  • Book Title “Traumatic Brain Injury - our TBI journey told by Ruth Bitsui
About the book - Standing on the precipice of the unknown is daunting at best. Life guarantees a fair share of ups and downs. However, there are some incidents good and bad that transform a person’s life in more ways than imagined.
Edison and Ruth Bitsui were raised on the Navajo Nation. Their most authentic selves were as husband and wife in a world outside of their homelands. In a world where people are as different from one another as sand and sage.
In a matter of seconds, Ruth Bitsui's life changes from a peaceful evening of horseback riding with her beloved Edison to a journey of pain, fear, and compassion. The once-routine evening takes a horrifying turn, leaving Ruth and Edison with a different reality to face.
This book details how Ruth turned from fear to help her husband through five years of TBI. She was motivated to survive, learn, and cope with their new life. Ruth’s faith is rocked but strengthened as she embraces reality, practices gratitude and stays close to her feelings, even the painful ones. The unknown becomes clearer with time.
