As a lifelong Deftones fan I love this song. White Pony will likely be the most requested album which good but I prefer Diamond Eyes. Around the fur and Adrenaline are great if you want a more raw alt metal listen.
am with you, from the 1st time i heard Chimera i felt it was very deftones like. As far as album goes Around the fur, adrenaline and White pony are killer albums in my book
@@RageForSeven I am a die hard Koi No Yokan fan tbh. All the albums are great but Koi No Yokan, the new album, Diamond Eyes, and White Pony are amazing. If I want raw I go for Adrenaline
Lead Singer? Nah.. Chino would lock them into that kind of music with such a singer. It's a good song, but Polyphia doesn't need to be restricted to a set genre.. No..
@@montreauxs not entirely true... Chino has a pretty visceral scream (Deftones - Elite is a great example), so there's definitely room to play. But i do get what you mean, Chino tends to mostly stay in this "moaning" range, which works beautifully for Deftones, but it would definitely restrict Polyphia.
This song is a reason for me to listen to more Deftones. I've known of them for years now, listened to Diamond Eyes and enjoyed it. Yet never went in full to their discography... Until after Bloodbath. With that said, I highly suggest if you liked this song, you listen to White Pony in full next. Although I haven't listened to Deftones' first album in full yet, White Pony was an eye catcher. I wanted to start from the beginning yet, White Pony was calling to me due to the name. You should start there.
Deftones are a bit weird when you first start listening to them... You pretty much need a starter pack of songs to actually start liking them. Here are some great songs to start off with (from each album) *Adrenaline (1995)* Bored Birthmark *Around The Fur (1997)* Be quiet & drive (far away) My own summer (shove it) *White Pony (2000)* Change (in the house of flies) Digital bath Knife prty *Deftones (2003)* Minerva Needles and pins *Saturday night wrist (2006)* Cherry waves Kimdracula *Diamond Eyes (2008)* Diamond eyes Beauty School Risk *Koi No Yokan (2012)* Swerve city Rosemary Gauze *Gore (2016)* Hearts/wires Phantom Bride *Ohms (2020)* Genesis As for full album listens, they're all great but it's probably best to start with either Around the Fur or White Pony... Or go chronologically to fully appreciate the evolution.
can't get my head around Polyphia's sound at all...tried many a time to sit through one of their albums and it just does nothing for me. But this song's sound is so attractive to me...shame the rest of the album is so different sounding!! The mix of styles they incorporate kinda puts me off. Best Deftones album?? Koi No Yokan. White Pony is the obvious pick but everyone else will say that...always found myself listening to Koi more...doesn't bore me as much as some of the tracks on White Pony.

"This visualizer is incomprehensible."

underoath in the background is nice
Best band ever!
I wish they did a whole album with Chino. It sounds like a more mature version of Deftones.
I'd be so down for that!
