    Greetings from a Tiny Island in Maine, USA Thanks for another good video subject.
    Mine is a CRKT Crawford design Point Guard.
    It has a 1/2 serrated blade and has taken a fair amount of abuse over the last 24 years and still performs well.

    Love that beat up Mini Grip. I have a plain jane fullsize Grip and a mini Grip that serve as beaters. I also have a stock Bailout that gets used in the same capacity.

    My Spyderco Gayle Bradley 1 in M4 is my oldest beater and next in line would be the Benchmade bugout in S30v and now am putting an Ad20.5 in D2 and a Ganzo D727M in D2 into the beater knife rotation.

    I use almost all of my knives but my go-to beaters are probably my Spyderco Pacific Salt 2 in LC200N and a Demko AD 20.5 in K110 like yours. Absolutely love LC200N. Probably my favorite steel. Sharpens easy, great toughness, stain proof. For some reason the 20.5 with the plastic scales never clicked with me as a daily carry, but it's a great beater. I have another 20.5 in AUS10A with some micarta scales, and they transform the knife, love carrying that one.

    I use a gerber fast the same way you use that mini grip. It's used as a scraper and prybar way more than an actual knife, but the only real damage (2 broken serration "teeth") has come from cutting.
    I use a Spyderco Q-Ball as a bench knife. I use it a lot for marking and deburring, but it's probably a 50/50 split between that and actual cutting. It has an 8dps bevel on it, and hasn't been sharpened in 2 years but can still scrape shave arm hair.
    For "outdoor" cutting (wood type things, light batonning), i use a mini K2. .2" thick stock, 5 thou bte chisel grind. Possibly my favorite knife, would definitely be my favorite if it was actually a right hand chisel grind.
    For just pure, basic repetitive cutting, i use a k390 police or se k390 Endura.

    The nice thing with a gb2 is you can adjust the detent. Open and close it a few hundred times and the ball wears down to nothing

    I've been using the Griptilian for my work knife for 9+ years! Only knife to come close to dethrowning it was the Manix 2. However I couldn't open/close it as fast so it got the boot. I like the Griptilian so much that I built three pristine Grips for my daily carry outside of work.

    Currently a Mcnees Mac 2 3.5 gen 2 - pry and cut with it. I’m sending a xm18 3.5 to bgm to get my tip back cause I’ve sharpened and beat the shite out of it. Pm2 from 2012ish still going strong. No screws left, clip intact, sharpened to death.

    Nice videos and nice knives👍🏻
    It depend what I am doing but my usual rotation is:
    PM2, Civivi Qubit, Civivi Vision FG, Cold steel 4Max and few others Spyderco.
    For me no more Benchmade du to their indecent prices.
    For fixed blade, I use my ESEE 5 and a Buck 891 GCK (ground combat knife) witch is discontinued because too expensive to produce. Bu it's a great knife made in 5160 steel

    I have an old zt 0350 circa 2012 that is almost as beat up as that mini grip. I’ve actually stopped using it because it’s served its purpose and now I keep it for sentimental value, I know they are still in production but it’s really the last of the old zt’s and who knows for how long it will continue to be produced. it’s been through a lot and it was a grail knife to me when I got it. I was young and naive and thought it was using some impervious steel called s30v so I just trashed it hard. Ended up having to glue the thumb studs back in since they act as a blade stop and it fell out under hard use. Now I’m my older years I’ve learned to sharpen, gave it a good 17 degree edge and put it away to retire. Nowadays I’m just running a giant amount of different knives in different steels to see what I like best, most of my hard use folder stuff is done by either a 4max scout or an ad10 lite because I look at those as pure user knives and I don’t mind aus10a even though it’s not a great steel.

      @Outpost_76  3 месяца назад

      I like Aus-10 more that many steels. It gets a lot of hate but it's much better than any 9cr18, 8cr13 and so on.

    Outpost, I’m thinking of getting a Spyderco shaman. The two steels in the versions I like and are available right now are m4 and s90v. I think m4 and s90v are both great steels but I think I’d rather have m4 on a bigger knife like the shaman is. I think steels like 15v s110 and s90 belong on smaller less hard use knives. Do you agree with my statement if you to be buying a shaman what steel would you get? (Cruwear isn’t a option that might been my 1sr choice

    • @Outpost_76
      @Outpost_76  Месяц назад

      I'd go for the M4,I enjoy S90V but the Shaman blade geometry isn't thin so S90V would be out for me.
