Their current videos show a maturity and confidence - they continue to grow and improve. I have LOVED this song for years, but this version - it gets me every time.
What I like about that performance is that it doesn't seem rehearsed. It's as though they just walked on set, moved around as they saw fit and just let it all out !!! Perfection 🥰
How they can be so close to perfection and still level up, I do not know, but they have. There IS more depth. I loved that there was a sort of looseness to this, and yet it was completely cohesive. I have always loved this song, it's among my all-time favorites, and they OWNED it. They continue to grow as artists, and this seems to be our intro into the next level of the evolution of PTX. They are the evolution masters, after all, lol! I really can't wait to see what they do in 2024!
They have matured personally and professionally. Their voices have evolved. I saw this in concert on Dec 21. It sounded just as amazing in an event venue with about 20k people. Love your reactions. 🔥
This performance is really rich and mature musically and vocally. They are stretching their artistry both individually and as a group in this number. They aren't kids anymore, and their performances are informed by that. I've been hoping you would review this, and I am so glad you enjoyed it. I strongly recommend you check out their other new pieces - "Pure Imagination/Christmastime Is Here" and "O Holy Night." The vibe is completely different, but you'll see that same maturity in those two numbers.
The 3 songs they released this holiday season are amazing! 💕 With all 3 they seam to fluidly weave in & out from lead then melting into background and back up to the lead again! Just amazing!
Not sure he was looping. I do know when we saw his foot touch the pedal, his electronic cello switched from a standard cello sound to an electric guitar/cello.
@fairylullaby77 could have swore I read or saw in an interview snippet that he did a bit of looping. No doubt he was working the cello sounds as well. He has some music on his channel where he had the same foot pedal set up and is definitely looping with it.
You've reacted to mostly older Pentatonix. They are all around 30 now and have definitely matured, in experience and musicianship. They work on their craft -- vocal training, dance training, directing and production. It probably also helps that they were able to get back to touring last year, spending more than four months doing dozens of concerts all over the world. Nothing tightens up a group more than touring together.
I couldn't think they could get any better, but they have. Matured and stretching out their vocals. I'm so glad that Matt and Kevin are able to showcase their skills more now these days. Check out Oh Holy night and Christmas time mash up. Both Matt and Kevin shine in both. Tyty for the great reaction ❤❤🎉
While this is a good example of how far they've come, what really shows it is their newest release, o holy Night. Many people find it to be the best version of the song and several people think it may be the best thing they've done.
Thank you for requesting this one, Jamie!! Loved the reaction! And yes, this is up there as one of their absolute best. They really outdid themselves with this album.
I've been waiting for your reaction to this one. Just what I expected. They have matured SO MUCH over the past 10 to15 years. and KEVIN. OMG, you can't say enough of how impressive he is on that cello. He NEVER disappoints.
If this is only the 5th reaction you've done for PTX....you have SO MANY more "Looks" ahead of you. 13 years worth of different looks. So much fun & good music & maturing of natural talent lies ahead. It's a great ride in and around the PTX rabbit hole.
Great reaction. I'm glad you watched Seal first. PTX is more mature, more comfortable in their talent, and Matt...Matt has come into his own on this album. It's a beautiful and compelling performance.
I love this! I completely agree with your assessment of the overall look/feel. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch them get to this point. I mean, wow. Their commitment to growth and evolution in both their music and how they present it to the world is 💯 a big part of their longevity. Not to mention it’s absolute 🔥!
They’ve all matured personally and vocally. All but Mitch have got married in the last bunch of years, and 2 of them (Kirsty and Kevin) have kids. That brings so much more to each persons voice. More depth.
Hard to believe that there was any space for them to get better, but I think they have too. There’s been an increase in power and passion since the pandemic break, maybe because they have matured or maybe because they just missed performing so much. They tend to tour and work incessantly when conditions allow. For more of their recent work, check out their original I Rise (lyric video), their cover of Creep from The Masked Singer reveal show (they came in third) and their new take on O Holy Night from this year’s Christmas album. You may also enjoy Recording Evergreen, a mini-doc that shows how they work in the studio. It includes a segment on Kevin’s percussion efforts and how some of that happens. I loved your reaction, so thanks. Peace …
The last few years they have definitely reached a new level. They were always amazing but they have matured a lot. Something worth looking into it the recording of their Evergreen album
Very dramatic performance. I think the way the cello was played in this created a different kind of tone. Nice reinvention of this power ballad. Thanks for all the wonderful variety on your channel AR! ❤
Well, the Evolution of Michael Jackson was a long time ago. They have definitely evolved themselves and their voices have matured a lot. This was a phenomenal version of this song, and I saw them do it live in concert in early December. Each time they do it live, it’s just a teeny bit different. Love it!!!
They’ve perfected the original “a cappella” musical performances and have matured into their next stage.. how to take their musical perfection to the next level.. one can only imagine how stellar their next incarnation will be!
Wonderful choice, Jamie! I always get pumped watching this one! Super pumped watching your reaction! Love your appreciation for the stuff you love and connect with! Always learn something in your reactions! Thanks for this!
What you heard may have been prerecorded in Kevin’s looping equipment. It appears that he has a pedal setup in front of him. I know there’s one point where I hear more cello than is happening. It’d be interesting to learn what he was looping and what was live.
I've listened to them for forever now. Though I was still late buy they still surprised me when I listen to them. That much talent in 1 group should be illegal
Love this version... will be following fir more pentatonix reactions.. ❤ A good one to checj out is Kevin and Matt doing dance of the sugar plum fairy live on stage.. its epic x
✨Happy New Year ✨ LOVED this reaction! Love hearing your insight on beatboxing, which helps demonstrate how Kevin can help make such full instrumental sounds. I think Matt’s bass with bass drops were insane in this one, giving a dub step feel, along with Kirstin, Mitch and Scott’s “cascade-like” runs and vocal backings to give such a full range and sound. It was next step innovative for them. Can’t wait for more from them with this new style… I also loved your reaction with your friend in America to Johnny Cash’s Hurt. I just started watching his reactions and then you were on there and I was so confused 😂 but loved it!
I’ve seen 100s of their songs and this is my favorite- possibly tied with their new MV for O Holy Night which you should do as well. Even though Christmas is over.
While I love and appreciate their older works, their sound has matured so much it is amazing. I saw them in concert for the 5th time last month. It never gets old.
I think there were a couple of additions in post. Yes, I heard the extra track too. I also heard some violin hits that were added in post. And I'm GLAD they're adding stuff and getting that "polish" in post. It makes their sound more refined and it's part of their creative process.
They were Babytonix when they recorded the evolution of Michael Jackson. This is called growth and maturity. They are grown men and woman, now. Watch out world!
Oh, sometimes i can't even listen to their older songs unless it's a recent performance because they are so much better now. And they were excellent then, but that just shows how dedicated they are to the craft. I've seen them live about 11 times since they formed and their arrangements have become much more full less exposed . Not only have their individual voices improved immensely, but They have really mastheir arrangements to take advantage of each member's strength and add that to the group performance is a whole. You really enjoy this performance more than the others. Because pentatonix is that much better. And this was a great video for you to see their progress 5:50
Hey Jamie Yeah, Ptx does use the occasional clap track for live performances. They’re try to get the right sound and hand claps are difficult to mic. I did notice a string track, just a couple notes, in the chorus. It was probably along the lines of a sample, played through the machine on the floor. Thought it was a little weird, but you can’t argue the results. One of my favorites as well. Thanks for sharing
Kirstie - "All right boys...voices up"...Mitch - "Listen to this...... LoOove remains".......MITCHSLAP!! Scott - Blue Eyed Soul Dragon Drive-by Matt - Oh yeah.... Falsetto from a Bass Kevin - "Hold my beer...... BaaaaBYYYYYY!!!!"......Olusolagasm
They have no egos when it comes to making theiir songs the best. Kevin has a pedal on the cello to create a guitar sound. The drum sound is Kevin only. I knew you would love this version.
Loved your reaction. Please react to O Holy Night soon instead of waiting for next Christmas. It is a masterpiece. This and O Holy Night are my top 2 favorite PTX songs.
They are ten years older than some of the others you listened to. You really should listen to one or two of their Christmas songs - try The First Noel for gorgeous vocals and then Oh Holy Night for epic. ruclips.net/video/0u5UvnKlCTA/видео.htmlsi=4D8qOy5hDPjLrXG_ ruclips.net/video/51OSYURT-Z8/видео.htmlsi=tecW_xvJpl_iBmF9
I don't know, this one didn't do it for me as much as their earlier work. It sounds -overconfident-. From time to time it sounded more cacophonous than harmonious, like their voices were competing with each other. Never before seen a work of theirs that left me with this feeling before.

They've matured vocally. And we all can hear it.
And they’ve matured in general as well as vocally.
What I like about that performance is that it doesn't seem rehearsed. It's as though they just walked on set, moved around as they saw fit and just let it all out !!! Perfection 🥰
Perfectonix❤

How dare Kevin hit a note like that and just slide right back into beatboxing like it's butter❔❓ I call that unfair❕❗

Even though Christmas is over by now
That arrangement is just stunning
Yes pleaseeeee!!!
The 3 songs they released this holiday season are amazing! 💕 With all 3 they seam to fluidly weave in & out from lead then melting into background and back up to the lead again! Just amazing!
Kevin was doing some looping with the pedals by his feet. Oh Holy Night is just incredible! Thanks for this reaction!
Not sure he was looping. I do know when we saw his foot touch the pedal, his electronic cello switched from a standard cello sound to an electric guitar/cello.

Feels like we’re entering the frontman Matt era and I’m here for it! tbh, I’m here for any direction PTX takes us 🔥🤘

YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT THEIR NEWEST VERSION OF O HOLY NIGHT, YOU WILL BE MINDBLOWN FOR SURE. YOUR FUN FROM GREECE.

It's PTX, all grown up with increased range, technique, craftsmanship and their energy is palpable as you watch them.
🩶🧡💚💙❤️

❤ not heard this song in FOREVER! The Seal one, loved this version ❤
They’ve all matured personally and vocally. All but Mitch have got married in the last bunch of years, and 2 of them (Kirsty and Kevin) have kids. That brings so much more to each persons voice. More depth.

Thought you explained it perfectly. Great reaction as always. Don't listen to them like that but from what I've heard this is my favorite too
While I love and appreciate their older works, their sound has matured so much it is amazing. I saw them in concert for the 5th time last month. It never gets old.

This Pentatonix performance was recorded live by VEVO.
@@vidsorama2 sure, but “live” doesn’t mean “no postprocessing.”. Just like “Gold” and “Havana” - both live with postprocessing.
I'm here for the PTX, lol. I love Scott's part in this song. Love your reactions to them. Happy New Year!
Maturity.... They just keep getting better with time

Love this upgrade, and yes, it's PERFECTION!! I am hoping you do their live VEVO version of Pure Imagination/Christmastime is Here.
I’m so excited for what’s to come this year! This was an epic cover of an iconic song!
I appreciate your giving us some lessons in beatboxing. Kevin is my favorite PTXer and it's been a mystery how he does what he does.
Check out Prayers for this world, it is phenomenal!
Thanks 😊!
This was live baby!!!😊
You need to check out Kevin doing a cover of “Down”. His talent shows through. 🌺
You need to check out “Love Again”. Kevin and Mitch kill it. 🌺
Kevin is playing the Cello and beat boxing (Cello-boxing). He spent 18 months in China learning how to do this!
check out the sugar plum fairy reimagined. featured Kenvin and Matt
You got to check out Amazing Grace, and The Prayer. Powerful
PTX has been using more layers in their more recent albums.
Man, you make beatboxing look/sound easy, meanwhile i can barely do a kick and hihat xD
Yay excited for this ☺️🥳
Check out their cover of Radioheads "Creep"
Live on AGT or studio version, this song has instruments... it's stunning!
PTX... All grown up!!!
Wait for it....
Of course as the have gotten older they are maturing and usually you get better with experience if great talent is present.
Here it comes...
Hey Anthony! Happy New Year!
It seems to me that their voices are maturing. If you want to see that same feeling listen to oh holy night by ptx.
Do O Holy Night is amazing
This is soo good❤😊
This is a live studio performance.
❤
I love Seal but they slayed this song. So much better than Seals version.
PTX all grown up!
PTX🔥🤘
⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡⚡
Didn't it just!
You need your listen to the VEVO live version of O Holy Night
Mitch says Kevin has the highest voice.
Another upgrade...
Does it get any better?

React tk d day album
The songs are dated so you may see an older video and not know it.
Mitch is sexy
Nope. These guys are from the city I’m from. Very talented. But they ruined this song.
