Sometimes there are no warning signs. I just paid the ultimate price. I had an LDR for over 6 months. Nothing seemed out of place that would make me think she was a scammer. I have talked to many girls before and I can usually spot a scammer a mile away. So, Thursday night, I arrived in Manila around 6pm. We got to the condo I rented for the weekend we were going to stay at until we went to her parents house. I was exhausted from the plane trip and fell asleep soon after we arrived at the condo. Everything seemed like it was going great. She had never asked me for money. She even offered to buy things for me. However, when I woke up, she was gone and so was all my money. Now sitting here trying to figure out what I am going to do when I have to check out tomorrow.
So sorry to hear that. That's why many RUclipsrs say never allow her to pick you up from the airport. She took advantage of your exhaustion.
Talk to the front desk they should have her ID and report her to the police
Never meet them right away at the airport. Get settled in first. I would call this more like a crime of opportunity.
I don't think it has anything to do with meeting at the airport. It has to do with the foolishness of the person. I always get a room with a safe, all my valuables go in that safe as soon as I get in the room and that is regardless of how many times I've been with this girl. Your own safety is you're responsibility. Don't ever give that responsibility to another person.
ouch that's nasty.
This video should be required viewing for any single man. It applies everywhere, not just the philipines. Every father should give it to their sons when they are old enough to date.
Good idea!
share the video and pass it on. hahaha thanks guys for your support
well said
I've had scammers come at me from all points of the globe!
Dont think this applies to 1st world countries I never had a girl ask me to pay for her phone bill in the US haha
For me, straight up I say to her "I have been scammed before and now every woman I chat with is scammer until she proves to me otherwise". Scammers will become defensive and combative and eventually will disappear. A real woman will understand and prove herself to you.
I with you. I have been scammed many time. Mostly I was willing
@@mikesphilippineretirement I was scammed $150 by a woman who I got to know through a filipino friend.
1st time: mother was sick I sent $150. The only reason why I sent this money was because of my friend's connection.
2nd time: her paycheque was delayed and needed electricity bill paid, I said no and blocked her.
I told my friend that he has introduced me to scammer.
I've given out loads more than a few times. But typically it's pretty easy to tell when the woman's scamming you. However! Sometimes one can sneak through if you're not careful.😊
1-2 weeks is the average time I have seen that they wait and ask for “help”. You’re right. They never ask for money, they just tell you about a problem they have.
I suppose whenever they feel the victim is emotionally bonded...
There are different kinds of scammers including just a regular girl who wants both love and money - a complete catfish dynamic...Doing an hour long video chat with them weeds out 99% of scammers...Now the "mid game" girls are the ones who are hard identify, they're seeing multiple men and if you visit the Phillipines, she'll even meet and sleep with you but will hound you for money...She'll possibly marry the first guy who proposes to them
If she can't purchase her own load to find her future husband then surely she is not the one. Any woman that ask money directly or indirectly is an immediate block.
Thanks you for sharing
You are the best commentator Mike. One of my attributes is I listen well. Before coming to the Phillipines I listened to RUclipsrs about this topic. So I made a firm boundary with myself not to communicate with anyone until I got there. That helped avoid scammers. I don’t like chaos and complexity. When I sense any I just say no. There are women who don’t present themselves with needs and chaos. I’ve met them. You explained the process so well. You provide a great service to men who listen and even those who want to be the hero, savior. Maybe they will at least pause after listening to you. I have met men who married the first time meeting Filipinas and they have a life of regret. I learn from other’s mistakes. Thank you Mike 🙏🏼
Another TOP TIP. Learn at the very least elementary the FILIPINO LANGUAGE. *Tagalog* is the national language. Most things are written in ENGLISH or TAGALOG. Sign up for a program like ROSETTA STONE and don't let everyone know how WELL you understand the language. You don't even need to be able to speak precisely. Just don't show up here completely ignorant.
Great tip. I’m studying Vietnamese. I prefer Vietnam 🇻🇳. More suitable for my personality and lifestyle. I’m so peaceful, contented and happy there. Such a beautiful country. I love the Philippines as well. It’s a great place for me to visit.
Filipinas don't need your love, they need your money, they already have love from their family
Damn I’ve never seen a comment like this before but wow it is real!
Hey Mike this message could not be repeated enough. Just got back from meeting my LDR from last 8 months and she is definitely my unicorn. Seeing her in person and spending 3 weeks with her solidified our status. She has never asked for money, I have offered and she refused until I forced it on her and it was essentially only a few dollars. She is a proud Filipina and hard working her own business. I cannot wait to retire in the next year and spend more time with her to verify our compatibility so we make a life together.
great to hear. Time will go fast
Great video. Good to see someone explain how exactly most scammers scam. This should be required viewing. I noticed this technique many years ago. They will also say when confronted, “I didn’t ask for anything, I’m not a scammer”. Don’t be fooled.
good point Brian
For me it was easy to avoid the online scammers. Just don't send money until you meet in person. That will filter them out fast. Great tips Mike!
Good point Gary
100%
That’s the simplest rule, so many gullible men out there, I feel sad for them.
Well said, Mike. I have told my boyfriend many times before we were even together that he needs to chat and meet other Filipinas before he makes a decision who he really wants to be with. I am not desperate to be in a relationship and I am comfortable being single after a failed marriage. My point is, take your time to get to know the person and never ignore the red flags.
good advice
Hi Mike,
That’s the best, in depth “scammer video”, I’ve ever watched. You knocked that one out of the park, and into the parking lot!!! I fell for it, about 3 years ago. By the second week, she said she loved me, and her son wanted to start calling me dad. Like you said, she never asked for money, but shared her problems.
NEVER AGAIN, NEVER AGSIN…
This is absolutely fabulous! It may be the most helpful Philippine expat video I have seen, and I have watched hundreds, and i am currently living in Davao. I have personally experienced everything Mike is discussing in the video. Absolutely 100% accurate!
Hey buddy
The more I listened to this interview the more it started reminding me of a lot of women I've met online in the West.
could be the same in any country
No matter where you go or live, women in general go for a man who has money, status and security. They just go about it differently, even in the U.S they do it
This is why you have to protect yourself at all times.
all good points
Amen
Sorry for the death of your father-in-law my friend.. tell your wife and your son I am very sorry.. my condolences😢😢
Thank you so much Richard
This is very wise advice gentleman.
As Mike went down that list of things that you might hear, I was thinking yes I heard that, yes, I heard that, and yes, I heard that one too…
It’s like he was reading my story.
Don’t be a fool!
(like I was)
I have lived it
The really smart ones never ask, wait for you to offer after they tell you their troubles so they could say I never asked for anything. I just accepted his gracious gift.
Respectfully disagree with online dating. We're not used to these women and don't understand their level of poverty , plus the fact that most of us feel lonely and are vulnerable. It's just best to meet in person or by recommendation .
Never the less this guy is on point with how they will play you.
Proceed with caution, fellas. Play at your own risk
agree to disagree
@stateofmind4341 Disagree, If you don't have time (only have a 2 week vacation) you can look for ladies online first, I did when I was 49. There is a lot of online scammers but you pretty much have to beware of these scammers. Don't fall for the first girl you talk to. Maybe I got lucky meeting my Filipina wife online, but it is a great place to meet someone. You can set filters for age range, kids, married, or height. Worked out great for me...just sayin.
Excellent advice Mike. But unfortunately many men will say, "But My Girl Is Different". Some even boast, "I Never Pay For S3X" I'm living here in Thailand. What you say applies equally here. Many men say "It Won't Happen To Me" ....
I've seen many men buy Cars, Condo or Gold Jewelry. It never ends well like the dream. Protect your Retirement Funds. Be smart. Trust and Verify. What's the big hurry?
Live together for 3-6 months. Then make your decision. A good girl will always be a good girl. An easy girl is one who makes bad choices her entire life. No amount of money can solve that problem.
heard that many times
I picked-up on the "too quick I love you" with my previous relationship from someone in Iquitos. I learned how to ignore those "subtle need stories". One time early on she even went so far as to say "only a good boyfriend would buy a cellphone for their girlfriend" "like my friend, her boyfriend bought her a new phone" Apparently I am "tacanyo" " a cheap person" for not doing it. Indeed, I allowed this quasi-relationship to carry on far too long.
Emotional Connections come from within, and for most men you either feel it or you don't. With this last one in Iquitos, I was never connected emotionally 100%.
This is the evolution of a filipina scammer. Really good information Mike thanks 🙏.
welcome
A lady ask for money and he give it to her, she is not scamming. She asked and he gave. He is just stupid.
Thanks for sharing
It's standard playbook for most girls to "love bomb" as they need to keep you interested but yes, yet don't send them money or show off
good advice
Good evening mike again sorry about the wife's father. The death toll . from the storms this month is up to 25 right now. Have a great week
thank you
Which storms are you talking about? Did Mike's father-in-law die from a storm related incident? Thanks 😊
@richardhowe5583 he has been sick and the family knew the end was close.
I was told about this by you and several others. I have been very careful with the ladies I have been speaking with. A friend of mine and his Filipina better half researched several of her friends that she thought would be interested and right for me. The one that I finally clicked with was told that I am not wealthy but I am a good person. What shocked me was that after we had talked for awhile she asked me if I needed money for my phone. WOW!! She has even asking me what size my clothes are and she bought me different items and sent them to me. She is working as an OFW in Malaysia for 13 years in the healthcare industry. Her parents and most of her family know of me and accept me. She wants to move back to the province where she grew up and keeps telling me I will not have to worry about anything. I know it sounds strange and I can’t believe it has happened this way. I am so glad that I was able to learn from you, Janet and a few others. She has already paid for my ticket and I’m going to be there in March. She has told me that she wants to meet to be able to meet the people who told me about what to look for in Filipina. Have a blessed week.
Thanks for sharing
I guess I had the experience . Met Gemma on line took one look at her, came to the Philippines after one month and been together 8.5 years she is a working woman which is one you have to find nearly 60 now .. Never asked for money, very loving and caring as she is a child care worker and is one person which would be very hard to find like her ..
Thanks for sharing
I just tell her I’m watching videos about Filipina romance scamming foreigners.
If she’s not scamming me, then she has nothing to worry about. If she is then she’ll probably stop talking to me.
Win for me. Save my money and my time.
hahaha good idea
Nice!
@@SupplySergeantDeliverySystemsL She’ll move on to someone else!
This is exactly how it happens. Even an honest woman that you've known for about 10 years will have a very similar situation but not so much inconsistency. Their kids need new clothes or supplies for school. They still need your support. And never ever talk with anyone without video calls. You need proof that they are real.
Thanks for sharing
This video should be mandatory viewing for any man angling for a pinay from overseas. Concerning Facebook; any scammer worth her salt runs multiple accounts. Never send money. Control your emotions. The pinay you're talking to has already made it to adulthood without your help. She will survive.
Thank you Kuya
Thats just stupid giving that kind of money to her family
I agree
Hey Mike, Pete, again. Besides they’re wanting to move to a nicer place, beware of them saying, they found a great piece of land, to build a house, or, there’s a great “BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY!!!”
It is tough to find the right girl online and have a LDR (long distance relationship) but it can be done. Didn't decide to go to the Philippines until I knew had met the right girl online. But met my wife after a 1 year LDR and came back to the US and filed for the K1 US visa. Waited the whole 3 months (you have 90 days to marry when bringing a foreigner to the US on a K1 visa) before marrying to hopefully make sure she was right for me and it worked out.
Great advice Mike, thanks for this video....Jim
its easy to tell if you are being scammed. its when you give them money and you have not meet them in person first right then you are being scammed. never never never give any one any money not matter what if you have not meet them in person on one on one that how you know your being scammed.
Thanks for sharing
Every woman uses men for their money. Just ask yourself, 'Am I getting my money's worth?' That's the best you can hope for and can be a great deal.
75% scam...10% razor blades....15% are the honest kind. Theres 1001 excuse or problems requiring money.
From my experience you are being extremely generous claiming 15% are honest
I’m thinking 7%
I had a girlfriend there for a few years and even came there to spend time with her and her family $$$$. When I got back to the states we chatted online and there was this guy a little close to her and I saw him in a lot of our chats so I asked who he is and she said it was her brother lie number 1. Her sister is a catholic nun and she knew I was her boyfriend and how I helped her out a few times and planned to bring her to the states. The nun sister contacted me to let me know she had a boyfriend living with her so I dumped her and wasted a few years of my time. They are not much different from American women. I might return just to get out of the cold winters I get but plan to spend time in Vietnam and other nearby countries. So to end this ,,, don't believe everything you hear.
I saved this video of yours plus others you have great topics tyvm for all the research and information you put out to us
Awesome! Thank you!
you are so right...

I've been in situations you're describing, except I saw it coming.

She was an independent person who never asked me for anything, except my time, attention and Love.
But my Wife isn't typical

Also welcome to the Red Pill.
what is the red pill
@@mikesphilippineretirement a lot has to do with the truth about life that society doesn't teach young men anymore. Hence why the western society is slowly falling apart.
Economically and Sociologically.
There is no difference in the woman money factor from the Philippines to Malta, USA, Brazil where ever. You mite get scammed or meet the love of a lifetime. It's pretty simple , it's human nature to want stability. Like here in the USA I lost half my stuff twice!
I send 30 to 40 k pesos when I'm back in USA. I will be back in cebu 2 weeks.
I guess I'm the lucky one. I lended 80k to my Filipinas brother last year he has paid back half so far . I'm with good down to earth people. Good luck to the dating pool 😊
Grown men should know better but common sense. ain’t so common 🙌
so true Michael
very informative segment mike!
Thanks Walt
Correct!

Best advice don't have a online gf find one in person
👍
And this is way I act broke ..
Love your cat picture behind you
yes many have sent the photos of the pets they have Janet will make copies and post later
Mike, great advice. However, I do not believe in sending money to someone that I have never met in person.
thanks LLL
Guys think with that big head instead of that little head they would lose lot less money,,great topic..
the never ending story
If you're going to play, you're going to Pay,Dummy 😂!!😂😊
pay to play. Right up your alley
I still get so angry with myself for the $3500 over 2 months I foolishly sent back in 2022 plus the stupid plane ticket and I got off easy compared to the many horror stories I have heard. I now live here 9 months and with my gf who I just been friends with for 10 years( never stupid LDR and expecting a baby. Never been happier in my whole life. As legit as they come
Once you give money away your not scam you were willing to give

If her friends list is full of foreign men then she is most likely playing you and others.
good point Tim
Scammers are everywhere
yes
You can find a good one that asks you those caring things. But never ask for money. They can be found. But regardless, good advice. My wife also never had "problems or needs".
I talked about the good ones later in the video 25:10 mark
@mikesphilippineretirement yes I watched. Good video Mike. Just sharing my experience.
Thank you. I found the sound problem and should not have that problem again but I can not fix this video

Hey Mike - I love the channel but I'm confused by all the spin offs. You are promoting the Janet channel which is great but you are also in all those vids. If it's really her channel you don't need to be in all those. My gosh, give the girl some freedom. But, I understand not giving the Filipina too much freedom...lol. The other channel Dumaguete Rentals kinda makes sense, more specific topic, etc. But, if both of you are doing all 3 channels together why not just consolidate all that into one channel? I follow a lot of expat channels from PI and Thailand and Vietnam and Malaysia and elsewhere, but if I need to follow 3 that are basically the same content I might just get bored. Anyway, keep up the good work!
First warning No video chat, probably a guy.
hahaha ladyboy
Have you ever met a woman online who didn’t ask for money?
yes
In need girls red flags
yes
Probably sending money for her bf lol
could be you never know
Seems like the Philippines is not the paradise you & other RUclipsrs paint it to be.
Women here in the West have their own jobs, homes, cars etc.
Why would I travel 10,000 miles to date a woman with no job, source of income, no money, car home etc.???
Desperation?
Bec some Americans are looking for obedient and submissive women. Its a power and ego thing.
ruclips.net/video/MuD5UkI2f2Y/видео.htmlsi=Drj6_3kfPwLTbkAM never said it was paradise
This is great content Mike and I would say with very good information to take in. We all know there are scammers out there everywhere. Of course there are in the 🇵🇭, although personally I think the 🇵🇭 gets an unfair reputation about this. Guys are getting scammed throughout the globe just to name a few Caribbean Countries, Central & South America, Eastern European Countries, Africa and of course the good old USA! Then on another tip some guys out of their own ignorance give a girl a lot or all of their money or have a house build for her because they are feeling so much in love. Then when it doesn’t work out they claim they were scammed. They did it to themselves it’s not the girls fault. Thanks again Mike for sharing an absolutely great informative video👍🏾👌🏾👍🏾👌🏾!
thank you Skip
Ha... So if I sell you a house, that I know the basement will flood, the electric will soon burn or there is asbestos in the ceiling ... its your fault because you fell in love with the house.?
Sorry, that is misleading and fraud, the same applies to a scammer, Yes the girl is guilty, not the man.
Isn't technology wonderful ? Ted Kaczynski (unibomber) was right.
about what?
Just so you know the US is not the dominate force in the Philippines any longer so your US flag is displayed on the wrong side......:)
what is the right side
Use common sense, bottom line. Look for red flags. I met my wife the old fashion way in person. Find a Filipina with a job.
This is excellent advice ! It is best to start out of the right foot.
Once it starts it will never stop .
yes guys need to slow down
it sounds like that that is how you try to impress the girls you talk to ,dont be so condesending to your readers
Happy to report I am one of the successful ones. met online, she never asked for money. first visit she politely declined every gift (large and small) I tried to give. expressed serious, genuine concern that the places we stay at are too expensive. did a 24 hour tampo on me for picking a super expensive place once at the last minute! (Atlantis Dive resort, Dauin). right then I knew her defensive concerns for me spending MY money were genuine. what a KEEPER!!
(full disclosure, I do send her money now but the great percentage of that was AFTER we met in person. after three visits I know I have the "real deal"). zero red flags, ever.
We are now engaged and I will be living there in a matter of months (early 2025).
happy to hear that Walt
