    In this video, I show how to protect peach trees from bugs. One of the main bugs is the Plum Curculio. This bug is why many young peaches fall off the plant because the bug has attacked it. I could not understand why the peaches fell until I learned about the plum curculio. This bug lays a larva in fruit then it goes to another fruit and repeats the same thing. This will cause the fruit to fall or be attacked from within. The fruit will be no good for you. If you do not want to spray chemicals on the fruit or tree try these methods. The fruit tree spray that I used is organic and is called Surround Kaolin Clay. This product covers the fruit and leaves which stops the pest from damaging the fruit. The Plum Curculio does not like the taste of clay so they go somewhere else. The next organic method to stop these fruit pests is to use protection bags. These bags will prevent the fruit tree pests from destroying the fruit. These two methods work great together. When using the Kaolin Clay you must reapply after it rains or the bugs will get your fruit.

    It's good to see a man enjoying the fruits of his labour.Im In tropical north Australia, and i net the tree as soon as the fruit is set. Otherwise, i would lose all the fruit to fruit fly.

      HEY, Steve!!! You are right. I will be watching next season time I start seeing them form, and I will be baking them for sure. I did not know I had peaches on the tree until weeks into the spring.

    I purchased a 5 pound bag for $11 because I didn't want a 50 pound bag. I just got it in last week tho and yet to put it out. Kinda been watching the weather. The rain has been coming and going. All though my peach tree is very young I do plan on using the clay on it. Tfs

      HEY Gardening_today!!! Cool. How old is your tree? I planted that tree in 2021. It has turned into a giant. I used the chilly dog method yesterday so hopefully, in 30 days I have more trees.

      @@GrowSomethingTasty I purchased the tree last year and finally put it into the ground this year. It's a very young tree. I didn't buy it from a big box store. It was from a local farmer that sells to the big box stores.

      @@GrowSomethingTasty right!! Quick question! I have watermelons growing. Do you recommend covering those or I don’t have to worry about pests so much? They are hanging so not on the ground

    • @GrowSomethingTasty
      @GrowSomethingTasty  14 дней назад

      @TheDreamHaven I don't cover them. I just let them go. Now I know competitive growers cover their melons because they are so big. If I get one over 100 pounds, I will cover it like them. I am in a competition but these voles are killing me. I would not worry about unless you see something going on that troubling.

      HEY, blknblue77!!! It is a Baby Crawford Peach. I had to go check the tag. I planted that tree in 2021 and it has grown into a monster. Yesterday I performed surgery on the tree using the chilly dog method to make more trees. I videoed it and will release it next week or the week after.

    We have a peach that make a lot of fruit. How many peaches can be on a branch. Seems like they not making it to maturity.

    • @GrowSomethingTasty
      @GrowSomethingTasty  20 дней назад

      HEY, Kblackfoxx!!! It's not a number I can give you, but you have to be careful because branches could break. Your peaches are not making it to maturity because you need to thin them. If you don't take some off, they will never get big. It's hard to do but you have to.
