I know conversions are the stars here. but there are also the Housekeeping people cleaning up on the floor so you dont have popcorn flying off the panels hitting on the ice.
Thank you for this comment!! I am on one of those crews in Detroit, and we get absolutely no recognition whatsoever. We get looked down on like we are a lower class of human. Sickening!
The “Ice car” called a Zamboni doesn’t shave the ice thinner, it floods the ice with a thin layer of water, which quickly freezes, and makes the ice slightly thicker with a smoother cleaner surface!
@@whyshouldigivemyname It does shave the ice. But the operator can adjust how much is being shaved off, from nothing all the way to a full bucket (all the snow is stored in the top front compartment of the ice resurfacer aka the bucket). Then cold water is sprayed onto the ice inside the conditioner (where we cant see it) and that cleans out the skate marks and fills them with slush, excess cold water from this process is picked back up and sent back into the cold water tank. And finally hot water (140 degrees Fahrenheit) is evenly spread out of the back of the conditioner by the cloth towel. The amount of water laid onto the ice can be adjusted by the operator as well, typically you lay down as much water equal to the amount of snow you shave off, a full bucket of snow is usually equal to full water flow. The ice technicians will measure the depth of the ice with a drill and caliper on a regular basis in order to know where they may need to flood more or shave more so they can maintain a perfectly level sheet of ice
Keep applying for conversions through MLSE, over and over again....don't stop till you get the job. Also, don't give up if you get an interview and there are computer glitches just keep refreshing.

And then there's some of the places where the conversion folks help out with housekeeping on non-conversion nights.
A well oiled machine my friend. I worked in the office, but I saw them convert it over and over at our arena. Cool job at least 🥶

So the ice is always frozen down there? But the ice car always make the ice thinner. When will the ice become thick again?

@@whyshouldigivemyname Oh, thanks for clarifying that.
@@whyshouldigivemyname Yeah, I'm North American and I didn't know that either. I thought the Zamboni was just sanding/buffing the ice. Thank you!

That padding on the side of the basket looks like they gave it to a dog to play with
Why are the seats none of the same colors of the teams that play there?
The colours of the seats are supposed to be based off the ones from Maple Leaf Gardens.
They do roll out red seats for the Raps and like Lou said the Leafs seats are based off the old Maple Leaf Gardens set up.
Scotiabank Gardens
ScotiaBank Arena
Toronto Raptors
NBA TO NHL
It's gays, concerts etc! Hockey is not a concern anymore!!!
