I loved that part :) It's just such a simple logic that works perfectly, if you play as usual and don't abuse it for speedruns. But even then it's amazing to see...
Does anyone know how to make screenshots in Gothic2(without the Copy+Paste into Paint thingy). Something in settings or .ini file to enable Print Screen which would automatically save the screenshots into Gothic 2 directory or something?
@@bolerobolero5668 Normally if you have the systempack installed and have the game on steam you should be able to use the steam overlay so screenshots are possible with F12. If it isn't working then try installing D3D11 renderer and try again. Also you can always ask such question in the gothic forum of your EU country. There are always main ones. If you aren't from one of these you can just ask in the english one.
Vatian This game is a very nice part in my life. For me its the best game cuz the story and the big world and the very nice little details. It is a game which the end is very sad cuz. If it end you think : "NO I WILL KEEP PLAYING" :D. So yes....

Scar These are broken game mechanics. Just like left click spamming on unpatched version where blocking doesn't really work. Both of these don't change the fact that 2/3 wolves can destroy you in melee if you're not extremely careful.

Nachdem das Spiel auf Deutsch gespielt wurde, geh ich davon aus das du Deutscher bist. Also erstmal vielen Dank für deine großen Bemühungen uns diesen Augenschmaus geboten zu haben. Das Spiel an dem ich Stunden über Stunden reingepumpt habe, hast du in ner halben Stunde durch. Ich hörte leider nach dem Minental damals auf, weil das Spiel den übelsten aller Datenfehler hatte. Seit DNdR war es wieder spielbar. Und du hast mich überzeugt das ich es nochmal versuchen sollte. Vielen Dank und alles Gute!
ich finde das echt unglaublich, wie du das so souverän gemeistert hast! Ich hab sogar bei jedem Moment mitgezählt und komme selbst soweit nur auf ca. 12 Sekunden, die man evtl. schneller machen hätte können, aber das liegt mal in den Sternen... dennoch unglaublich
Die größten Ersparnisse in Speedruns ergeben sich halt meist nicht aus der Perfektion einzelner Sekunden, sondern im Finden "neuer" glitches oder Wege, welche ganze Handlungszweige hinfällig machen.

I love Gothic 1 and 2 for their immersive atmosphere and the intelligent enemy placing to give some kind of natural borders in its world. Kai Rosenkranz simply delivered on his part. The combat system is responsible for the best and worst parts of the games :D the better u can exploit it the further u mastered it. The world just invites u to explore it and manages to always reward you for doing so even if it is "just" another shroom u find by accident. This run through just delivers by showing us a lot if not all of the different techniques to abuse the combat/aggro system and dialogue events etc all in all a realy decent video :)
Einfach nur gut. Schade, dass so viele Leute die Bemerkungen ausschalten oder nicht lesen und dich des Cheatens bezichtigen. Sehr geiler Speedrun, mir gefiel vor allem, dass du einen Drachen tot geboxt hast. Sehr unterhaltsam =D

I find it hilarious that you managed to finish the Expansion faster than the Classic game :) It shows you've improved some things along the way to make this happen (one major factor might as well be the black ore glitch, an item not present in the classic version), along with choosing this order of actions to make the run as efficient as possible. On another note, unlike many other speedrunners, you also try to mention (as much as possible) the tricks you used & what they do. From my perspective, that’s admirable. But, I have some questions though: 1. The sheep trick was pretty neat, but makes me wonder: why in your “Classic” run you’ve done the same thing guildless, but in “NotR” you had to use this strategy? Was it because the addon allowed you to join the Militia by destroying the Thieves’ Guild (feature of which you took advantage of early in the game), thus having you find a solution about it to avoid the extra quest? 2. In the “Classic” run, when you went to recover the repaired “Eye of Innos”, did you perform the same save/load trick as in “NotR”, but didn’t show up in the video due to your mention in the description? [“The video would not show all the action since some of it would be hidden behind the loading screen.”] To me, it just looked like a video cut. 3. If possible, can you explain me how does the portal work for you after clipping through the closed gate? You told me on your “Classic” speedrun that it was possible without the rings, and as we can all see - it’s working. I remember trying this like quite some years ago, but using the cheat code, to see what it happens (I think you could teleport behind walls/doors by pressing ‘k’) & for me it was a black corridor there, no portal. What triggers the opening of the portal behind that gate? 4. And as a fun fact, it seems you’ve also chosen another strategy (as a form of speaking, since you’ve still used the save/load on purpose in both runs) for talking to Torlof at the end as well, as you killed those two orcs this time. Is it because you prayed to that darn Beliar that made you so much more violent towards his creatures? :) PS: 4:02 - 4:06 gets me every time. How the heck does that ‘wall clipping’ teleport you up?! All in all, congratulations on your feat!
Portal animation or no animation, traditionally baricaded entrances to forbidden locations work no mater how you got there, see the true orc city in the first Gothic, the one that was excluded from the release, the abandoned location inside the mine near the exchange place, that is later used to travel to Khorinis in Gothic II. Maybe you just didn't go all the way to the invisible wall, or you were on the wrong floor level?
Czarna ruda zmniejsza dwukrotnie prędkość wszystkich istot w pobliżu poza Bezim, a po zakończeniu działania przyspiesza je dwukrotnie oprócz Beziego. Jeśli Bezimienny zamieni się w potwora, nie będzie już uznawany za Bezimiennego z uwagi na inną postać niż "pc_hero" i zostanie przyspieszony dwukrotnie, mimo tego, że uprzednio nie był spowolniony. Efekt działa do momentu wczytania gry.

Die Zeit müsste ab Kapitel 5 eigentlich in -1:29:00 angegeben sein, weil -1:29 wären Ja nur eine Sekunde und 29 Hundertstel (so wie bei Valley of Mines). Sonst sehr schönes Video, hat viele Erinnerungen geweckt :)
Sure, but then you have no way to defeat the Undead Dragon. And you need to speak to the ship's captain if you want to finish the game, but the only way to get a captain is to reach chapter 5.
Beautiful run. And nice explanations for the parts that weren't very obvious aswell. One question tho - how come you can just go talk to all the dragons in a row without charging up your eye of innos? Doesn't it normally need a dragons heart and an alchemy table to speak to the next dragon?
I think it has something to do with him dropping the eye of innos between dialogs. If you look closely you can see him dropping it and taking it up after the fight.

I think I can make a few useless marks which might save only a few seconds(nevermind, just one thing). A played the game a bit forever ago and more recently I've played it for 217 hours in steam, I was playing as a mage and still haven't finished the damn game. No, I wasn't starting over and I even avoided the bugs which fuck up the game. I just wanted to see everything and hear every line from every char as a mage or whatever. Anyway... When you first met Diego in the valley, I thought you gonna go infront of him so you don't have to wait for the animation of him standing up. Also, the invincibility flag on the firedragon? Like, you're not supposed to kill him when you don't have the amulet of innos or whatever?

Wow, this is impressive beyond words. Only two save-loads, and both on purpose - you literally do no mistakes on such a high pace of game-playing! The one thing I didn't get is how you killed the Ice Dragon and the subsequent dragons without recharging the Eye of Innos. Can you please explain that? Did Piranhas simply forget to check for recharges or did you use any specific bug?

Awesome job. Awesome game. I looked at it and remembered the time when people really did games because they loved to do games. Now it is only about money. No game better then Gothic II. Its masterpiece.

Das geht über 3 Tage und dort zocken halt viele verschiedene Speedrunner ihre Games und sammeln dort Spenden für einen guten Zweck :D Dieser Jahr wars die deutsche Krebshilfe. Ich hab dort leider Gothic Speedruns vermisst :( Kannst es dir ja überlegen :D
Ja auf GermanRestream, da spielt du das dann praktisch auf den Channel dort musst dich halt dafür bewerben :D Das geht über 7 tage und sind halt Speedrunner aus ganz Deutschland

I literally NEVER used transformation spells to become a Monster before. This Game will never be the same for me.

I find it hilarious that you managed to finish the Expansion faster than the Classic game :) It shows you've improved some things along the way to make this happen (one major factor might as well be the black ore glitch, an item not present in the classic version), along with choosing this order of actions to make the run as efficient as possible. On another note, unlike many other speedrunners, you also try to mention (as much as possible) the tricks you used & what they do. From my perspective, that’s admirable.
But, I have some questions though:
1. The sheep trick was pretty neat, but makes me wonder: why in your “Classic” run you’ve done the same thing guildless, but in “NotR” you had to use this strategy? Was it because the addon allowed you to join the Militia by destroying the Thieves’ Guild (feature of which you took advantage of early in the game), thus having you find a solution about it to avoid the extra quest?
2. In the “Classic” run, when you went to recover the repaired “Eye of Innos”, did you perform the same save/load trick as in “NotR”, but didn’t show up in the video due to your mention in the description? [“The video would not show all the action since some of it would be hidden behind the loading screen.”] To me, it just looked like a video cut.
3. If possible, can you explain me how does the portal work for you after clipping through the closed gate? You told me on your “Classic” speedrun that it was possible without the rings, and as we can all see - it’s working. I remember trying this like quite some years ago, but using the cheat code, to see what it happens (I think you could teleport behind walls/doors by pressing ‘k’) & for me it was a black corridor there, no portal. What triggers the opening of the portal behind that gate?
4. And as a fun fact, it seems you’ve also chosen another strategy (as a form of speaking, since you’ve still used the save/load on purpose in both runs) for talking to Torlof at the end as well, as you killed those two orcs this time. Is it because you prayed to that darn Beliar that made you so much more violent towards his creatures? :)
PS: 4:02 - 4:06 gets me every time. How the heck does that ‘wall clipping’ teleport you up?!
All in all, congratulations on your feat!
Portal animation or no animation, traditionally baricaded entrances to forbidden locations work no mater how you got there, see the true orc city in the first Gothic, the one that was excluded from the release, the abandoned location inside the mine near the exchange place, that is later used to travel to Khorinis in Gothic II. Maybe you just didn't go all the way to the invisible wall, or you were on the wrong floor level?

Czarna ruda zmniejsza dwukrotnie prędkość wszystkich istot w pobliżu poza Bezim, a po zakończeniu działania przyspiesza je dwukrotnie oprócz Beziego. Jeśli Bezimienny zamieni się w potwora, nie będzie już uznawany za Bezimiennego z uwagi na inną postać niż "pc_hero" i zostanie przyspieszony dwukrotnie, mimo tego, że uprzednio nie był spowolniony. Efekt działa do momentu wczytania gry.

Die Zeit müsste ab Kapitel 5 eigentlich in -1:29:00 angegeben sein, weil -1:29 wären Ja nur eine Sekunde und 29 Hundertstel (so wie bei Valley of Mines). Sonst sehr schönes Video, hat viele Erinnerungen geweckt :)

Sure, but then you have no way to defeat the Undead Dragon. And you need to speak to the ship's captain if you want to finish the game, but the only way to get a captain is to reach chapter 5.

Beautiful run. And nice explanations for the parts that weren't very obvious aswell. One question tho - how come you can just go talk to all the dragons in a row without charging up your eye of innos? Doesn't it normally need a dragons heart and an alchemy table to speak to the next dragon?
I think it has something to do with him dropping the eye of innos between dialogs. If you look closely you can see him dropping it and taking it up after the fight.
That's exactly it man. I visited his twitch stream yesterday and asked him there and that's exactly what he said. Good eye, though, that totally slipped my attention. And thanks for answering.

I think I can make a few useless marks which might save only a few seconds(nevermind, just one thing). A played the game a bit forever ago and more recently I've played it for 217 hours in steam, I was playing as a mage and still haven't finished the damn game. No, I wasn't starting over and I even avoided the bugs which fuck up the game. I just wanted to see everything and hear every line from every char as a mage or whatever. Anyway...
When you first met Diego in the valley, I thought you gonna go infront of him so you don't have to wait for the animation of him standing up.
Also, the invincibility flag on the firedragon? Like, you're not supposed to kill him when you don't have the amulet of innos or whatever?

Wow, this is impressive beyond words. Only two save-loads, and both on purpose - you literally do no mistakes on such a high pace of game-playing! The one thing I didn't get is how you killed the Ice Dragon and the subsequent dragons without recharging the Eye of Innos. Can you please explain that? Did Piranhas simply forget to check for recharges or did you use any specific bug?
