I received one big bulb with huge leaf as a gift from Roger (RogerOrchid UK) some 5 or 6 years ago. Now there is growing next bulb, each consecutive leaf is bigger then previous, I hope some time ahead I will see a flower. This year I change the medium, there was a lot of dead roots and smelly substrate, I think it well worse to do it.
Great Vids, I have two Bulb Phal. One with five bulbs and another with one. I am trying to learn as much as I can. Have you repotted this one yet, I could not find a video on repotting.
Congratulations!!! A word on Orchiata. Lime is used to neutralize the bark and it starts to rinse out after about 6 months. You may want to check the ph after a while and top dress with some of your oyster shell & dolomite mix.
Wade's Orchids thanks for the tip. I use lime in most of my pots nowadays anyways. So that is good to know. Still buys the plants an extra 6 months anyways. All the best
Amazing :D It's simply beautiful! I love the coloring of flowers and the leaves. It reminds me of something straight out of the prehistoric jungle! So cool. Great job.
Hi Brad. I just got this orchid. I'm totally not an orchid person but love the size this gets as well as the creepy smelly flowers. I like scary plants. I've watched your video a bunch of times now. I've seen some botanical gardens growing these in pots and upright like a normal plant. I kind of don't want to hang this and want to grow it that way though mine came mounted on fir bark. Any advice and also what soil mix do you use other than sphagnum and bark? I'd love to see an update on this plant. How is it now?
hello brad! you have a wonderful greenhouse with wonderful plants and your explanations are also very interesting. bulb. phalaenopsis is really something very special. one is blooming right now. b. sumatranum. did you know that the dorsal sepals lay over the pollinator in the evening? in the morning the chalice leaf is erect again. Incidentally, I would have guessed right away that the flowers of the b. phalaenopsis does not smell good. just look. greetings from germany from helge
Hi Brad, mine is a bit bigger than yours but has no flowers yet, my leaves are more green does the red/purple maybe indicate that it gets nice amount of light?
A very interesting looking orchid (as most bulbos are)! I am def amazed at how purple and healthy looking the eleaves are! I assume the light exposure is high?
That is so unique! I wonder why this one has the species name phalaenopsis. The Dendrobium phals resemble that "moth" look, I thought it meant "mothlike" but... this breaks the rule. You should take this to a show and get an award for it! It would be fitting to treat the judges to this scent :) Outstanding edit: Oh maybe because the leaves resemble the Phal genus?
rotten venison. resembles the looks too. I love bulbophyllums but I didn't come across a nice smelling one yet. in fact my first was a Louis Sander and that had quite the stink too ;) regardless, beautiful!
Amazing plant you grew great work. And thanks for the great growing advice.
So stunning and unique 👍😍
Love it! And I love your inventive way of growing it :) is it still doing well?
Great video which bulbos don't smell bad?
Absolutely stunning orchid
Ooohhh cantikk

Have you done holes in the inner pot to connect the media of both?

super cool plant! a must have when i get a greenhouse
+Robert Cuff Yes, Definitely!
How is it doing now?
Think they are pollinated by flies hence the smell that attracts them.
This is so creative! Always enlightening to see new ways of mounting / potting orchids!
That is such a beautiful plant Brad...
This. Orchid. Is. Amazing! I just love how the leaves hang & get gigantic
Beautiful plant

This Bulbo looks perfect. You did a great job getting it to bloom. It's my favorite Bulbo, but my nose is too sensitive to grow one.
Amazing :D It's simply beautiful! I love the coloring of flowers and the leaves. It reminds me of something straight out of the prehistoric jungle! So cool. Great job.
Very interesting plant, congratulations on growing it so well. Thank you for all the information.

Your bulbo phalaenopsis is awesome. I have been wanting get one of those. Can you tell me where is a good place to get one?
A carrion orchid that's new to me, I had some succulents with carrion scent beautiful flowers but not for the living room ;-)
Hi Brad, mine is a bit bigger than yours but has no flowers yet, my leaves are more green does the red/purple maybe indicate that it gets nice amount of light?
Yes! Move the plant into higher light and it'll likely get more red as shown in the video.
Please do an update on your capita select tillandsia...
i would like to see your repor of the pots that hang on the side, won't the media fall out when it get up on the wall again?
Please...please do an air plant update video....especially your airplant on the wood with the orchid....
A very interesting looking orchid (as most bulbos are)! I am def amazed at how purple and healthy looking the eleaves are! I assume the light exposure is high?
This one earned a like or two maybe three lol. But I can only give you one. This took forever and a age. But look at that bloom.
Nice vid

Rasmus Finn check the bulb. macranthum. To me it smells like watermelon.
Wow, such an amazing flower. I really like the look of it, but could not stand the smell.
its so ugly its beautiful... is that the one they say smells like something died?
+Marisa S yes, that is definitely a good way to describe it 🤢
I believe bulbos are pollinated by flies hence that odor that attracts them.
You forget fertilizing and I m waiting for its repoting.....
+Govind Singh Govind Singh seaweed;)
You came up with a unique way to water this very unique plant!!! How hard will it be to repot it? Please video it...thanks!!!
