I was thinking, what if Itachi told hiruzen that danzo stole shisui eye? They could've use danzo as a scape goat, charge him with all acts of untrust that happened against the uchiha. And eventually offer Fugaku danzos seat as a hokage advisor. That could ease conflict a bit.
yo, we talking about hiruzen, he would be very slow to act and even then danzo still plot from the shadows and the other elder ppl would be swayed by danzo. Also, the moment the uchiha find shisui eye got stolen they going to start a coup detat and there aint no stopping them. That's why shisui commit suicide to prevent any blame to the village and prevent war.
When Hashirama said that he would kill his own child to protect the Leaf he unknowingly contradicted his reasoning for creating it in the first place,it was a place where children could live without suffering the horrors of war,but he would kill them in order to protect it.
u got to hand it to itachi, he saved the village when he was alive, even when returned reanimated he found a way to break from it and stop the reanimation jutsu and save it once again and bring back all the souls back except for madara, so madara is the only one left, he made things easy for for the shinobi alliance, i would say itachi is even greater than hashirama, he wasnt obssessed with power, he could have taken anyone's eyes and obtain the eternal magenkyou sharigan and stop his eyes from bleeding but he chose death

Perhaps he idolized the part of Hiruzen that was known as the Professor that learned over 1000 jutsu which sparked such obsession within him. Also to come back to the part when Orochimaru was talking about Sasuke's inner conflict - that might be also a reference to the scene when Orochimaru stabbed himself when holding Hiruzen. Hiruzen saw right through him and Orochimaru's "sleepiness" was a facade.

For me the difference between Hashirama and Madara is that Hashirama was ready to sacrifice certain people for peace. Madara wanted peace *for* his precious ones in th first place, so without Isuna this reality kinda lost meaning for him?.. I also ask myself how much Hashirama changed after the creation of the village and becoming Hokage. Bevore that he was willing to sacrifice himself instead of killing Tobirama, if it meant peace. Now that he has grown, gained more importance for other villages and became one hella important political figure, I wonder if he'd choose to sacrifice Tobirama if he had to make the choice a second time. I think..he'd really go for it. Update: I also think that many people sympathise with Madara's way of thinking more than with Hashiramas?.. Like "it's fine as long as my family/frends are safe", and so on. It would also be kind of upsetting to be someone close to Hashirama, since you'd just know that you'll never be his first choise :( It would be always the "greater good", the village.
Hashirama stated that he would even off his own child if he would threaten the village, which means if tobirama would have tried to bully uchihas while the first was alive, hashirama would have offed him.

The result would be stability and peace in the village either way, no matter who of them both dies. I believe that in that case he'd rather k/ll Tobirama, since he's less important from the political point of view and less important for the villagers than Hashirama. And this is just so sad :(
Madara probably thought that the battle was too exhausting for Hashirama to make a clone or couldn't activate his sharingan due to lack of chakra. But it seems that even alive Hashirama had unlimited chakra or at least the amount that is really hard to exhaust.
Danzo wasn't the necessary evil, he was the helluva dangerous warmonger Hiruzen wanted to push all the dirty work onto. You cannot rule the village without getting dirty. Hiruzen tried and I wish he didn't.
The worst thing about Sasuke's pain is that he has no one to blame for that. Not Itachi nor the village nor the Uchiha clan. And the fact he understands all that horror was the lesser evil doesn't change the fact his entire life was sacrificed to protect the Leaf without him even knowing. No wonder in his eyes the Leaf doesn't worth it.

It was already stated that during the era of warring states the individual clans existed as mercenary units. Hashirama wanted to endure and even sacrifice his own kin for the sake of the village. Madara meant you endure and sacrifice everything for your kin, not the other way around.
now them two are the skipping stones :) Hashirama got Madara from behind how fitting :P Im guessing it was because of Madara’s exhaustion that he missed it, he didn’t even have his Sharingan active, also got a bit complacent :) Hashirama had to grow as a person as well, he was forced to :) he reminds me of Jiraiya here with his philosophy, shinobi is the one who endures just like Jiraiya said and also the fact that anybody who would threaten the village shall be dealt with, we saw Jiraiya’s resolve when he told Tsunade that he will kill her if she threatens the village :) Sasuke put things into an interesting perspective, what the Infinite Tsukuyomi would mean :) gotta give one thing to Danzo, he was always decisive and willing to act for the sake of whatever he believed in :) ye even among the Uchiha there were those who inherited the Will of Fire, the wishes of Hashirama and the ideology that the village comes first, when you look at them Itachi and Hashirama kinda resemble each other :) its also true that during Tobirama’s reign the village was arguably doing the best, there were no real issues or anything and it was being developed well, things were working, he was very much a realist, he knew things aren’t ideal in the world and that you gotta think carefully about how you approach reality :) no Kagami wasn’t Shisui’s dad, descendant in the way he was not like offspring xD good to see that Hiruzen is very much self aware :) big thing was Minato dying that’s for sure if he could keep going as the Hokage things would have been different, better or worse :) love to see that in the end Sasuke decided to honor his brother :) perhaps in the end after reflecting the past Sasuke realized that hate is stupid :) poor Suigetsu he really wasn’t ready for what he signed up for when he tagged along with Sasuke xD now even the crazy bitch Karin is back so he can be her punching bag all over again :D Orochimaru must be so happy with himself seeing all this, love how tried to relate to Karin that was hilarious xD looks like Orochimaru in the end was able to learn from his two closest subordinates in Kabuto and Sasuke so we can thank them for this too :) so many great reunions on the agenda, cant wait :D
Hiruzen was Hokage for about 40 years and during that time the leaf village was always the strongest, it won every war and it allowed for a good life for the people. Just because they dont shows us 100 other events in which he did a good job doesnt mean he was a bad hokage. The uchiha stuff is something that has been going on from the inception of the village, to put all the blame in him is ridiculous.
Maybe the 3rd hokage would've done better if he had spent less time breaking into kids homes 🤣.. At least we found out where Orochimaru picked up those traits though 😂..
Haha pretty funny however if you are talking about him breaking into Naruto’s house, i believe it was stated that he allowed Naruto to live there and also payed him a weekly allowance so technically the 3rd kinda was like a land lord and had every right to “break” into his own property.
Tobirama is easily misunderstood by a lot of people. He never hated the Uchiha as a clan after the peace treaty. He just kept being on guard for those that are a threat to the village. Since he felt that the Uchiha was showing such signs, he relocated them to the remote corner of the village, and appointed them as the Leaf Police force to keep them satisfied by giving them a position of power within the village... although that kinda backfired. Unlike Hashirama, who was an idealist, he was a realist. He would ensure the safety of the village through any means...and Danzo inherited that, although it was more on the extreme end. Despite the way shown here how Tobirama behaved towards Hashirama, the truth was that Hashirama was the person that Tobirama respected the most... it's just that he's a damn tsundere lol.

The result would be stability and peace in the village either way, no matter who of them both dies. I believe that in that case he'd rather k/ll Tobirama, since he's less important from the political point of view and less important for the villagers than Hashirama. And this is just so sad :(

Madara probably thought that the battle was too exhausting for Hashirama to make a clone or couldn't activate his sharingan due to lack of chakra. But it seems that even alive Hashirama had unlimited chakra or at least the amount that is really hard to exhaust.
Danzo wasn't the necessary evil, he was the helluva dangerous warmonger Hiruzen wanted to push all the dirty work onto.

This is one of my favourite moments in naruto franchise, my other top 10 moments are coming up next episode
now them two are the skipping stones :) Hashirama got Madara from behind how fitting :P Im guessing it was because of Madara’s exhaustion that he missed it, he didn’t even have his Sharingan active, also got a bit complacent :) Hashirama had to grow as a person as well, he was forced to :) he reminds me of Jiraiya here with his philosophy, shinobi is the one who endures just like Jiraiya said and also the fact that anybody who would threaten the village shall be dealt with, we saw Jiraiya’s resolve when he told Tsunade that he will kill her if she threatens the village :) Sasuke put things into an interesting perspective, what the Infinite Tsukuyomi would mean :) gotta give one thing to Danzo, he was always decisive and willing to act for the sake of whatever he believed in :) ye even among the Uchiha there were those who inherited the Will of Fire, the wishes of Hashirama and the ideology that the village comes first, when you look at them Itachi and Hashirama kinda resemble each other :) its also true that during Tobirama’s reign the village was arguably doing the best, there were no real issues or anything and it was being developed well, things were working, he was very much a realist, he knew things aren’t ideal in the world and that you gotta think carefully about how you approach reality :) no Kagami wasn’t Shisui’s dad, descendant in the way he was not like offspring xD good to see that Hiruzen is very much self aware :) big thing was Minato dying that’s for sure if he could keep going as the Hokage things would have been different, better or worse :) love to see that in the end Sasuke decided to honor his brother :) perhaps in the end after reflecting the past Sasuke realized that hate is stupid :) poor Suigetsu he really wasn’t ready for what he signed up for when he tagged along with Sasuke xD now even the crazy bitch Karin is back so he can be her punching bag all over again :D Orochimaru must be so happy with himself seeing all this, love how tried to relate to Karin that was hilarious xD looks like Orochimaru in the end was able to learn from his two closest subordinates in Kabuto and Sasuke so we can thank them for this too :) so many great reunions on the agenda, cant wait :D

Hiruzen was Hokage for about 40 years and during that time the leaf village was always the strongest, it won every war and it allowed for a good life for the people. Just because they dont shows us 100 other events in which he did a good job doesnt mean he was a bad hokage.

Tobirama is easily misunderstood by a lot of people. He never hated the Uchiha as a clan after the peace treaty. He just kept being on guard for those that are a threat to the village. Since he felt that the Uchiha was showing such signs, he relocated them to the remote corner of the village, and appointed them as the Leaf Police force to keep them satisfied by giving them a position of power within the village... although that kinda backfired. Unlike Hashirama, who was an idealist, he was a realist. He would ensure the safety of the village through any means...and Danzo inherited that, although it was more on the extreme end. Despite the way shown here how Tobirama behaved towards Hashirama, the truth was that Hashirama was the person that Tobirama respected the most... it's just that he's a damn tsundere lol.
