Didn't Barra just get a raise?! THAT is what the union is really complaining about, if the company is having record profits that lead to her raise, which is in the MILLIONS, why are they having a hard time giving the real workers a real raise? Corporate greed is an ugly thing.
I got my 2023 Sierra in January. Wasn't planning to even think about a new one until at least 2028. Glad I'm in that mind set . Also glad I got my truck when I did and didn't delay things (multiple reasons).
Dealers will flat out let you know that high trim trucks are built before mid to low trim trucks regardless of when they were ordered. I just looked into ordering a new Silverado HD and was estimated an 8 month wait time and the midnight package was unable to be ordered, and I could not have the animated taillights.
its people's job's. the prices of the trucks / cars being so high isnt from our wages. its stock buy backs wasting $ on heated sidewalks for management. the people i work with have almost all been forced upto 15.9 hours a day 7 days a week for 82 days now.
Wish they would fire the whole UAW Overpaid work force and hire all scab labor. Laziest workers I have the displeasure knowing. It not like the quality of their shit vehicles can get much worse.
I grew up near a stamping plant. In the 90's, I had a dozen family and friends work there and they got paid in the 30's per hour in the 90's lol. I know of 3 still there and I know they are in the 50's per hour now and the stories they told me of the way they fk off at work and benefits like free lawyers to help when they're arrested for anything or getting divorced for the 3rd time. Yeah, no sympathy at all. One of my friends was sent to electricians school, fkd off the entire time and still got the paper cert. He gets paid disgusting money to change lights in the building lol.
I worked at Ford 8 years now, been told since day one takes 110 trucks to the bills for a week that labor ect. We make 800 a day per shift there is 3 shifts. If it's true there way over priced
@@lisowe33you sir have no clue what your talking about. If that’s the case explain to me why a Silverado made in Mexico and one made in Indiana cost the exact same. I’ll wait.
every time we get them lump sum bonuses we get hit with the higher taxes on them so really we getting little over half the bonus. Its not enough just give me a raise
The line has it easy.. a machine for it all. Robots weld, primer, paint, mate the body to frame. Humans now do very little on the line. However what work is done has so much assistance its crazy. Its not like 2 people are lifting a dash in, its not like a person picks up a tire and puts it on. They don't pick up a shock. What physical labor do they do? I support fair wage 110% being a Union member. But for what is charged for a vehicle or truck is skewed 110%.
I walked through a plant. They actually do a lot of physical repetitive labor. I saw them picking up shocks and steering columns. I saw a lot of tape on their fingers and wrist braces. I can only imagine how many injuries take place that aren't spoken of.
@FlyEaglesFly19111 lol I think you need to see a modern factory. Yes we have hoists for heavy items but that means they can have you move faster and make more trucks. We put out over 400 vehicles in a shift on average, that means you do your job in under 1 minute and run to the next in line
You realize that the top management at the big three are all making over 20 million a year. You realize that all that money that is now being spent on workers that will now return to the communities was being spent on stock buybacks that just increased management bonuses. A few years back all the auto workers took cuts to save the big three. they were supposed to be temporary. These workers have not had real raises in years and prices have close to doubled. Lets as usual blame the workers

Cool. So trucks will start costing 200k soon. Awesome.
Awesome I trade in my C8 and get paid I keep my truck
Well, no GMC allocations here in Daytona, so no new truck for me!
Looks like my 2020 is my last new truck.
They've priced me out of anything I could normally afford.

2018 Black Silverado Z71 😎
I noticed they are only building the HIGH END trucks. Let them strike!!! WE THE PEOPLE are TIRED of them RIPPING US OFF.
its not the workers that are ripping you off. Its corporate greed. most make under $20 an hour. When vehicles go to Mexico the price doesnt go down.
Bro. These are people's jobs. 🤦

A new truck with all the bells and whistles should t cost more than 40,000!!!
It's gunna go up with what these workers want

76 hrs last week🤦♂️
I wonder how much money could be saved if they weren't a publicly traded company and didn't have to pay investors?

They gonna keep fucking around wanting 40$ an hour to put in windshields and they gonna totally replaced by robots sooner than later

$20.00 /hr. to "Build" a car? But $50.00 / hr. to deliver UPS packages? Sounds fair to me.

Watch the video again it’s not the full-time employees. It’s a temporary workers for $20 an hour.😢
Gm workers make $32.00 and up. Work is not hard. The contracted truck drivers get less and deal with alot more shit.
nobody can afford your overpriced cars anyways who cares
No cola= a NO vote
A week of UAW strikes. Should the GM CEO be sacked now that she's caused more trouble than what large shareholders paid her?
I know one thing I wouldn't buy a dodge
A dodge?
These workers are already compensated quite a bit more than the average worker around the country. I don't think they will get any sympathy.
