  • Production switchers come in all sorts of different sizes and can be equipped with quite an array of feature sets from built in chroma keyers to the ability to stream to your favorite platform. Some are built with the most taxing IO requirements in mind while others are fashioned for ease of use and portability. In today’s video, we take a closer look at the up and coming Osee Go Stream Deck Duet to see what it brings to the table.
Osee reached out to me to do an honest review on their up-and-coming Go Stream Deck Duet - a step up from the original model - adding BNC connectors for HD-SDI video inputs, included NDI HX license, and a built in controllable fan! Thank you Osee for sending this out to me!

Just to clarify - the GoStream Duet DOES accept some interlaced formats. 1920x1080i@50/59.94/60
It DOES NOT however output any interlaced formats. That's where it is the "progressive only" club.

Very nice review. Love the format. Keep em up! Great to see a review of such a product coming from a broadcast professional perspective.

A keyboard compatibility is a discovery (although not completely unexpected, GoStream is a Linux device). I'll add that to the FAQ after checking myself (for some reason I didn't try it in all half a year I own a GoStream device). But... you already installed the software, why didn't you use it to change settings and add streaming keys?
USB hubs aren't recommended - at least unpowered (passive) USB hubs.
I find your approach a bit convoluted, TBH... Maybe because I come from “camera, computer, soundboard” side of things rather than from “analog broadcasting van”.

You're right! I absolutely could have just used the software. Works great!
The keyboard was just a curiosity itch. As an engineer, I'm kind of programmed to look for contingencies in all the products I use. If for whatever reason I was in a situation where the software wasn't available/ accesible the keyboard makes for a fine alternative :)

Hope to see a future OSEE GoStream that has the BNC / SDI Camera Inputs as well as at least one Program BNC / SDI Output. That would be the best of all worlds.

Lack of interlaced format support is a pretty solid deal killer in a LOT of situations.
And the other big omission is of course an SDI output.
Impressive tech for the size and price through.
I wonder if other "webcam" sources would work, I'm thinking HyperDecks for clip playback, or even an Atem as an upstream switcher for something like computer inputs.

I guess I should have clarified that a little better, but input wise it will accept 1920x1080i@50/59.94/60 - but on the output side there is no interlaced formats supported. That's what I was saying when progressive only 😬
I believe I have heard of people using an ATEM upstream in the USB port!

The osee is working well ended up looping of 4 cam feed from the master control van so I had easy b channel intercom. Literally 3000 foot cable runs I avoided this way. Overall so far it's streaming well. It did lock up twice until I reupgraded the firmware. Seems ok now. Half a Celtics game to go...keep u updated as I go.

I was going through your old videos and noticed the Graphite and noticed the integration of the built in XPression.
I was just curious what you guys do for graphics templates if you have someone that designs them or if you just use the built in ones?
I’ve been trying to possibly find someone that would design a package for me kinda like the ESPN one but with different graphic designs.

      Hi!
We don't do any of the design work. All of the graphics are typically from our customers. I do however find myself taking the designs and building an XPression package out of them, since they're typically not XPression ready. That's an area that I specialize in, building XPression packages/ templates with designs that are already polished from third-party software like Photoshop or After Effects.

It's not “Deck Duet”, it's just Duet.

Yepp! You're absolutely correct. My title and thumbnail represent that.
When their product team originally reached out to me about the review they referred to it as the "GoStream Deck (SDI version)". In later emails they started to tag on "Duet" to the end... and so that's why I referred to it as such when shooting the video. By the time the video was done and ready to be uploaded, I believe their marketing team settled on just "GoStream Duet".

Let u know how it goes

I would like to know if the streaming feature supports srt? If it doesn't, can you reach out to Osee to improve and include ghis feature

    • @BroadcastBuddyTV
      @BroadcastBuddyTV  2 месяца назад

      Hello!
There is currently no SRT support, but maybe it will appear. In June 2024, OSEE representatives said it may happen by August or September 2024. But at the moment only RTMP/RTMPS and purchasable NDI|HX input support (already activated at no extra cost with the Duet).

Does it have input scalers? Can inputs be in different formats?
