I like the collage / pictures / images integration too. I first saw it when I read WG Sebald, I think he was one of the first to include pictures in the narrative as far as I can recall.
My god, the selections in the bookstore looked so interesting. I wish I had bookstores like that around me, not even the Barnes & Noble bookstores are nearby. Yep this was a learning experience for me, even if I PAY for a book, going forward, I will not force myself to finish it if it is incredibly distressing for me And omg the hello kitty cafe was friggin adorable!!! Everything on their menu was cute as! Congrats on the new job!!! if I was Prime Minister I would give tax breaks to bookshops and in particular, bookshops that were very cosy (there was an independent shop near Liverpool where I grew up that had a fireplace and a tea store with chocolate cakes in the kitchen at the back of a house next to it) and also especially, bookshops that are very unique and niche and original in their selections.
and along those themes. we just learned that Cormac McCarthy is revealed to have had a relationship with an underage girl when he was a middle age man. And Blood Meridian is a novel so violent it left me perplexed and numb and the whole question of depicting the dark horrors in literature never leaves me when I think of it. Its a masterpiece but I can't make sense of these matters.

I wonder if this Zealous Immaculate is supposed to draw ones attention to what happens to people in the real world? I mean, why write such a thing? Stephen Donaldson uses sexual assault in Thomas Covenant and there is huge symbology and purpose to it. I have a hard tome recommending the series as it's not for everyone, completely aside form the assault. But there are indeed high fantasy moments you'll never forget.
Yeah… it’s just the ENTIRE book is child SA….Which is too much I’d say the best chance to be recognised is in a book store or library. Since everyone who watches is a book lover. It was lovely but also very weird, made me realise that I am actually putting myself online
how do we depict horror and darkness without participating in darkness and horror. its something I think about in terms of literature. what does it serve to depict violence and abuse of children. I just wonder.
