However, the moment Jay Leno mentioned Whitney Houston, Kevin Costner crossed his arms and his mindset went straight into protective mode...During those days before Whitney passed away, anytime an interviewer would talk about The Bodyguard or anything pertaining to Whitney Houston; Kevin Costner would have the biggest smile on his face at just the mere mention of Whitney's name... I've never seen Kevin Costner react that way about any other female including his two wives....Truly Kevin Costner Loved Whitney.
Kevin had a crush on Whitney before they even met. He wanted Whitney for the bodyguard for two reasons 1. She was perfect for the role and nobody else could sing like her. 2. He knew he would most likely never get the chance to be with her in real life or get the chance to kiss her for that matter, so having Whitney in the film would give him a chance to experience her physically and emotionally without being in a relationship with her
