Taino group's -
Organizations representing people with a mutual interest in learning about taino ancestry.
really good one. I am studying some of the tainos myself to make a comic book and it's fantastic how much it's been discovered even to this day.
That's awesome to hear nitiao. 💪
Thank you for mentioning Haiti we still have some of our Taino heritage into Haitian culture. We’re often left out the discussion when it comes to our Taino ancestry.
As an ethnic group the Haitian people arrived to the island via the French well after the Tainos admixed and we're hispanicized by the Spanish by the end of the 16th century. Taino ancestry is non existent in Haiti.
Excellent video here. Not only did you give a concise summary of who the Tainos were, but you demonstrated how we can participate in what the Tainos *are* today. Accepting one part of our heritage does not mean denying the others. We are all united in this admixture, and now we need to make sure that *all* the pieces get the recognition they deserve. Although I focus on the linguistics, all of these cultures share that same depth and richness only made richer with that distinct "Taino-ness" that connects us all. I can't wait for the videos you have in store
Great response nitiao 💪
Do you think alot of the people claiming Taino these days are people that are influenced by American and Canadian native groups that allow many people with predominantly European ancestry into their tribes? The thinking seems to be if they can do it why can't we.
Many taino groups and especially in the early days of the Taino movement follow the example of Northern groups. We are not northerners. We are descendants of Taínos. We can learn from our relatives in the south to connect with our native heritage.
So they weren't native to Jamaica? Just migrated and interminged there?
Looking at the map from 0:11 Jamaica is pink (800 AD). My family has no idea who were are and I'm struggling to find information
@@Shemecaa16 video was addressing Taino group's today who are mixed Descendants of Tainos in an effort to Ground the taino community who tend to lean towards being a cult. What kind of information your looking for on the migrations?
