Oh, I was gonna disagree about 'too many WIPS' then you said 20 or 30. Egad! That would be stressful. I'm generally working 3 or 4 things at the same time. I thought that was a lot. So wow, you've given me permission to work my tiny amount of WIPs. Thanks!
That was fun Erica!!! I can’t agree with the craftsmart yarn, but o my because I’ve never used it yet lol. I don’t have a Michael’s near me. But I will make a point of picking some up next time I’m in Des Moines (which almost never happens lol)!
Got some Craftsmart off a clearance rack... Had never heard of it... Not as smooth as working with alpaca but for being acrylic it was glorious to work with. I can't afford fancy yarns so any nice acrylic I find is always a good thing especially if it's decently priced.
I'm with you on all of these! I've been out of the crafts/crochet field for about 12 years, so some of this is new to me. I've not attempted color pooling, when I used to crochet stuffed animals, that's what they were called. 🤷🏼♀️ I picked up a hook and some yarn a week ago yesterday and have already completed a 6' x 6' afghan, a Scoodie (I think that's what it's called), and 2 scarfs. I didn't crochet at all yesterday because my huge collection of yarn (that I have comfort in buying and owning) and 99% of my hooks are in the basement, which I can't get to (I need both knees replaced). I've been working up the yarn that I have purchased in the past decade, but it's gone. I'll definitely be checking out the Michael's yarn! (Thanks for the tip). Knots are part of the craft IMO. Fun video!!😊
I totally agree with all of your points. I know for sure that I wouldn’t like Tunisian crochet because it’s too much like knitting, and I just don’t enjoy knitting AT ALL. I have never tried Michaels Craft Mart value yarn, so I’ll have to check it out….😉 In the end, we are the creator of our yarny things, so if we like it, that’s all that matters! ❤️-Brenda Love your channel……new subscriber here.
Nice to see you. I've commented on the color pooling. I used your video for the last two I crocheted. I don't find it relaxing though😮. I also don't like to have more than 3 crochet projects going. If I start one and never want to pick it up again I give it and the yarn away to a fellow crocheter to finish or frog it out. I have a granny square sweater I'm trying to finish before I start the new sweater I want to make, so I'm resisting buying the yarn or looking at the pattern.
Hello Erica. Knots rule…period! Not a fan, either, of T crochet. Have never tried color pooling because I have never liked variegated yarn. However, after watching your CP tutorials, I plan to challenge myself in 2024 to make one of the projects you teach on your channel. I have watched other channels which try and teach CP and they do not meet your high quality standard of patience and honesty and teaching that you bring to the table. You explain why you have to do “X” and that makes all the difference. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and I look forward to seeing what yarn-spirations you bring to your channel in 2024.
The craftsmart is now the Loops and Threads soft classic. I made a hat out of the craftsmart yarn and it was pretty good. I then made a scarf out of the loops and threads soft classic and it tore up my finger on my tension hand. I tried a couple of different colorways and as soft as they feel in the skein, they were just really rough for me on my hands. Not as bad as Red Heart Super Saver - which I just can’t use, but I still won’t be buying any more. I just did not enjoy it and I really wanted to. 😢
Yes. It’s not difficult, just time consuming but you join the new yarn in on the last stitch of the old color and then weave in the ends. It can be tedious so knots are way easier but you can feel them in your work so it’s 6 of one, half dozen of the other on the way you join new colors.
Oh no! My phone is buffering, 🙄. Edited: it fixed itself, thankverymuch yt. And some of what your op's are i agree. As for craftsmart i still have not tried it. But i will. Joan's had the best deals that i saw but alas i did not go shopping till a day later. That blanket yarn was a hit apparently. I went to get bl/wh and one color called dove tweed. Well smack me silly! They were out! Had to order it. And there was this velvet yarn called peacock i only needed one, yep all gone. So i took the last 7 skiens of the country garden! Plus two black velvet for my backup incase i didnt have enough of the peacock already at home. Its for my first sweater "for myself" i might add. My mock cowl shirt didnt have enough yarn for so thats put away till i figure out what to do. Love ur vids n hows the "little" doing❣🥰
Knots in new yarn is NOT okay especially if it's THREE knots scattered throughout a skein in something like Premier Bloom yarn and you buy a new skein expecting to make a nice little patterned hat or scarf with said skein. (guess what happened to me?)

You’re very welcome! Enjoy those WIPs! 😁💜

I like the beauty of color pooling but have not mastered it and have given up for now.
It’s ok to put a skill in time out. You’ll get back to it when you’re ready and it will just click! 💜😁

Yes! Too many WIPs is stressful! I have a sweater I’m trying to finish as well. 😁💜
I have knots everywhere and I don't care 🤣
Me too!! 😂😂💜

How do you not knot??? Are there other ways to join yarn??!

It is definitely frustrating when the knots effect the pattern.
Knots are a necessity. I don't like finding knots in a skein of yarn
Knots can be frustrating but I agree that they are necessary sometimes. 😁💜
Love the #funpopularopinions! It’s great! @thespponiestitcher has to see this! ☺️🧶🫶🏻
I TOTALLY agree with more than one of your opinions, btw 😉
Thank you! I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. 😂💜
