Your way is excellent and will try. I do basically same thing with different products. If you ever get into a bind and want a cheaper first step but works amazingly especially with bugs. I use Sprayway Glass Cleaner. It’s in an aerosol can as well and ammonia free.

I used the klock shine from Klockworks to clean it. Then, used all three products from 1903.
