I really liked this video and Peter is a great teacher and his felting tutorials are super. I made several flowers while watching the video as he guided me through each step. I am new to wet felting and this was a perfect project to do. My flowers were amazing and I am very proud of them. I have watched several other video by Peter and he’s one of the best teachers I have watched. Thanks Peter. Love you store too took the virtual tour.
Mr., this is the best class I have ever seen. I thought my method of making flowers was good but from your video I just learned how to improve my technique. Thank you very much for sharing your expertise.
This is the best demo I've seen on wet felting flowers. The results are so beautiful and exotic and different from all the other flowers I've seen. I look forward to more tutorials and have subscribed and clicked on the bell.
Thank you for your beautifuls flowers. I am living in France and I am trying to make flowers, not so beautiful like yours but i had à good time looking your video. Thank you very much .
Wow! This looks SO fun! I have a bunch of felt I bought because I wanted to try needlefelting. It's just been sitting there for a long time. I think this could be a fun project to use it on. These would look great on one of my hats! Great tutorial. You explained everything nicely.
Wonderful tutorial. It is difficult while your hands are wet to stay on screen all the time, but for me, it did not detract from the work. It’s interesting to watch other teachers to see how their process. Thank you!
These are brilliant - you are very skilled! This is such a well-explained instructional video. Only thing is, as others have said, what you are doing is off camera a great deal of the time from the point where you start rubbing the flowers between your hands onwards.
I am recently interested in felting...I've made a few felt balls and enjoyed the process. these flowers are just gorgeous! I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to learning more from you!
Is the water hot or cold or does it matter? What type of cloth is used to cover the wool before agitating it. Thanks in advance for any reply. Beautiful flowers. 🌲🌝☘️
Thank you so much, I haven't done wet felting in a while, And I needed to get my poppy done by a nearing deadline. Going from dry to wet. Your tutorial helped jog my memory on how its done and with one day till deadline it is done just finishing drying in the sun. PHEW
I'd like to see what you do with these after making them. they are beautiful and quite different from those I make. I generally make brooches with an alligator pin/clip combination on the back. Would love to know what you do to make them wearable.
I let the customer decide. Some add pin backs, some hair bands or berets, others see them directly onto something. and some people just use them as decoration around the home
I don't know where this is in Wisconsin but I wish I was your neighbor! Fantastic work and I love the flowers. Also would love that water tool! For felt and my plants.
Thnk you for the easy to understand and follow video. Your creations are so beautiful! You did not mention rinsing the soap out. Do you rinse or leave it in?
Maybe I missed it but how much soap did you put in your water? Looks like you have roughly a litter there? And many thanks for answering my previous question!
You could use sari silk. You would have to cut it to the proper length. And it can be a bit big. I have also found sari silk to bleed its color in cirtain instances
@@SpryWhimsy ah thank you..I'll try a little bit in my attempt and see how it turns out. I definitely like the bamboo wool though for its sheen ....can the flowers then be made into brooches etc?
I love to learn something new to add to the other talents I have and this video is a perfect tool for that. But there is one thing that made it visually difficult, some of the important actions were unseen. Still learned something new though.
I tried looking for that Palmolive free & clear, I don’t think it’s available anymore. What are you using in place of it. Thank you for your tutorials.
DO you mean rubbing with the palm washboard, or rubbing the flower with your hands? Rubbing with the palm washboard is faster than rolling for less than 5 flowers at once. Rubbing the flower in your hands is one of the quickest ways to full it as well as shape in into a 3d object.
QUESTION TO SPRY WHIMSY FIBER ARTS: I just subscribed to Peters video and I see a lot of questions that are not answered by either you or Peter. Does your shop sell any of the tools in a kit form or can a reference be added as to where to look for them. I'll just google "tools for wet felting" and see where it takes me.
I do try and respond to as many as I can, if they are a real question. Not the ones that translate something like 'what is it for waste of time, get a factory job". And since RUclips is international and i prefer not to ship outside the US, buy local and all that, I dont list them. But I do sell everything you see from the solar pool cover, to the fiber, palm washboard, ball sprinkler, and even the palmolive soap. But not knowing what people already have I dont want to force people into a kit with redundant products. If you want to get an item and live in the US I am happy to shoot a price. People email requests all the time
Spry Whimsy Fiber Arts Hi and thanks for your response. I live in Grand Rapids Michigan (we are neighbors) and am interested in a piece of the pool covering, the squirt ball and the round wooden felter. I have on3 without the grooves in it and wonder if it would be just as effected and the one Peter is using. I don't need a very large piece of the pool cover, as I work on small things. I know that in today's world, you'll get some crazy responses and questions. It's a shame that the internet brings a few out from under their rocks. :-) By the way, your store front looks really interesting. I'll bet I'd be spending time there.

I enjoy your teaching and I thank you for sharing.
I needle felted the basic shape then dampened it to do the rolling bit etc. It worked a treat. Thank you
Wow! These are stunning. I'm just learning as I got a gift. A felting kit. I was confused. Now I'm excited thanks to you

Thnk you for the easy to understand and follow video. Your creations are so beautiful! You did not mention rinsing the soap out. Do you rinse or leave it in?
A quick rinse before cutting. Not like I do in the other projects
What kind of fabric are you laying on top ? So no need for pool noodle or olive soap?
Прекрасные цветы. Спасибо. Вы мастер!
Maybe I missed it but how much soap did you put in your water? Looks like you have roughly a litter there? And many thanks for answering my previous question!
A squirt. Enough to make it break the surface tension. But not enough to make it frothy.
I was so nervous about wet felting but you have really inspired me to have a go at this ...can I use Sari silk in the flowers too?

AMAZING! THANK YOU!
Glad you like it!
hi! much thanks for the tutorial
what is the benefit of laying all the layers in the same direction (instead o one layer perpendicular to the other )?
If I want a flat felt then I lay the fibers in different directions.
Laying them overlapping radiating from the center allows the pedals to be shaped
@@SpryWhimsy thank you!
what is the wooden rubbing tool you use? can it be purchased through your store? Thanks!
It is the palm washboard. We stock it in our shop.
I tried looking for that Palmolive free & clear, I don’t think it’s available anymore. What are you using in place of it. Thank you for your tutorials.
I had been getting it at Target. And I beleive I just saw it at Walmart for the first time
Awesomeness❤❤❤

Buenas tardes donde puedo conseguir en colombia esos implementos para trabajar la lana
Very beautiful. Thank you.
Really nice! Thanks
Класс!!!!Мужчина и такие нежные цветы,браво!!!!!
Would cheese cloth work in place of your "fabric"?
It would catch the fibers I beleive. Some nylon thrift store scarf would be better
Hi , thank you 😊 for sharing!!!! Is rubbing the equivalent to rolling ????
DO you mean rubbing with the palm washboard, or rubbing the flower with your hands?
Rubbing with the palm washboard is faster than rolling for less than 5 flowers at once. Rubbing the flower in your hands is one of the quickest ways to full it as well as shape in into a 3d object.
Yes , thank you 😊
Rubbing verses rolling on pool noodle !!!
Thank you Petter !
I learned a lot I’m going to try ! Wish me luck !!!
Can you share where I can get the coloured bamboo fibres from please? I'm in Australia, so not sure if I'll be able to find them here.
Beautiful
great video! can you make a blanket out of them by sewing them together by hand or is that not really possible?
It would be more like an Afghan. But possible. That would be a LOT of flowers

I'm new to needle felting and have only attempted dry needle felting. What are the advantages/disadvantages of wet felting over dry felting?
Speed and strength in the finished product. Needlefelting is best for fine detail work
Mr. Peter S. Whimsy, What is Bamboo that you say you use? And where would i find it? Sincerely in love with the flowers and the glimmer on them.
I get my bamboo luster fiber from Living Felt. They have a great website!
