I think if you are going to play only 9 fighting energy, it's optimal to play 7 fighting and 2 psychic since fighting energy are relevant only alongside 2 "colorless" energy. That way you can cook some niche plays with mawile or comfey and make your opponent think that you have a mimikyu. Thanks for the great content Azul!

I've gone up to 2 hand clippers to avoid getting to the end and having Iono ruin your mill fun. Explorer's Guidance just feels so garbage 70% of the time too, so I've upped pal pad count to 3 to add more late game recursion. It's a fun deck to play.
Hey Azul! Could you make a post rotation matchup guide for zard and lugia? How to take down turbo future hands, future box, arctina, and mirrors for lugia and zard?? Maybe both zard versions but i prefer the pigeot ex build. This would be SOOOO helpful!!

I know this is a rather unpopular card right now, but I really love Palkia VSTAR, and I pulled a gold this weekend so I wanted to try out a deck for him, but I'm having a lot of trouble with this rotation. Are you willing to give a few pointers, or maybe even a decklist video?
Everything chill playing against Great Tusk until your opponent starts touching and discarting your cards himself, at that moment it becomes personal.

Which one tho? Cuz the one he plays is different from the one he displays at the beginning 🤣🤣 I was so confused last night when I was playing the deck last night and I was looking for cards he was playing but they weren’t in the deck

You have three pal pad. That adds up to maximum six Sadas. That means that in those six turns you will discard 30 cards, not to mention your opponent will probably not take prizes for those full turns, and you stalling them with mimikyu forcing them to grab cards from their deck.
Yeah, initially when I saw the list I thought it was pretty crazy but with the high count of Pal Pad, you really get them still almost every turn if you Pokegear as well. You do actually go through your deck slower without it tho (in the games I've played with it, Pidgeot V is less needed for you to not mill yourself) so you can brick sometimes.

Why don't you try xatu from paradox rift and clefairy from lost origin into one deck
Theres a card that can stop mill decks, its the bibarel from pokemon go set
If Great Tusk ever gets too dominant, that Bibarell could be the format's savior.

It does. You don't rely on dte tho because sada+attach is 2 energies and sada is the best ancient supporter for tusk

@connormackenzie4597 OK. My point still stands. It's a good option for a quick attack, but you need to run sada(the better of the 2 ancient supporters currently) and she accelerates basic energy.

Why is the list picture at start of video different to what deck he's playing in Game 1? There was no DTE in the Deck picture or Explorers guidance 😂🤷♂️🤔 Actual list?
I don't think explorers was worth it with the 4 card mill of your own deck
Yeah I think the list he posted at the start is the list he landed on, but other videos show early lists that he tried.
What i hate about this deck is your actively milling yourself as well. Seems like most of the time you are just inches from decking if you do manage to win

eh the deck is ok. This deck suffers from massive RNG. Hit Arceus league with it, but its nothing compared to other decks. Your hand gets locked way more than it should. Great tusk REQUIRES 8 Ancient trainers or you auto lose to hand lock. Its unfort but hopefully PTCG comes out with a new ancient supporter.
Honestly I really wanted to like this deck but it's so bad lol. Explorer is a bad card. Snorlax is the better control / mill deck.
Kinda have to agree here. Discarding 4 out of 6 cards a few times leaves you struggling to preserve resources for the end of the game. I have played against Ancient Box a few times now, and if you can apply early pressure, the deck falls apart in the late game.
