My channel turned three years old in October last year, but today is the third anniversary of the very first ASMR video I uploaded. So here is something a little bit different to mark the occasion. :0)
RUclipsr, 'Sir Sebastian', requested this chocolate video, which got me to thinking, "there just aren't enough chocolate ASMR videos out there!" Let's change that with 'The Chocolate Challenge'.
Rules:
1. Create a video with a theme of chocolate. It can be anything... a visual video, just audio, a whisper, etc. It just has to be focused on chocolate, and ASMR.
2. Upload your video, then copy and paste the link of your video in a private message to me and I will post your link in this box, above. For some reason, RUclips is automatically removing video links people are leaving in the comments so you will need to send me the link please!
3. Use the tag [SOUNDsculptures Chocolate Challenge] somewhere in your video title.
4. Cut-off date is 2nd February, 2014.

Prizes:
Everyone who enters will have their name put into a raffle draw. I will film this, unedited. The first five names to be pulled out will be sent a selection of British chocolate biscuits. The very FIRST name to be pulled out will also win a copy of the book 'Chocolate Wars: From Cadbury to Kraft: 200 years of Sweet Success and Bitter Rivalry' by Deborah Cadbury.
I will send to anywhere in the world, so everyone is free to enter.
Stuck for video ideas? How about showing us your favourite chocolate bars. How many chocolate bars can you buy within a small budget, etc? Or a whisper video reminiscing on your favourite chocolate bars that are no longer! Or... a history of chocolate. What about your least favourite bars, and why? Did you ever read any books on chocolate? Roald Dahl? Joanne Harris? What do you think about the two different Willy Wonka films? Which country has the tastiest chocolate? You could even make something with chocolate. Anything at all, you decide! It just has to be... CHOCOLATE! :) (and ASMR!)

Another beautiful video. I love what you do to the Kit Kat. It makes the candy bar look like a bar of pure silver with the logo pressed into the foil, then you slice open the foil. That sounds gives me such ASMR. I don't know most of these chocolate bars, and I'm noticing how delightful the wrapping is, especially of the Club and Penguin bars. Thank you! The Kit Kat has been packaged like that for as long as I can remember. Even as a young child, half the fun was running a fingernail down the middle of the foil to break it! I'm glad you liked the packaging of the others too. The Penguin wrapper changes quite frequently; they never used to be quite as vibrant as now. The Club wrapper feels as though it hasn't changed for 30 years, but I'm sure it probably has! Hope you will consider the challenge, I loved your entry for the Matchbox Challenge that I ran all that time ago. :)
Those are some of the most serious looking Kit-Kats I have ever laid eyes on!

***** I looked on wikipedia and found out that Rowntree, the original makers of KitKat, licensed Hershey to distribute in the US when they went international so they wouldn't have to compete. Then, a good time later, Nestle bought them out and got the international distribution rights for everywhere but the USA. And yeah, I've heard a lot of people from different countries tell me Hershey's isn't real chocolate or that it's gross haha. I've always liked Hershey and never liked the taste of Nestle chocolate, but I don't think anything can best Cadbury!
I always knew that Kit Kat's had British origins. It's a British Invasion I never resisted.

There's a British goods store in my State that sells digestives. I don't remember the brand, but they're coated in chocolate and they melt in your mouth. Every time we go down to Lewes, we get some along with a jar of Gooseberries.
Ah, yes they sound a lot like McVitie's Digestive Biscuits. I have not had the ones with chocolate on them for years but now you have me thinking of them!

Great video as always :) Classic bars are the best! I've had a peculiar way of eating them since I was a kid, which must be followed at all times. I have to separate the two halves and eat the one without the cream first, then scrape the cream off the remaining half and eat that, followed by the last biscuity bit. Yeah, I'm weird :)
Thank you, and that is not weird at all! I admit I don't eat them in any particular way other than straight down the gullet (!) but I think a lot of people eat certain things in specific ways. It's like Custard Creams, I have known so many people who eat those in the way you have described. :)

I love penguin bars! Can't get them here in the US, so sad.
Interesting choice of biscuits.......being a self labeled biscuit connoisseur I'd not actually consider a twix a biscuit, this has more to do with the placement of them in supermarkets as opposed to their ingredients, they're always right next to the mars bars in the chocolate isle. Also I see you chose to try my arch nemesis.....the Wagon Wheel.....what were your thoughts on it?
Yes, you're right, the Twix is a kind of odd-one-out isn't it. I'm not sure that they were always alongside Mars bars, but I certainly know what you mean and I think they might be made by the same company Masterfoods (could be wrong, haven't checked). Anyway, aside from the packaging and placement, these still scream 'chocolate biscuit!' to me! They are unlike a chocolate bar. Perhaps Twix are a hybrid of the two. Funnily enough, I really don't like Wagon Wheels. Never have. Something about the flavour of the chocolate and I remember when they rocked up on the supermarket shelves, it felt so foreign to what a biscuit should be. But I thought I was in the minority and they are an interesting shape and texture to make a video with. So, why d'ya hate them?! And as a biscuit connoisseur, what are your favourites? I tried really hard to find Viscounts, but I think they've stopped producing them. There were so many other great ones I left out too. And also this video has saddened me to learn that biscuits I thought were vegetarian are not! :'(
***** I just think wagon wheels are like a plastic chocolate biscuit, they have a horrible taste and texture. As far as my favourites go......where do I start?? Foxes by far are the best brand and I'm particularly fond of their cream crunch's (especially their new ginger cream crunch). I also really like any form of shortbread....the crumblier the better!! For an everyday dunker I like chocolate hobnobs and custard creams and for something different I like Jammy Dodgers.

Ahh, nice biscuit choices! For me, a dunker can't have a filling or a topping, so I like plain digestives, shortcake, rich tea biscuits. I actually haven't had a custard cream or jammy dodger for years and years. You've made me hungry for them! Also, I have been hankering after the taste of hobnobs for the past month and keep forgetting to get some. I will have to remedy this! :) (I agree about Wagon Wheels!)

Oh, you know it! I actually ate the Classic bar because they are hard to resist. I don't generally touch chocolate like that because it's in the wrapper, and I forgot how quickly it melts!
No, not all of them! Just the Classic bar at the beginning! The rest of the biscuits were put in a sandwich bag, which I haven't yet eaten. My camera is just overhead.

The KitKats wrapper design is different in the US. Wonder how come!
It has been that way for as long as I can remember. I have always opened them by slicing down the centre of the foil with my fingernail. I think most people do that over here, which is probably why they've kept it that way all these years. They're very tactile, and they know that's a very powerful marketing tool!

Whoa! What? I thought Hershey bought the KitKat name. Did Nestle get the rights to distribute in the UK or something?
Nestlé have been manufacturing KitKats for as long as I can remember, I think. I have a strong feeling that the Hershey version will taste very, very different from our version, because Hershey chocolate is not at all like chocolate here.

weird, i've never seen chocolate wrappers like that where there are individual wrapped bars inside it.
Are you in the US? Over here (UK) it's very common to buy biscuit bars in multipacks. Same goes for crisps (chips), they sell them in multipacks in supermarkets.
i'm in australia. i'd of thought the uk would somewhat be similar to us. i'll have to look harder next time i go to the supermarket.
That's strange, I would have also expected it to be similar. I don't know when they were first introduced but I remember multipacks all my life, and I'm in my 30's.
