The greatest header of a ball I have ever seen. One of the all time greats and a man I had the pleasure of speaking to on a couple of occasions and he had time for you too.Bless you Denis.”KING”👌
How Denis LIVED was anything but sad. An old school Scots footballer from Aberdeen. Tough, street-trained, fast in mind and body, highly intelligent, funny, and a man for ALL football fans. All the kids of my generation were Denis in their own mind.
He lives in a lovely house with his lovely family. He is happy & content, so don't let these click bait titles fool you into thinking these people are destitute & lonely!
The Kop always gave him a good reception when Utd played at Anfield. Bill Shankly was his manager at Huddersfield, Kenny Dalglish idolises the great man. Denis is a humble man, a passionate man who represents everything that is good in football. He has few equals in the history of professional football and it is befitting of the great player he was that a statue was built outside Old Trafford depicting Denis in that iconic pose with his arm raised alongside Bobby and George. His hometown of Aberdeen afforded him the same accolade. A true legend if ever there was one.
First saw DL play around 1959-1960 when aged around 10. Drew 1-1 in the FA Cup at Huddersfield, then a replay at Upton Park on a snowy pitch on a mid-week afternood. Law took us apart, Huddersfield winning 5-1! Always a class act. Just a shame that this clip completely omits Denis speaking for himself.
Bumped into Dennis with his family at Manchester airport many years ago...everybody passing would shout hello to him and he had a smile and kind words to every single one...a true gentleman and a brilliant footballer
AS A SCOT'SMAN! I THINK THAT DENIS LAW, WAS ONE OF THE BEST FOOTBALL PLAYERS OF ALL TIME!! AND A TRUE GENTLEMAN!! THAT IS JUST WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A TRUE SCOTTISH GENTLEMAN!! 😮😮❤😅😅
Too many inaccuracies and some very repetitive visuals sometimes in the wrong context. I watched Denis from when he first played for Huddersfield Town, 100% commitment from a skinny teenager, later attending most of his Old Trafford career. What a fantastic never-say-die team player and a wonderful entertainer.

One stat you got wrong was Denis never played in the European Cup final he was injured - but even though he played for City after he left United - he's always remembered as a legend at United hence his nickname - The King.
Met Dennis Law at Manchester Airport, got a smile and a chat, nice fella, brilliant footballer he used to jump in the air and wait for the ball, never seen anyone head a ball like Dennis .
10:36 Methinks that is the goal that Denis scored for Manchester City that condemned Manchester United to relegation from the 1st to the 2nd Division. He wasn't celebrating. Class man.
It was,my friend and he had United haters like Mike Doyle desperate for him to winf up United fans but he did not and shrugged off their congratulations after that goal./
Though not a Man Utd fan Denis was my football idol as an 12 year old in 1963. I remember in the 1990s when a lad in my son’s football team went for a trial at Manchester City. Denis Law walked out of the offices and the lad’s dad said all the lads there looked on in amazement as all their parents forgot about them and dashed over to surround the great man. The lads and their parents were from all over, not Manchester which showed the regard he is held in.
he was also a gentleman, the most important accolade of all.his goal sent manchester united down to the second division.he played in the glory days of football.before money became an absolutely astronomical commodity.he was a superb pundit on the big match.i thought that he had ended up in poverty but he may have dementia.that is an awful demise and decline.her majesty lived for eons, then died pretty quickly and cleanly.nobody wants a neither or slow living death lasting several years.we're all terrified of the future and the unknown.the future finds us all eventually!
These guys earned relatively little money in comparison to todays footballers but therewas no historyonics, they just got on with it for the love of their club, country and the game My mother who is 91 has the same condition as Denis and I know how sad it is especially for his family. I wish them all the best
My strongest memory of him was Bank Holiday weekend in August 1968 when Man.Utd came to Hillsborough to play my team Sheffield Wednesday. He scored twice, George Best once & a screamer from Bobby Charlton. They were 4-2 up afte 30 minutes yet still managed to lose 4-5! Sadly there were no cameras there from Match of the Day so there is no record preserved for posterity. It was a privilege to see 3 of our greatest footballers do what you hope to see & still one of the most exciting games I have seen in a lifetime of football.
When I was a young lad back in Ireland ,Man Utd was my team.It was because of Best ,Charlton and Law,the greatest trio ever in British football. These days I'm a Celtic supporter but I can never shake off the love I had for these three great players. Two have gone to their eternal reward RIP,All I can say is may God bless Denis Law in his final battles.✝️

I was lucky enough to see you play for man u and scotland. it was a joy watching you i hope you can battle your illness with the same strength as you battled on the field.
Denis Law a great player ...you feature some important health matters and how he helped people to cope with similar problems. On the playing side, others have commented on errors on MU and MC. I saw him play many games for Scotland. 1974 He played against Zaire but not against Brazil or Yugoslavia. I was lucky enough to be invited to the team hotel after the Yugoslavia match. Denis was competitive even in fun activities in the hotel... Next time I met him was when he was in Munich after Nottingham Forest won the European Cup.
So sad Denis Law is my school boy football hero. I had a Manchester United shirt printed 2 years old, with Law 10 on the back, as a show of support for my hero. My Auntie had dementia.
As a Lifelong Arsenal Fan.My biggest regret was us not signing Dennis. We were in for him,as I recall. But we refused to raise our offer to match/exceed that which Manchester United were willing to offer.
One of the best players I have ever seen.... him play for both CITY AND UNITED wish 🤞 him All the best 👍 ...in 1974 he gave me a ticket 🎟 for the league Cup final against Wolves he his a true Gent .
the title is misleading, it made it seem like DL was a sad old man, when in fact it was a very positive article. DL showed his strength of character both on the pitch and off and the dementia seems to have been handled with dignity and respect. He was an outstanding football player, mentor and a gentleman.
Excellent picture footage. Very poor research ,No mention of Torino. He never played in the 1968 European Cup Final due to injury.Manchester United were relegated due to other results not by his back heeled goal for City.
What a poorly researched video. Little detail about his time with Huddersfield, briefly at Manchester United before his move to play in Italy. Too much about Manchester City which was a very small period early in his career and briefly at the end of his playing. He didn’t transfer to Man Utd from Man City! It was the other way around.
This is from Google. An American company. Have never had deep abiding love of the game .. Now Johnny come lately Look at guy who bought Chelsea for the wrong reasons.
A couple of factual errors in this film. Denis was not transferred from Manchester City to United directly in the early 1960s. He had a spell in Italy in between, Also, he did not play in the 1968 European Cup Final.
Most people’s lives at the end are ‘sad’ and all that can be done is to make them feel comfortable and secure. As a Liverpool supporter I watched Law, Charlton and Best etc at Anfield and of course on TV. Rather than focus on sadness I would rather reflect on a great player who will leave a lot of good memories. One other point, yet again the impression is given that Law’s goal for City caused United to be relegated. That is not accurate, United would have gone down even without that goal!
The King went from Man City to Torino and from Torino to Man U. He never played in the European Cup final as he was injured. Kindly update your narrative
This was a poor effort, There were to many black and white clips also 4 clips of Denis relegating United. There is tons of material of the man scoring for club and his country. You did not do synch the video with the audio very well. The Audio itself was crap I would guess it was AI generated as too often it was basically the same words repeated over and over. Denis Law is a legend and deserved better
Why sad ? How do you know he's sad? Are you his mother or wife? Someone commented that every post you put up states' how he now lives is sad.Come on, be real! .That type of sickness naturally comes with old age.
United would have got relegated even if they wouldnt have lost, and he never played in the European cup final. No mention of the ilagitamet child he had at huddersfield which was adopted
Just a comment M he didn’t play that night he was injured & watched from a hospital bed sorry don’t mean to be cleaver just wanted to put the detail right Warm regards M
If I've got this right.. I went to his testimonial, against Ajax ... alas The king was out injured, tho' United won 1-0 .the full back Alex Forsyth scoring.. hope that's correct, but it's a long time ago, The Doc was the boss, I think.
I think Man City refused permission for the King to play in his testimonial v Ajax as he had signed for City for his last season in football when it was staged.
A total legend on and off the park a credit to his family and himself god bless him 🙏
What a player,,,he was awesome,,,,one of my all time favourites,,,,bless you Denis,,,,King of old Trafford,,,😊

Stop. this sensational isn't headlining of your videos we D 'ont need this crap to watch a great footballer and great man as well
Best Law Charlton. It truly does not get any better. Not even a United fan.
The Greatest for me as a Footballer. The players who celebrate today a goal should look back and see how he celebrated and learn respect!
At 85 most people live a sad life! Dennis Law, a complete legend!
He lives in a lovely house with his lovely family. He is happy & content, so don't let these click bait titles fool you into thinking these people are destitute & lonely!
That’s good to know thank you

Absolutely. Poor guy has dementia and failing eyesight, but is very much cared for and looked after. Where do they get this rubbish from
That’s great news👍

Denis Law KING That's what we used to chant in the Stretford End back in the 60's. One of my lifelong hero's as all the Red Devils were back then.
One of the greats.I wish you all the best in your struggle to fight this awefull disease.
Awful
I'm a Celtic man but Denis Law was one player I always wanted to see playing, a legend of the game and an absolute gem of a man.

True. 18 year old Brian Kidd played instead. And scored!
@@stevekenney2804 19 year old Kidd. I may be wrong , I think it was his birthday on that day. Still, 18 or 19 Brian Kidd was also a great player.

Several fatual errors. The worst one is his contribution to the '68 European Cup Final. He didn't play in that one due to injury.

I attended his united testamonial..and have a signed program by the king himself..a treasured possession..from a truly great man....
Denis Law did not play in the European cup final v Benfica. He was in Ancoats hospital recovering from a knee operation.

He did go from City to Utd, but via Torino.

He was amazing and brilliant but, didn't play in the 68 final as he was injured. He isn't known as the "King" for nothing
I saw him play at White Hart Lane around 1961. Every time he got the ball near goal his shirt was grabbed. Very disappointed.
