Still driving my 2014 SE 1.8 w/roof bought new, currently 162,216 miles. Runs great ZERO squeaks or rattles. 5k oil change intervals, use BG products. Most reliable well screwed together car I've owned in my 66 years, and I've owned Honda Pilot, Ford Explorer, Toyota Celica, 2011 GTI (Made in Germany) . Just sayin......made in Chattanooga Tenn, USA
Thanks for the video, Mike. I just leased this car last month and learned a couple things about it from your video. From a driving perspective, the car performs much like a V6 engine in sport mode and in regular drive, is faster to accelerate than any non-turbo 4 cylinder I have ever driven. It's a lot of fun, great handling, very comfortable, and has a great sound system. Best mpg I've had was about 32 city and 40 hwy with the 6 speed transmission; average for both is about 4 mpg less than best. The other thing I like about this car is how simple and tight the car in almost every aspect. VW has designed the car to center around performance and from my experience, is better than others in its class. I highly recommend this vehicle for those who don't have the money for a BMW but find the driving experience of Japanese cars, at best, forgettable and want something to look forward to driving.
I have this car in white same year but the Wolfesburg edition and I love it. It has great gas milk eve and a huge gas tank. Love the feel of it when it drives. Also the sound system in this car is awesome!
If you already own this car do yourself a favor and get OBD Eleven and an APR tune, you will not be disappointed. OBD Eleven can unlock some features you wouldn't even think was in the car, my favorite roll down all the windows with the key fob.
I LOVE this thing. It’s the surprise of the power that gets you when you drive this thing because it’s quiet, comfortable, has a massive trunk, and it’s very spacious inside. So you’re simply not ready for the SAVAGERY when you put your foot down. That TSI engine is CRAZY responsive because it spools up from idle to the redline, IN-STANT-LY. I’ve fallen in love with it. The only problem is is that my parents haven’t insured me on it so I can’t drive it daily.
That engine on a nice cool morning or evening, obviously A/C off, it's pretty peppy, even with the Passat being a heavy car. Imagine that motor but tuned to 240hp and 270 lb torque. I plan on doing that in the near future ;).
I own this vehicle. It has some interesting flaws in it. The mileage is amazing, approaching 30 mpg. What I don't like is that it doesn't have navigation. The mirrors are not heated. The rear view mirror is not automatic dimming. The drive train is front wheel drive only. What does the controls at the end and bottom edge of the wiper control do? Has an amazing use of interior space. Can the fob be programmed to open front doors only or just the driver's door? Just thinking for $45,000 new, this should have many standard options that passenger vehicles have too. Thank you for your thorough tour.
Bought this year and trim level in 2016. 11k miles, still had the new smell for $17000.00. no more than $24500.00 new. Also, in my mixed 40 mile commute, I often exceed 40 mpg.
@@carameltones1 Some kind of exclusive "Passat B6" model , something from B6, but looks like "Phaeton". Basically u can order your custom "Phaeton" in 2020 if u have money. Me myself waiting for releasing my projects and I am thinking about something exclusive for about 20-30k , possible "Phaeton"
My Passat does not let me lock the door from the inside door when I’m leaving the vehicle. I am only able to lock the car from the key button as I’m walking away. Is this with all Passats or only mine?
Literally 98% the same as my car. Same motor transmission infotainment and interior. Only differences are the exterior color is white (mine is a dark blue), and the steering wheel has a smooth texture where mine does not. Also mine isn't a limited. Not sure why they slapped a limited sticker on it. Doesn't really do anything. I love my car. Smooth riding, comfortable, roomy, and the 1.8T gets excellent fuel mileage. Almost 40mpg on the highway with mine! Only complaints I have is the "no key" error that appears now and then, and the A/C compressor not working as well in the extreme heat and I've had to get it replaced twice, which is common in most Volkswagens. Other than that, I'm keeping mine til it can't run anymore.
I own this car and am having trouble connecting to Bluetooth... any suggestions? I’ve unplugged and replugged in the box under the passenger seat and my phone still won’t pick it up. I can’t seem to find a Bluetooth button in the car either. On my steering wheel I only have buttons on the left side none on right
I have a 2015 Passat Limited edition and want to program the unlock to open all doors, and other settings but I can't figure out how to get into the settings menu. The quick start guide refers to a steering wheel button with a menu symbol but mine does not have that (its a forward backward for the stereo).Could you please help me to get into settings? Thank you in advance!
Tire monitor didn't come on mine I don't think. The center screen is used mostly for rear view camera and audio on this trim so for instance satellite radio, cds , Bluetooth, etc. which can partially be controlled on the steering wheel such as volume, skipping tracks, and voice dialing or texting numbers. There's a display next to the fixed speedometer (in the middle) that you can scroll through other info using the up/down button on the tip of the wiper blade stick. The options I can recall which show on the screen are speed, miles per gallon measured in real time, mpg for your trip distance (such as since the car has been turned on. It will reset if you leave the car off for a while like overnight), external temperature, time, and maybe one more I'm forgetting.
+brockjohnson100 Well, is there anything you wish the car would have? I'm an Uber Driver, and I also do Finance, and I'm looking for a comfortable car, that ha some fun features, and I think the Passat is the one, I will be financing the car though, no lease.
+RAOM RAOM in terms of comfort, I love the automatic adjustable lumbar support. I took the guys out for the night (my buddies and I are all over six feet tall) and I received nothing but comments on space and comfort. I've taken the car for a 3 hour drive so far and didn't ache afterwards like I did in Japanese cars like Mazda 6 or camry; The seats are firm and offer support instead if being too cushy. Now, to things I'd change: 1. I love this car and I won't tire you with more ranting on that matter. As such, I can only really think of what other people may want more of. The car is very simple and solid. The Japanese cars I have seen have too many buttons for my liking that it looks like a cock pit. However, if you don't like to scroll through stuff, that might detract from what you enjoy with the passat. 2. I would like seat coolers over warmers. 3. I'd like maybe 2 inches more headroom (I'm 6'5 which can be difficult to accommodate in a sedan). Currently I have about an inch or two of headroom fully upright and seat closest to the floor. 4. I wish I knew more or they had more regarding the SD card because it doesn't appear to have a enough importance to be an additional thing on the car. 5. Maybe there is a way that I don't know, but I had trouble disconnecting friend's phones from the car's Bluetooth so if I go to my friends house and wait for them, it will automatically connect to their phone if they're in range even if I've been playing radio before I arrived. Only way I figured to switch it off is my friend forgetting the connection on their phone. 6. I would like a foot sensor to open the trunk. 7. Option to engage 4 wheel drive I'm having trouble thinking of things that I really wish it had or didn't have.
Mine estimates just under 500 but I've gotten much better than that. As with other cars, sitting in 6th gear just around 45-50 mph will yield a higher mpg rating.
+RAOM RAOM not a bad deal at all. I just saw that the limited edition is now for lease for 189/month as opposed to the asking price of 219 when I signed for mine a little over a month ago. Now is the time to buy!
Just bought a 2015 unlimited Passat in Medford Oregon. One thing Mike maybe mention the price. If you did I just mentioned it. Thanks for the walk around I did learn some stuff.

Never ever buy this car because I found a video on RUclips where is said these Volkswagen Passat are very crappy cars for the love of God never buy these cars very crappy and they even had the worst engine it cost like $40,000 to replace when something breaks very expensive
Dude you are blatantly representing faux leather seats as "leather". It is a completely inorganic product having nothing to do with leather. That is called lying.
+beatsByZlaya What incentive do I have to lie? I don't sell cars and I don't work for any dealership... I am not "representing" anything! You can lock the trunk, but if you fold down the back seats youll have access to the trunk. Did VW not think this true?!
Through*
You need access to the trunk to fold down the seats.
