I used to play this game SO MUCH when I was young! My first fighting game where I took time to learn combos and stuff. I was main cyclops! You should def take a look at the training mode, it's RLY good!
I love X-Men:Next Dimension. Funny story: When I was in high school, I would go to my mate's place. He had it on Xbox original and we would jam it. I would get smashed so bad. Now, my mate and his brother didn't even know combos. They just spammed long range moves lol. I asked him if I could borrow it. I learnt how to use all the characters. When I played them again, they didn't enjoy the beatdowns lol. Magneto and Cyclops were my best characters.
@@jonathanharwood1255 yeah, it was one of the best X-Men fighting games for sure. I had it on ps2, but the gamecube version seemed to be the better version with all the unlockable classic 90's outfits. It seemed to have more content than the ps2 version too. My favorite character was Gambit, but every character was fun to use in that game.
@@Lonewolf8611 oh true. I didn't know that. I'll have to check that out if it's the same on Xbox too. I still have our Xbox original but I can't seem to find the game. Might have to buy it somewhere. Yeah, Gambit was really good. The card attacks were so good and his level 3 was crazy. You could get 50 hit combos with him just with the addition of his card attacks.
I had completely forgotten about this game! Had a friend in high school who owned this and would make us all play it when we went round to his house. Was great though because if you beat him he'd get all pissy because it was 'his' game.
Mutant Academy 1 and 2, and Next Generation were a big part of my childhood. I remember me, my brother, and my cousins playing these games so much. I think the second one has Spider-Man!

This game in PS1 is very fun and Underrated the amount of things you can do with all characters, as a main Toad and Beast the game reward you for hard training.
I love X-men Mutant Academy 1 & 2. I’m surprised you’ve never played them Justin. Mystique is my favorite in this game. Plus, it even has Spider-Man as a secret character.

Quickly found out that literally NOTHING is a real block string. You can just press buttons whenever like Rival Schools, but there's layers to it. Shit was amazing actually.
I only played the 3rd game in this series, and didn't even know it was from that series since they used a different naming convention (Next Dimension is apparently the 3rd Mutant Academy game). That game was peak jank in a fun way.
The one on PS2, I forget what it's called, is actually pretty good. I rented it by accident thinking it was that Legends RPG game way back in the day and was pleasantly surprised.
OMG. I hope you get to play the sequel. That one is mad fun. It's MSH in 3d. And what's cool about it everyone can do aerial raves from any normal or special that can launch the opponent to the air. Also you can transfer your energy in between in those meters. If it's not this one then it is probably the sequel. I usually do the energy transfers when doing specials. I believe you have to hit back then either press a button assigned to those meters. They even had obscure characters added to the roster like Forge and Havok. Jean Grey has this ability to confuse the opponent's controls (works well with human players but not A.I.). Also Rogue having 3 supers here.
First time seeing the first Mutant Academy in action and they really did a lot of work polishing things for the second one. Idk why never before I bothered going to check it and seeing it now is wow still.
I'm sure there's gotta be some weird, deep, jank sauce in this game, but I've never played nor seen this game in action, however, I used to have a demo of MA2 on a PS1 demo disc and I remember having a fun time with Havok but it could be nostalgia paired with the fact I knew nothing about fighting games. Glad you stuck with this til the end regardless!
