Beautiful learning lesson as always David! It amazes me how you bring each bird to life with a knowing of their personalities, tones & brush marks. Love the stories you tell. This would have taken many hours of focus & study to understand their true core. What amazes me even more is that you do this with each genre you teach!! Thank you ever so much!
Love your bird, David, and the more you painted...the bird became real. I agree..adding different colors to any painting makes it more interesting. Appreciate your desire to teach us..
The blue Jay Is such a stunning bird. We get to watch them pretty up close as they frequent our feeder just outside the window. All your birds are awesome Dave! I love it when you have a new bird video.
This was extremely valuable since I was going to be painting a blue jay, especially to realize the different blues in the bird. Appreciate all the wonderful guidance so much!
I'm in awe at how beautiful this is. How much justice you gave that beautiful bird. I just found you by accident and you are a true master. A great teacher, how you explain every step so clearly and patiently. Gorgeous. New subbie here!
Hi David! I’m loving your videos and embracing texture and movement. Have you ever been interested in seascapes? If so, I’d be excited to hear your approach to the color and textures of a coral reef as well as how water plays into the composition. No pressure if not, I’ve really been enjoying your content!
I find my hand begins shaking when I have to paint fine details, the tip for using a rest is brilliant, I will definitely start using one too and beautiful artwork as always 😊
OMG, awesome... your picture of a bird from an actual one is so beautiful. The way you mix and color the bird is also very similar to the model. However, I regret not being able to see how you sketch the bird in pencil, because I am learning how to draw with pencil, it will help me. But I also thank you for sharing the art.
Love your videos on birds. Would like to see more American birds like robins, red wing blackbirds, and songbirds that we may see in our backyards. I've painted some of your other birds. I also love your flowers still trying to get the techniques in your roses and flowers right. It is somewhat difficult to try to do just one strokes like you do to get your results. LOL. I've just started painting by watching you tube videos for about a year and half now. Keep the videos coming.
Great brush work here David! I love the colors of the blue jay, they annoy me when I’m in the woods tho with their loud cawing lol. Thanks for another awesome bird lesson!!
David you are a great artist! Even if English is not my mother language, I love your clear accent, it is so easy to get you. I was wondering if it's possible to see the end of your works. Or ..I don't know if you don't finish them as a stratergy or something. I refer to the blu bird, the horses and the eagle which I loved the most. Great job Simon from Milan
Good morning Dave, loving your site, beautiful work, very happy to have found it. Your discussion of colors and value is incredibly well understood, and your demeanor is really pleasant. THANK YOU sir for sharing your artwork and making such a wonderful tutorial. Andrew’s Cross , new to me, can’t wait to experiment. Do you have an IG or FB ? Have a great day! Best wishes, Glenn R Personal note; my Father was a blue jay LOVER! I look forward to painting this beautiful animal in his memory, He’d get so excited when they were in the yard. Thanks again.
Thanks for this beautiful painting ...I have loved every bird painting you have done .. I am proud of my kookaburra that I learnt from your lessons some time back ... I do have a question ... The last 20 seconds of your painting. Fishing the shadows .. You said for the members there is a floral coming the next day and a tray ... I’m in south Australia and it’s not been posted , I might have a problem with my I pad if it has been posted ? The last one posted for me is the Valdres Rose ...Hope you can help Thankyou David
Do you have a video talking about what draws you to acrylic paint vs oil? I’d love to hear. I’ve been using mostly oil for a year and I’m considering going back to acrylics
Oil has been associated with brain cancer. The reason a lot of people have quit using it. You can buy extenders to make acrylic act like oil. I've personally known 3 painters that were friends who painted with oils and died of brain cancer. I won't touch it myself.
Hi Tiara, I use to paint with oils until I had a bad health scare in my 30's. I then switched to acrylics and never went back. Modern 2K acrylics can so the same techniques as oils when used with modern mediums and techniques. As a paint chemist for 35 years I really believe in them. Most people are shocked when they see I am painting in acrylics. You just have to paint with them as acrylics and not try to paint with them as oils. 🙂

Can you do a butterfly?
I did one on the channel a little while ago. I can do another, but there is a really nice video with one.
@@JansenArtEducation Oh sorry, I'm new on the channel. I'll look into it! Thanks!
Please do an eagle
I have a couple of times. Check the channel, he is there. Will do more in the future as well.
