15min in...this is a bit like watching an intervention. I think players should have downswing thresholds where if you lose too much you just take a break no matter what. Breaks are really the only way to heal from severe tilt.

Airball was very smart to quit him. HU is merciless, you can go on a massive downswing very quickly and it’s very difficult to come back.
I had a horrible downswing after a sun run for several months. Took some time, studied more and took stock of the great things that my life encompasses. Now I'm back, better off for it and have been just playing more solid and things have really improved. Mental game STRONG

If you play this game long enough it humbles everyone. I like this version of Nik and wish him better luck. I know when the down swing ends for him he will really appreciate the wins and win with dignity.
Getting out of a downswing is a personal decision. Some people would need to take a break, maybe get far away from poker for a while. Others need to play their way out of it. Study more, look at hand histories, and remember: Volume cures variance.

it's variance if you are a long term winning player... 1000 hours minimum at your current stake that shows a positive win rate is the only way to know if you are a winning player..i doubt Nik has that many hours documented

With the way Nik busted onto the scene with the confidence he had in his skill reminded me of Durrrr when he showed up on Full Tilt and was stacking everyone, and then Antonius took on the HU challenge and kind of chopped his ego down some. But the difference between Tom and Nik, is Tom is a savant when it comes to Poker.
