The very tail end of the mechanical classics and the end of the discreet electronic toys, soon to be replaced by the IC electronic toys to be soon replaced by the surface mount and microprocessor toys. What a world.
Hello my friend, I need your help, since I can't get the motors on the legs to work. The one on the head worked with cleaning and alcohol, but I can't get the others to work. Do you know what it could be and where I should rule out possible solutions?
Have you tried removing the wires to the leg motors and powering them with external 3 volt battery pack? That way you will know if it is a problem with the robots motor drive circuit or the motors.
I originally had this as a kid ❤ loved it ❤😢sad idk what happened to it 😢
Well the good news is you can probably find one on Ebay, the bad news is you will have to repair it most likely.
That’s enough of that noise . Thanks John
Surprising amount of tech in that little thing.
It is crazy full of discreet electronics.
I had one of those years ago.
Loved it..
thats cool choosing direction with his head .
Very cool R2D2 robot awesome thanks John
This was a favorite of mine as a child. I'll help you fish out that antenna next time I'm up that way John :)
I taped a magnet on the end of a yard stick and got it first try.
Nice! I've never seen one of these.
Now you have.
That’s amazing man! I hope my collection is like yours one day! Gotta visit the Hut sometime!
The sounds are like an actual R2D2! Interesting this was sold when there was still some classic Horikawas being sold

Hope the antenna's magnetic!
My R2 made tweedle-eedle noises, not unlike the birdie sounds my chunky Star Trek Phaser made...!
Yes I fished it out with a magnet on the end of a stick.

May I ask, where are you finding the 8 tooth gears?
Ebay and Amazon have sellers from time to time that sell assorted plastic gear bags. I buy them and sort through them, the bag up the different gears.
@@Robothut Thank you.
