The Sequential Circuits Pro-One is a legendary monophonic analog synthesizer released in 1981. It was essentially a monophonic version of the Prophet-5, packing the same fat, aggressive, and punchy sound into a more affordable, compact form.
    🔥 Key Features & Sound
✅ Monophonic, 2 VCOs (CEM3340) - Fat, detunable oscillators with saw, pulse, and triangle waves.
✅ Multi-Mode LFO - Capable of deep vibrato, filter modulation, and more.
✅ 4-Pole Low-Pass Filter (CEM3320) - Powerful, resonant, and capable of screaming leads and growling bass.
✅ Snappy Envelopes - ADSR for both filter and amplifier, perfect for punchy basslines and plucky leads.
✅ Step Sequencer & Arpeggiator - Adds movement and rhythmic patterns without external gear.
✅ Modulation Matrix - Flexible routing for unique and experimental sounds.
✅ CV/Gate Control - Integrates with modular setups and external sequencers.
🔥 The Pro-One Sound: Deep, Dark, and Aggressive
Basslines: Thick, growling, and powerful - used in synthwave, industrial, and acid sounds.
Leads: Sharp, cutting, and raw - perfect for synth solos and aggressive hooks.
Drones & FX: Dark, eerie, and chaotic - thanks to its modulation capabilities and unpredictable behavior.
Percussion: Snappy envelopes allow for punchy synth drums and percussive textures.
    🎹 Famous Users & Songs
Depeche Mode - Used heavily on early albums for dark, moody synth sounds.
The Prodigy - Aggressive bass and leads.
New Order - Iconic basslines and electronic textures.
Prince, Soft Cell, Vince Clarke - The Pro-One helped shape early electronic and new wave music.
🎛️ Why It’s Still Loved Today
The Pro-One is a beast - it’s raw, organic, and full of character. The oscillators drift slightly, adding warmth, and the filter can scream when pushed. Many call it a “Mini Prophet-5”, but its snappier envelopes and more aggressive sound make it stand out.
    🔥 Modern Alternatives:
Sequential Pro 3 - A modern successor with added digital features.
    Behringer Pro-1 - A budget-friendly clone with near-identical sound.
Arturia Prophet V (VST) - Software emulation of the Prophet series, including Pro-One characteristics.

There is something wrong with the audio. A comb filter effect, like we’re listening to two copies of the audio slightly delayed. A Pro-One does not sound like this.

@@KrulliKlikk Thank you for your attention to my recording. I apologize for the slight delay during the playback; I had forgotten to turn off the delay effect on my mixer. I appreciate your understanding, and I will make a new recording without any external effects. Thank you!
