I read on something that there had been talk about a possible sequel where Harry was going to come back and reunite with the Henderson family. Was that ever actually planned or was it just being discussed before it was decided one would (obviously) never happen?
@@JLC-rm9bu Those rumors have been around for years, even as far back as a year after the movie came out but the TV show happened instead. Sadly the actor that played Harry passed away during the run of the series on Fox in the early days and that pretty much was the end of the show as the replacement, as good as he was, was not as good as the original who really brought emotion through the make up and suit.

It's a great song by any standard, and the film is vastly underrated and a touching, poignant film. I thought the script was great, with a great cast and fine performanaces and some scenes with Kevin Peter Hall that come in to the timecapsule. It also had a message which will always be relevent: Hunting for sport. Harry gave us the side of the animals, and very poinantly. When you consider the degree of difficulty in making a film about Sachquatch, this film was quite an achievement.

It is a magnificent song which should have been released commercially and played on the radio! It is among Joe Cocker's finest ballads!
It was released commercially in the states and abroad. I have the picture sleeve Italian 45 I purchased in Italy and found out a few years ago MCA did release a single of this song. The 45 mix is different. No flutes and before the flutes in the middle Joe says, "play some blues" and a blues middle is delivered. It's time for a reissue with that version and the film version. The soundtrack I was told had the single version.

This goes out the the late and always great Joe Cocker. He is, was, always was, and always will be one of my personal favorite musicians. It royally sucks he died so tragically. He is a music artist who sang so many wonderful songs with such great meaning.

BIG MISTAKE that Joe Cocker didn't record this on one of his albums -- other than just on the soundtrack. It's so HARD to find and it's as stunningly beautiful as "You Are So Beautiful"... Joe sure knows how to find those songs with lyrics that have a "velvet hammer" impact... those we'll NEVER forget. Bet there was an issue with rights to this song.
