Our township stopped ALL door to door soliciting from any school driven campaigns after that. Hard and painful lesson to get to that point. Now 2022 reality check, everyone who is sane needs to be 💪’md.

Parents and friends! Should your young adult loved one start exhibiting odd behaviors ALWAYS get them a psych consult. Don’t get stuck on drugs before then. 18-28 is the age psychosis manifests. Along w mental illnesses like bipolar. Catching & treating it right away can literally make the difference between life & death
Exactly. Schizophrenia usually shows up at that age also. Those all-nighters at college probably sent him spiraling. I was so depressed in college, from doing all-nighters, & I didn't realize I was Bipolar AKA Manic/Depressive. When you are Manic, you think you're immortal.
There is so long-term backer act (it is always 72 hours) and it is hard to get teens into residential (long term housing). I do believe if he was backer acted that day, at least this family would have been saved

Not 10 minutes ago, I watched a video by another creator about this. The one I saw was from That Chapter, and it went into pretty deep detail about it. Like I said on that video, I understand the victims' families utter rage, and deep desire to see this boy to burn. Their anger is completely justified and understandable. I wouldn't expect anything less from the families who loved them so much. But I also feel so sorry for the kid. As someone whose family has schizophrenics in it, I feel so, so sorry for him. It really wasn't him that committed this violence.Sure, sure it was his body, but psychologically, it was a completely different person. I know some people don't believe that, but it's favtually the way it works. His own self was able to reach through, and ask the cops to kill him, but they caouldn't because they thought John was still alive. He desperately wanted them to kill him. Honestly? It would have been better for Austin, and for the victims' families if they had shot him.

Wow! Coincidentally, the comedian John Oliver just dedicated an entire segment of his show "Last Week Tonight" to the lack of access to mental health care in the American health care system. Here is an example of a person who needed mental health treatment far beyond what is available to the "average American". It's not even about money, either. The American health care system just doesn't have the capacity to deal with the need. Even those lucky enough to have good medical insurance often find mental health care is not covered or the coverage is so limited as to be functionally useless. It's just not something we prioritize in America (yeah, I'm from Scotland but I'm American by choice 🏴🇺🇸). At our own peril.

First he talks about demons in the house, then their reaction to him patroling the house at night and walking into their bedrooms is....... To lock their bedroom doors.... I mean, that one alone had me already worried. Then they assume it's drugs and he admits to taking multiple different drugs, which again in today's day and age, we are educated on. So they say he needs to stop? No, he needs PROFESSIONAL help 🤦🏻♀️ so then they just continue with their bizarre summer. His best friend wanted to just help him and get his mind off of whatever seems to bother him, I don't blame him. But then the sister stops Austin physically MULTIPLE times from running into traffic to "test his immortality" and takes him..... Into the restaurant? WHAT???? And then they just try to have DINNER? What am I even hearing for f***s sake? But the icing on the cake must be the mother, DRIVING HIM BACK TO THE RESTAURANT AFTER FINDING HIM DRINKING VEGETABLE OIL????? WHAT IN THE WORLD OF HELL IS ACTUALLY GOING ON? My only explanation is that Austin's mental health issues are passed down and the whole damn family is crazy.
We all do. All he has to do is react to the video and then blur it out when editing before he puts it out to the public for us to see. We'll still hear the song and still see and hear his reaction.. we just won't see the video. He can do this by blurring it out, showing the album cover in front of the video, showing the band/artist in front of the video.. anything that hides the video while still reacting to it. He can also just put the lyrics up and react to the song without the video. For some reason he won't do this so he's just moving on to different content.
I was also thinking he was on bath salts. The first time I heard of that drug was in a news story where a man had been arrested for biting a homeless man. If I remember correctly, the perpetrator thought he was a bear. I wonder what kind of treatment Austin is getting now that he's in jail. He seems pretty clear-headed now for someone who was insane enough to do what he did.

The police investigated the "bath salts" incidents in Florida where the men were eating homeless people, but it turned out they were only under the influence of weed. Their weed could have been laced with something but that is why I don't even mess with people who smoke that.

We need to be treating mental health as we do any health issues. If your child or even friends had a very high fever you would get them help right away. We need to have changes made with laws and how law enforcement deal with it. police officers can assist but we need the proper professionals in place

First he talks about demons in the house, then their reaction to him patroling the house at night and walking into their bedrooms is....... To lock their bedroom doors.... I mean, that one alone had me already worried. Then they assume it's drugs and he admits to taking multiple different drugs, which again in today's day and age, we are educated on. So they say he needs to stop? No, he needs PROFESSIONAL help 🤦🏻♀️ so then they just continue with their bizarre summer. His best friend wanted to just help him and get his mind off of whatever seems to bother him, I don't blame him. But then the sister stops Austin physically MULTIPLE times from running into traffic to "test his immortality" and takes him..... Into the restaurant? WHAT???? And then they just try to have DINNER? What am I even hearing for f***s sake? But the icing on the cake must be the mother, DRIVING HIM BACK TO THE RESTAURANT AFTER FINDING HIM DRINKING VEGETABLE OIL????? WHAT IN THE WORLD OF HELL IS ACTUALLY GOING ON? My only explanation is that Austin's mental health issues are passed down and the whole damn family is crazy.
These are clueless parents and family and friends. Who failed him.

We all do. All he has to do is react to the video and then blur it out when editing before he puts it out to the public for us to see. We'll still hear the song and still see and hear his reaction.. we just won't see the video. He can do this by blurring it out, showing the album cover in front of the video, showing the band/artist in front of the video.. anything that hides the video while still reacting to it. He can also just put the lyrics up and react to the song without the video. For some reason he won't do this so he's just moving on to different content.

I was also thinking he was on bath salts. The first time I heard of that drug was in a news story where a man had been arrested for biting a homeless man. If I remember correctly, the perpetrator thought he was a bear. I wonder what kind of treatment Austin is getting now that he's in jail. He seems pretty clear-headed now for someone who was insane enough to do what he did.

his parents dropped the ball on this. this guy should have been taken to the hospital after his family realized that he wasn't sleeping for nights on end and was roaming the house all night. they felt threatened enough to lock their bedroom doors. clearly this guy was in the throes some sort of mental episode. i'd like to hear what his parents had to say in defense of their lack of intervention. they saw their son was not doing well from the time he came home...

I'm with you Jamal. As soon as he was kicked off of the victim the first time, the other officer should have shot. I would have emptied my gun in him. That woman officer was not a good officer. Also, why did she not move to the side and shot into the side of the perp. She did not have to shoot just from above. Sounds like she freaked out and froze. Old rule of thumb, "... two to the chest and one to the head to make sure it's dead ..."!

The police investigated the "bath salts" incidents in Florida where the men were eating homeless people, but it turned out they were only under the influence of weed. Their weed could have been laced with something but that is why I don't even mess with people who smoke that.

We need to be treating mental health as we do any health issues. If your child or even friends had a very high fever you would get them help right away. We need to have changes made with laws and how law enforcement deal with it. police officers can assist but we need the proper professionals in place
