Actually, the Jacksons hardly ever payed their own instruments on studio recordings while at Motown (this changed once they went to Epic/CBS Records in 1975). So Tito & Jermaine aren't playing the guitar and bass on this record. Also, since the J5 recorded primarily in LA rather than Detroit, the bassist on this record isn't James Jamerson. It's likely Wilton Felder, who played bass on the early J5 hits.
