Great video! One thing I’ve read a lot about is saving the tires since they seem to be the greatest expense on a Tesla. Chill mode seems to be the way to go in that regard.
getting mine tomorrow or Saturday and i have binge watched every model y video you tube has to offer lol...and i now know mine has 0-60 in 3.5s which is absurd.... Thank you so much for the info!!
We have the same color on my 2 week old model y performance. Watched your video to see the differences, I prefer the chill, standard and hold option since I drive with my family. I tried switching to sport once when I was by myself and found out that this car is a monster, what a difference.
As a Tesla Model Y owner I applaud your review of the driving modes and like most new Tesla owners after an hour or so we end up with the settings you ended up with. One Pedal Driving is awesome once you learn how to use the throttle to control your speed/stops. I have actually gone DAYS without ever using the mechanical brakes. It's a game we play. Again a great review and demo of a Tesla's drive modes.
The push of the pedal feels like any other car but the response of the car from it is instant. You can hammer it and get sucked back into the seat or you can gently ease into it .. whatever your driving style is, it’s much more smooth and responsive than ice cars. In my opinion as owning both, Tesla’s offer a far better driving experience than ice cars do and it’s not even close. Are you thinking of buying one?
@@Johnny2Feathers I am supposed to borrow one for a short trip and i don't want to do anything to cause a crash. I'm afraid that if it takes off suddenly, I may hit the car in front.
@@pedrofernandez8729 nothing to worry about .. it only responds the way to want it to. The more force you apply to the pedal the more power .. less force then less power. A couple minutes driving around an empty lot and you’ll get the feel for the pedal and the responsiveness of the car.
Nice video. Now I know why my arms hurt sometimes at the end of a long drive. I can hardly wait to change it out of sport steering tomorrow when I’m at the supercharger. Thanks again for that awesome upload that was fun.
Hahahah, yes. I confess I've enjoyed the uptick in the traffic from the Tesla reviews so I have shamelessly made more than a few Tesla reviews. But...I'm shifting focus now back to non-Telsa vehicles...for now. :)

Do any of the settings affect ride comfort at all? For example, do the suspensions change character?

I wish they had a suspension mode for comfort vs sport. I can't even drink my coffee when the vehicle is driving.
@@passing_bye5991 Yes sir. My next one perhaps. I did notice it was the bumpy road I was on too.
Are you on the 19" or 20" and what are you inflating the tires to?
Is the accelerator super sensitive, or more like a traditional car?

@@pedrofernandez8729 As long as you don’t floor it you’ll be fine, especially if you’ve drove any other somewhat quickly accelerating cars
Lol 1st time gave me nausea the one pedal stop lol
I love your expressions and magnifications
I wish there was a comfort-sport steering setting.
Is this a Model Y Performance ?

Great video, you sound like the “Man with the yellow hat” from Curious George
Haha.. I do sport when I'm alone.. chill when the baby and wife is in the car.
I'm gonna go out on a limb but I'm gonna say you're driving in Schamburg.
Tesla has to add standard acceleration as well cuz the difference between sport and chill is huge
Amazing video!!!! This is should be first video anyone watch before taking delivery!!!!
Sport all they way 💪🏾
the best video on driving setting for Tesla Model Y is this one
Do you have to change the stopping mode if you are driving in a highway?
Awesome video Jerry!😸
Thanks Ryan!!!
@@100RentalCars you’re welcome
Fantastic video! Very informative! Thank you!
Good video we test drove one yesterday I wish I would have tested the modes like you did. We only had 20 minutes.
So do u get more range on chill mod?
I have a 22 model 3 performance and u get about 5-7% more range. Its not drastic, but u can still save a bit of money longterm.
Welcome to the Tesla convert You tube channel

There's one thing other EV makers like Hyundai did better than Tesla...putting levers on the steering wheel dedicated to the regen setting.
