Orochimaru is one of the most complex and interesting character in Naruto. He is not evil. He is traumatized because he realized very early on that human life is fragile. His parents, Tsunade's brother, the many shinobi war took. And since he was a genius, he thought he could find the Truth of Ninjutsu, the ultimate truth that only one who vanquished death could achieve. He dedicated his life in becoming a supreme being, whatever the cost, to transcend life and death boundaries. It made him into a wicke individual, a true mad scientist. I love this scumbag XD

@@quentinjones6877 the reason he's not evil is because he never tried to subjugate anyone. he didn't care to rule over anyone or conquer the world, he just wanted to to become immortal and to learn every secret in existence, by any means necessary. and his general disregard for life other than his own (note disregard, not disdain) doesn't make him evil. i think he sees life more like a game, and if he ended up dying without accomplishing his goal he'd probably just be like "oh well... guess it just wasn't meant to be". he seems to just go with the flow of things. i would say he's selfish, probably psychopathic, but he's too passive to be considered evil. also i don't think there was any hate in his heart, which is a big theme around the concept of "evil" in naruto. although i would be curious as to what orochimaru would see at the waterfall of truth... (note when i say "evil", i'm talking within the context of the naruto universe. not the way we would use the word in the real world.)

Orchimaru's a interesting case of a really downplayed Heel-Face Turn trope. It's not like he's all that repentant, but he does seem to have genuinely been humbled by his various defeats and recognized his way of living was not getting him any closer to his dreams. Better to cooperate a bit and mellow your methods rather than make the whole world your enemy.
All the hokages made mistakes in command of the village. Hashirama was negligent and naive in not seeing the darkness that Madara cited at the end of their fight. Tobirama made decisions based purely on his fear and hatred towards the Uchiha, not completely following the fire's will and causing more destruction than progress for the village. Hiruzen was lax letting people like Danzo and the elders practically take complete control over the village. In addition to being negligent towards Naruto and Sasuke, both orphans and victims of the Hokage's mistakes. Minato died so early that he didn't even have time to make mistakes. But as he said himself, if he had been alive, maybe a lot of things would have been different.

But who did that experiment on Jugo to give Sasuke that power? Orochimaru. He also trained Anko... and I think he actually adores Anko Kabuto and Sasuke as his students. People like that who don't show all their cards... hard to read, but he gives clues. Orochimaru actually had the same questions that Sasuke had and went a different way so he wants to see how Sasuke's way ends up - if maybe the outcome is better, Orochimaru knowing what he knows.
Tobirama even stated it's not entirely true that he hates them, meaning there is some truth to it, after all the Uchiha did kill his brothers. it's basically fact the guy was at the very least biased when it comes to the Uchiha.

Technically tobriama was not wrong... the uchiha did betray the village... but they did so because of how he treated them... but he treated them like that because of the threat they represented... it is a cycle... someone had to break it for things to get better and neither did... if the uchiha had stood their ground ofr a few more years in the time of the 4th no one would probably have remembered the threath of the uchiha anymore like all the kids were just amazed by sazuke... only the older people remembered that... and the uchiha were not even treated badly... they just kept feeling like other people were threatened... but if tobirama had not lightly "isolated" them they probably wouldn't even have felt that way for starters...

If you rewatch the flashback of Tobirama during Danzo's death, you'll also see he was leading the Escort Unit; which was comprised of 2 Teams in a joint operation. Team Tobirama consisted of Hiruzen, and Homura and Koharu (the 2 other current Leaf Elders). And the 2nd Team consisted of Danzo, Kagami Uchiha, and Torifu Akamichi.

Their argument is flawed because the Uchihas followed the will of fire, they were loyal to Leaf, so much so that they rejected Madara. The friction with the Uchihas only started after Tobirama's term, because of Tobirama's stupid actions, this stirred up the Uchihas. I honestly don't understand why would this make someone lose respect for Karin when others have been doing the exact same thing, Sakura and Naruto and others are just as quick to forgive Sasuke as much as Karin so did you lose respect for them as well or this is just a weird double standard or perhaps you never liked Karin to begin with.

If you rewatch the flashback of Tobirama during Danzo's death, you'll also see he was leading the Escort Unit; which was comprised of 2 Teams in a joint operation. Team Tobirama consisted of Hiruzen, and Homura and Koharu (the 2 other current Leaf Elders). And the 2nd Team consisted of Danzo, Kagami Uchiha, and Torifu Akamichi.

@Ignacio Jara I'm not saying that Tobirama is the ultimate culprit, but rather that he's also largely to blame, and that's something fanboys ignore. Because of him the conflict began.
Their argument is flawed because the Uchihas followed the will of fire, they were loyal to Leaf, so much so that they rejected Madara. The friction with the Uchihas only started after Tobirama's term, because of Tobirama's stupid actions, this stirred up the Uchihas.
And like I said, Kagami Uchiha doesn't prove anything, a single member doesn't mean anything to an entire clan, and like I said, the Uchihas were loyal, why didn't Tobiram treat them like Kagami?

Orochimaru was never a real villain. He was a better fit for Hokage then Tobirama, Hiruzen and Minato.
@@madmonkey40 Minato was a puppet, his political style was literally to do what Hiruzen did, yet Hiruzen stepped down because his way utterly failed. Wouldn't say Orochimaru was "stronger" then Jiraiya, as he didn't want to be Hokage. Orochimaru was able to think about others while Jiriaya just wanted to perv.
