole engine sensors and all it's different systems. I believe it will pay up one day man. Stay strong.

If it were easy everyone would do it been a owner op 9 years and those time when they are tough they tough I blew my motor in Feb of 2020 spent all my money and some just to find out covid would shut everything down following month. Dammit dude, sorry to learn of your tough luck. I know from my personal journey truckin' is very good when it's good and Hellish when it's bad. It can be really tough on us small, one truck operation guys and the big outfits don't want us to exist at all so there are not many breaks out there. I know that when things turn bad we tend to play everything in our mind over and over and we get to feelin' pretty damn low. We doubt our knowledge, our instinct, and our ability to make it work, but no good can come from thinkin' that way. If we cannot pull ourselves outta the dumps we need to get with people who can bring us up. It can be a sibling, a parent, a therapist, a wife, girlfriend, or buddy...it doesn't matter who it is, so long as we get outta the low side. Once you feel better start compiling information about what could be your next chapter in life. I'll be honest with ya, if you signed for the engine and accepted payment for damages the law calls that "Accord and Settlement" and it would be damn near impossible to get anywhere chasin' them for anything. Check with a lawyer if ya need to. Once that has been established, put it behind ya, call it a lesson learned, and never give it any more of your time or energy again. If ya wanna stay rollin' as an owner-op gather the info needed, also gather info for drivin' someone else's rig, if ya wanna consider something else gather that info. Once you're armed with information answer any relevant questions you can come up with, create pro and con columns, be honest with yourself and make a decision. Whatever you decide throw your best into it and when other opportunities present themselves give them honest consideration (if we can't be honest with ourselves we've got even bigger problems). If you are gonna run someone else's truck to build some capital toward getting another of your own give the situation another honest reevaluation when you think it's time to jump back in (with fuel priced as it is it's better if someone else is payin' the bill heh, heh). I think we might share the whole thing about runnin' our own biz, bein' individual and expressin' ourselves and our creativity so I might have an idea of where you're comin' from. And heck if it does u might have to come to nc but.. my uncle has some nice older wagons that I’m sure i could get u a deal in.. u could pull just power only for a while.. jump n a truck for someone else and let your rest a while till funds get back but.. the world wasn’t built n a day.! I'm about done also. these rates and fuel have crushed me. took 6 months out of my truck to drive my days truck for wages to help keep them going while he was hurt. now got mine back on the road and was looking good till March. now can't afford my plate

Buddy i have been there 3 times with these trucks all were yellow motors all ending in rebuilding then bankruptcy got in company truck brushed my self off regrouped started over finally got a series 60 detroit 11.1 L and i make money bank money and just keep my old 94 fld 120 going 1,900,000 on truck was rebuilt at 1 mil have 900 k on motor i will never own another yellow motor oh by the way im 62 years old and grew up in trucking not an easy life but in my blood and can't stop Hope you the best At what ever you do

Dammit dude, sorry to learn of your tough luck. I know from my personal journey truckin' is very good when it's good and Hellish when it's bad. It can be really tough on us small, one truck operation guys and the big outfits don't want us to exist at all so there are not many breaks out there. I know that when things turn bad we tend to play everything in our mind over and over and we get to feelin' pretty damn low. We doubt our knowledge, our instinct, and our ability to make it work, but no good can come from thinkin' that way. If we cannot pull ourselves outta the dumps we need to get with people who can bring us up. It can be a sibling, a parent, a therapist, a wife, girlfriend, or buddy...it doesn't matter who it is, so long as we get outta the low side. Once you feel better start compiling information about what could be your next chapter in life. I'll be honest with ya, if you signed for the engine and accepted payment for damages the law calls that "Accord and Settlement" and it would be damn near impossible to get anywhere chasin' them for anything. Check with a lawyer if ya need to. Once that has been established, put it behind ya, call it a lesson learned, and never give it any more of your time or energy again. If ya wanna stay rollin' as an owner-op gather the info needed, also gather info for drivin' someone else's rig, if ya wanna consider something else gather that info. Once you're armed with information answer any relevant questions you can come up with, create pro and con columns, be honest with yourself and make a decision. Whatever you decide throw your best into it and when other opportunities present themselves give them honest consideration (if we can't be honest with ourselves we've got even bigger problems). If you are gonna run someone else's truck to build some capital toward getting another of your own give the situation another honest reevaluation when you think it's time to jump back in (with fuel priced as it is it's better if someone else is payin' the bill heh, heh). I think we might share the whole thing about runnin' our own biz, bein' individual and expressin' ourselves and our creativity so I might have an idea of where you're comin' from. Don’t give up man! If I had given up when I got disabled.. I’d been dead.. I know how this stuff works! But dude the trucking thing will take back off.. u got this man! And heck if it does u might have to come to nc but.. my uncle has some nice older wagons that I’m sure i could get u a deal in.. u could pull just power only for a while.. jump n a truck for someone else and let your rest a while till funds get back but.. the world wasn’t built n a day.! I miss the heck out of trucking.. probably not s day that goes by that I don’t.. u don’t realize things until they r gone.. just like with my accident.. before I could do anything.. now I’m a couch potato! But it’s not by choice.. the more I more with the spinal cord damage the more I hurt… drs have said they can’t do nothing else for me.. but the shaft has never broken on a truck. how can this happen? mhh...

I'm about done also. these rates and fuel have crushed me. took 6 months out of my truck to drive my days truck for wages to help keep them going while he was hurt. now got mine back on the road and was looking good till March. now can't afford my plate

Buddy i have been there 3 times with these trucks all were yellow motors all ending in rebuilding then bankruptcy got in company truck brushed my self off regrouped started over finally got a series 60 detroit 11.1 L and i make money bank money and just keep my old 94 fld 120 going 1,900,000 on truck was rebuilt at 1 mil have 900 k on motor i will never own another yellow motor oh by the way im 62 years old and grew up in trucking not an easy life but in my blood and can't stop Hope you the best At what ever you do
