The button fell out of my boyfriends and he's been content (complaining buy accepting lol) of the fact that he has to jam his finger in there to shift lol. ordered him a new one and really wanted to change it as a surprise and I'm just amazed at how simple it is!

Great video. I have a 2002 Oldsmobile alero with the same clip technology in the shifter but I'm not able to get it out. I ended up breaking my flathead I was pressing so hard. Any suggestions for what I should do? I've searched every corner of the internet and cannot find anyone with a solution to my problem.

Turn on your car, apply the emergency break and keep the brakes applied. Then..
Move the shifter all the way back while keeping the brakes applied.

If I buy a new shift handle just the top part can I take off the old one and put the new one on or is it more complicated than that
