Can't help but notice that "Most" of the drivers you were trailing NEVER used their signal lights to show their intent on the road, would be less accidents in the city if you showed EVERY driver what exactly you want to do while driving... Just saying is all

That's so nice of you.. you sound like a true Winnipeg'er.. we maybe crazy.. but we're still the friendliest city in Canada.. Wish you could have stayed.. Next time bring all your friends and we'll all have a drink while the band plays on...lol. ha just the true Winnipeg'er in me that's talking.. people from Winnipeg love people.. answer especially those who travel to this city that were willing to and love to sit down with such travelers and have a drink together and talk a lot ... lol. My home city! 😁 I often go for random drives around downtown and all the areas too late at night if I'm just bored. Another favourite is going for a complete loop around The Perimeter!
My home town! Many times ive gone to baked expectations in Osborne, worked at the misericordia, walked to or taken bus to Portage Place. Miss home big time. I live now out west

Nice video...have not lived there for over 20 years but its nice to see the never ending downtown projects continue. So much better now and more coming all the time.
Great video and so bright with all the great lights. The Legislature grounds were awesome and the snow makes it bright. Been gone for 12 years and I can see a few changes already but had no problem knowing exactly where you were during your tour.
Thank you, I enjoy the ride with you. The heart is heavy while watching it from Mauritius. Winnipeg was home for 35 years. I miss my boys Dale and Wesley, grandkids Telietha, Aazriel, Davian samyrah, Aleyah, Nikhil, Bastian.
Very nice quality video, Sunday Driver. I like how you showed a variety of perspectives while filming during this drive. May I ask how you were able to film the drive so well in dark conditions. Whenever I try and film a night drive somewhere, I get super bright flares from oncoming traffic and other light sources which are distracting.
Love seeing Winnipeg, bu really wonder why you did not drive around the Legislative building grounds to show the Christmas lights when you drove right past them, and why you drove past The Forks but did not drive through.
Hi! I asked about another video use but I would like to use a couple of these videos as background to a radio show I'm making a video of. If that is ok with you to use this, would you like credits put up as well?
I'm from Portugal and I have never seen snow in person. when I watch videos like this, it makes me wonder how people can drive while not seeing the white lines of the road...
Most people end up just following the ruts. I used to work a job where I drove most my shift and would end noticing after every big snow storm the ruts would kinda be in new places and none of them perfectly matched the lanes, some roads are standard two lanes opposite in summer but are wide enough in winter that when traffic is packed you'll see one direction of the road mysteriously has two lanes. Generally I feel like we all kinda just guess once the snow builds up over the year lol
Yes, after a while, i realized; hey, just move the cursor a bit! Doi. Ya, my home town. Left in 66 at the age of 12. Now, here i am watching this video on a west coast covid night in January at home alone. Where does one's life go? Happy New Year Winnipeg. Thanks for the memories. ss
That's a great idea. My son owned a restaurant on Osborne and everywhere I go with him; we have to allow hours for all the people he runs into that miss him and his restaurant.
The roads in Winnipeg are very bumpy, I though it’ll be better than my home country thanks god its clean even though some people said the opposite, visit big cities then make a decision
Ahhh Winnipeg my Lovely 😊 City 🌃 I also drive and wear my sunglasses at night 😎 (COREY HART) 😂 😂 😂 But I still Love ❤️ You Winnipeg my Winter 🥶 freezer...One time in middle of the day driving on Ellice st. to downtown I saw one Native KO another with one punch 🥊 just dropped flat... 😂
Because you are missing all the details in the dark. Also everyone here is cheap as balls so hos forbid you work in the service or retail industry. The roads are garbage, however in the winter they smooth out because the ice and snow fill in all the pot holes. Many people cant drive for shit because they go a to b every day to work and if anything changes they are just clueless. No matter what end of town you live in you will find the manitoba housing, which is free for subsidized, and its inhabitants sont take care if it so many areas that should be nice have these very trashy areas. The meth problem is so bad here right now but no one seems to be mentioning it. Turns out meth heads are spontaneous and stupid so they may just as well stab you for your 10 bucks at the local hortons. See those streets where the snow is cleared? We blow the cleaning budget every year before half if winter is over on workers who work for so many hours it would he safer having then just do an 8 hour shift drunk, so stay back 50 meters! There's more reasons if your interested?
Like every other city, Winnipeg has it's down side. We have a really really huge crime rate. All of last year there were so many robberies at Liquor Stores. The meth crisis is a really big problem here, but it's talked about a lot so I'm not sure what that other guy was saying. It's always on the news. The homelessness and racism is huge here, more frequent towards the people of First Nations. A lot of bad neighbourhoods. Racism is everywhere, but that's still not an excuse. And of course there's the the cold, but you're in Canada so most of where you go is going to be cold. Plus so far are winter has been very very good to us. But man, Winnipeg isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Summer's are super hot, good to go to the beach, cabin, whatever you want. Going to a Jets game is so much fun (before the game check out True North Square for good food and drinks), people are so passionate about it in a fun way. Especially if you go to a Whiteout party in the playoffs, people are super nice and fun and pretty much treat you like family. The Forks is probably the nicest place to go to. Good for eating (there's a restaurant plus food stands right on the St. Boniface bridge), great for shopping, you can drive your boat to it and park, go see a play or some outdoor festivals and you got the Canadian Human Right's Museum there which is breathtaking (The Forks is my favourite place to go to in Winnpeg). Right across from there you can go check out some baseball with the Goldeyes. At winter, the paths at the forks freeze over and make natural skating paths so you can skate all around the Forks. I'm not even a huge skating guy but even I think it's pretty cool and amazing to try. Go walk around the exchange and go to a lot of different restaurants and check out the bars, or just take a stroll and look at the cool old buildings. You can make your way right to The Cube and there's usually some kind of performances or activities there. Go checkout some more passionate fans by going to a Blue Bomber CFL game (2019 Grey Cup champs, wooo!). We even got a soccer team too now, if you're in to soccer. Walk up and down Osborne St. and there's a lot of great bars and food places to eat. I know there's some other stuff I'm missing but you get the point. Like every other city it has it's pros and cons, maybe more than most cities. It's definitely not a Toronto, Montreal or a Vancouver, but it's really not as bad as people make it out to be.
26:53 The Giant Tiger store where I buy groceries. I crossed that street as you're driving up to Giant Tiger twice tonight not more than an hour ago, to and from Tokyo Smoke, the marijuana store.
@CD Smith Yeah, but I think it's also less of a major city compared to another Canadian cities, having just surpassed Quebec city recently for the 7th biggest metropolitan population. Even Buffalo ranked low despite a climate closer to Toronto, along with mentions of Edmonton and Calgary. I live in Montreal, and tourists who lived in warmer climates always complained that the city is too cold for them. But yeah, Montreal downtown is more crowded, especially around Sainte-Catherine street. I haven't been to Winnipeg so I was curious how the downtown there looked like, it's pretty good, more lively than the Montreal growing suburbs like Laval for sure.
I'm from a small town in Ontario just a couple hours away from Winnipeg. I've been here over two years now and it's a stink hole. It's good if you have money you need and if you're just here for tourism or working. But if you're low income like I am, just be glad that you don't live here lol

Global TV in Toronto had a show like this in the 1980's with a similar name (Night Ride.) They also did Night Walk.

Carlos Matney or some deadmau5
I'd like them to crack their window open so we can hear the street sounds (and the crunchy snow) better.
