    Would you recommend the T7910 over the HP Z840 if your 3 main deciding factors are:
    * Compatibility with non-refference design consumer graphics cards (i.E. Geforce cards with custom Cooler/PCB)
    * System Noise Level under heavy load
    * User servicabilty in case of fan problems.
    The very intricate CPU+RAM cooler assembly on the Z840 is touted to be whisper quiet, but i imagine that if just some of the fans go bad (or at least get annoyingly loud), replacing individual fans instead of outright buying a full new assembly will be way harder than switching out the standard fans on the CPU Heatsinks or the front intake fans on the T7910.

    • @Itcreations-LA
      @Itcreations-LA  7 лет назад +1

      +Optilasgar They are both very similar as far as their ability to take additional cards and power cables. The noise level is fairly similar for both and very quiet. As far as fans, yes, the replaceemnt of a fan in the fan shroud on a Z840 is a chore but the chances of a failure are pretty small, not non-exisitent but small. It is easier to replace on the Dell and parts may be a little less expensive, but both of these systems are really pretty fantastic. The chances are that any excessive noise is probabaly going to come from the graphics cards. Both should also be able to run the newer cards, even though they are untested by the manufacturer. They are both really quite until you load them up but even then still pretty quiet. Bottom line, do you have a manufacturer preference because you might as well flip a coin for build quility on these machines. Hope that helps.

      Dell rarely updates their docs but check out page 51 here: dl.dell.com/topicspdf/precision-t7910-workstation_owners-manual_en-us.pdf Apparently, it does support 2TB of memory (now…). However, keep in mind that not all CPUs will support 1TB of memory each. I think this system origianlly came with E5-2600 v3 CPUs and now you can upgrade to v4 processors, which presumably support more memory. Thanks for watching!

I could see the lights blinking but couldn't hear anything, of course that's with only the single HDD. We have everything to outfit just about anything but went with a minimal config., except for the graphics cards. Graphics cards are cool Heh, heh, heh…

    Hello and thank you for this view. I'm considering a T7910 for video editing, programming, surfing, and, yes, gaming. In the video you show Win 7 and a HDD. I'm wondering about Win 10 Pro with a Samsung 970 Pro PCIe SSD or m.2 (the support by the T7910 for m.2 / PCIe SSD seems confusing). Any thoughts / explanation on the m.2 vs PCIe SSD for the 7910. • @Itcreations-LA
      @Itcreations-LA  2 года назад +2

      Hi there Defects,
      Yea, no. The E5-1620 CPUs will not work as they are designed for a different socket. An E5-16xx v3 or v4 might work but you would be limited to a single socket. Might as well go with a single socket system if you only want to use 1CPU. Link to Spec Sheet here: www.itcreations.com/user-manuals/t7910/dell-precision-tower-7910-quick-specs.pdf
      You could get a single e5-2600 v3 or v4 CPU on EBAY, which you could then add a second at a later date… You could always ask IT Creations to match or beat whatever price you find too. www.itcreations.com Just offing some options. Thanks for watching!

      Wrong generation of Xeon CPU. You need a V3 or V4 version in the T7910. The E5-1620 only has 4 cores. Why not an E5-2643 V3, *6* cores at 3.4/3.7 GHz and you can fit TWO of them ? The E5-2637 V3 has the same 4 cores as a 1620 (at 3.5/3.7 GHz) and again you can fit two and is CHEAP !

    I got my T7910 w/256GB and 72 total cores. However, I am unable to see anything attached to ports 2 and 3. Ports 0 and 1 have two 4TB drives for a LVM of 7.2 TB, and the spare sata has my old 4TB SSD.
    What should I be looking for in the bios to check about those ports? I did open up the box and that side and it seems those ports are connected. (Opening that is also how I got the 4TB SSD installed to the sata port.)

      Hi +Prashant Mundargi we don;t carry those M.2 cards but I will confirm the T7910 will support both dual and quad M.2 cards see specifications here and look under Storage Options www.itcreations.com/user-manuals/T7910/Dell_Precision_Tower_7000_Series_7910_Spec_Sheet.pdf Here is a link describing the Dell quad card that supports up to 4x 1TB M.2 dirves www.servethehome.com/the-dell-4x-m-2-pcie-x16-version-of-the-hp-z-turbo-quad-pro/ And here is a great response to a question on using M.2 as a boot device with the T7910 on Spiceworks that gets answered by Dell community.spiceworks.com/topic/1928166-dell-pcie-ssd-advice. All that said, I don;t see any reason why the cards you asked about shouldn't work but we have not, and cannot test without puirchasing, and Dell usually just wants to sell their proprietary products, which I can understand from a profit perspective. We have the T7910 in stock if you are looking for parts and components but again we don't have the specific M.2 storage devices you are asking about. See a few links in the description above. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    • @Itcreations-LA
      @Itcreations-LA  4 года назад +3

      Hi Arup,
      I am not sure what that would do to your system. I don't thinks you can add the 1300W PSU without frying the system. If you do decide to try this (not recommended!!) we can sell you a t7910 or even a T7920 if you encounter problems! BTW, I saw your post on Green PC Gamers while researching your question. If you want to run 2x K6000 then you should be good to go with the 825W PSU as the specifications say you can install 2x GPUs with a power draw up to 300W each. The K6000 only uses 225W maximum power consumption, here: www.nvidia.com/content/PDF/data-sheet/NV_DS_Quadro_K6000_OCT13_NV_US_LR.pdf
      Also check out our landing page. At the very bottom of the page are several Dell documents that may be of use including the spec sheet, which supports my claim above. goo.gl/McCdxj Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

      Hi Icychainz,
      Not specifically that scenario but I have turned a system only for strange things to occur. You definitely did the right thing restarting, not that there was another option… If it happens again write down as many details as possible about what happened before, during, and after the event. It is very hard to diagnose one time events but the more information you have the more information you can provide to whomever will diagnose the problem. Often you can look online with some of the characteristics of the crash and it's quite likely others have experienced it too. I'm going to chalk this up to a fluke, for now, but if it happens again drop us a message. Thanks for watching!

    When you say at 4:18 that NVMe disks are four times faster than SATA SSD disks, unfortunately this is not the case in reality. The ASUS HYPER M.2 V2 works great, and really affordable, NVMe drives not a lot more expensive than SSD-s, but their speed in reality at least on the T7910 are only marginally faster than regular 6MBs SSD.

      Hi there! Nvidia Geforce cards are not listed in their list of supported cards and have not been tested by Dell to run on this system. All that said, yea, GsForce cards should work just fine but they are geared more towards gaming, so no ECC. with a 1300W PSU this system is designed to support 3x high-performance cards up to 675W total power draw. The Nvidia GeForce 2080TI consumers about 260W and lists 675W as the minimum power supply for installation, so looks good! Here's a link to the specification sheet, and one to the Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080TI, which I chose at random given you did not specify which card you would like to install. goo.gl/3zSAH4 www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-rtx-2080-ti/specifications . • @Itcreations-LA
      @Itcreations-LA  4 года назад +1

      Hi Vaseem, No, this board is not designed for that CPU architecture. In fact, even on the newer workstation systems, at least on the higher end from the manufacturers, rely on the enterprise-class Intel Xeon processors, in this case the Xeon E5-2600 v3 and v4 series, which have been replaced with Intel Xeon Scaleable processors on the new iterations of these systems like the T7920. There are a few lower end workstations offered by Dell, HPE and the others that use the Core X processors. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!

      @Itcreations-LA  4 года назад

      @@Vaseem_opai Yes, you should be able to play at 4k, assuming you have a 4k monitor attached and your RTX card supports 4K. However, you may find that setting is not to your liking for rendering and frame rates in your games. So in a word, yes, but again you may find you like playing at lower resolution settings and higher frame rates. This is all very subjective and there are many variables in how fast your system will render frames and such, like explosions. the card is a major player in rendering frames but you will need a 4k monitor. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!

    My TS600, after finish the Dell support and I didn´t renew... the computer became slow to start...I upgraded to win10 with the version that Dell indicated...but keep the same...now it takes 7 minutes to start. I checked a few manuals online but was unable to find details of what your system supports, so I hesitate to recommend anything. However, to ensure compatibility either ask Dell or open up the laptop and read the specs directly off the drive and match those specs (at least for type of drive) and go from there. I don;t see any reason why there should not be a SATA SSD that will work with your laptop. I put one in my 11-year old Sony Vaio and it starts in under 30 seconds now. And SSD will make a dramatic difference. Good luck and thanks for watching!

      @@jari173 That makes a whole lot of difference. Yes you can install either 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SSDs at 3Gb/s on that system (it is an older system and will not support 12Gb/s drives). Going to assume you have standard HDDs in there now. An SSD for your boot drive will provide a significant increase in performance. If you want to go 6Gb/s for SAS or SATA you will need a PERC as the internal HD/RAID controller will only support 3Gb/s. That said you can install a 6Gb/s drive on your system if you can find an inexpensive on that is for some unknown reason priced less that a 3Gb/s drive but it will function at th eloewr speed level (3Gb/s). The most basic configuration, on the first page of the link I provided above, shows the following configuration and is priced at $1959 dollars which translates to 134,514 Rupees and as mentioned, that price is in addition to shipping costs and Customs fees if they apply. Hi Haruji,
      It is very common for some of the manuals to be out of date. This system is compatible with both E5-2600 v3 and v4 processors, each of which supports different memory capacities and speeds. CPU releases used to be based on a Tic Toc schedule with the initial release supporting a certain GB capacity and then the release of the next gen usually includes not only the new processor but firmware and BIOS updates. The information presented in this video is somewhat out of date and even Dell does not always update their materials on a timely basis. Here are two links.
      Here is a link to the outdated manual (soon to be updated, so this may not be the old one in just a few days…) we have on posted on our site, I think using the v3 CPUs or v4 CPUs without another firmware update, page 60:
      www.itcreations.com/user-manuals/t7910/precision-t7910-workstation_owner's%20manual_en-us.pdf
      Here is a link to the manual on the Dell site which has E5-2600 v4 processors listed and 1TB with single CPU and 2TB with 2 CPUs and 128GB memory modules, Page 51:
      dl.dell.com/topicspdf/precision-t7910-workstation_owners-manual_en-us.pdf
      Dell is not the only manufacturer to do this. They all do it and the technology changes even for systems that have been out for a while. Makes it hard to stay up to date, and the videos do not age well… Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
