    Proof positive that removing a dictator is not necessary. They can be taught a lesson and even be made to behave more acceptably in defeat. Hirohito did more for his country in peacetime than he ever could have in wartime. We should have tried to reform men like Saddam Hussein and Qaddafi before removing them. And we should try to reform Assad in much the same way.
