This is great, but I feel like this would be better called "16 bit" or maybe just chiptune, because it uses way more than an 8-bit sound chip can handle.

But the majority of the sounds are from the 8-Bit soundfont taken straight out of NES :)
***** Yeah I can definitely hear some classics in it, them triangle waves and whatnot, but it's just so many people call chiptune music "8-bit" that when you want to look for an actual 8-bit remix, you'll have a hard time finding it. this is pretty advanced even for a 16-bit :p but seriously, it's great work, i love all your stuff.

What's the difference between chiptune and 8bit? Like I guess a 16bit song could be chiptune too... that's the only thing I could think.
old consoles typically had 8 bit processors, thus this inflationary used term for chiptunes.

Can this be put in a nes game and work?
I think it wouldn't, It uses more than 4 channels, you would need to sample the chords and use them in the PCM channel
I don't think so it may be "chiptuned" in terms of waveform but there's too many audio channels I can hear at least 4 (Melody/Bass/Accents/Layover) and no, those aren't actual names I just call them that.
It could be made to work but some compromises would have to be made to use an old NES chip processor (they ran at 8bit hence the term 8Bit for music) while the Genesis and SNES used 16bit processors and continued the "bit wars" era that I think pretty much died with the Sega 32x being a total flop.
