Watching the waste collection is so satisfying. Just got disrupted by seeing the (plastic) balloons at the concert 😬
Every day as I am walking the dog I pick up some sort of plastic in the gutters of the street, been doing this for years . If everyone just took the time to pick up just one thing it could make a difference. Remember most trash on the streets ends up in the ocean.

Kudos to Coldplay and @TheOceanCleanup. They're really doing God's work. I hope this inspires other bands, MNCs and governments to invest in the building and rollout of Interceptor boats around the world.
Totally amazing and so worthwhile. But what would be even better is educating the people in these countries to STOP throwing garbage in their rivers. Surely they have some thoughts about that?

Um who or what is Coldplay?
Are there any programs in place to stop this horrible garbage problem from the local source it comes from?
I really wish this channel would focus more on what is being done to implement a sanitation system to all these areas where nothing more than picking up somebody's mess is being done. You need a longer term solution. Are you working with these local governments?
Starting some sort of village / local garbage collection system rather than people simply treating the river as a trash dumpster. You are not teaching anybody to fish - so to speak - only handing out one fish a day.
Need to empower / educate local population to solve the problem before it starts.
If indeed these items are being done - they need to be discussed / highlighted on this channel.
They are reaching out! There are more in-depth videos on their channel.
But it is not easy, there's many different parties involved, people to be educated and/or convinced to change, habits to be changed, funding to be acquired. Definitely preventing pollution in the first place is the long-term goal - and it is being worked on. So far they still do everything they can in the status quo! Which is highly admirable imho! Still way better filtering the plastic out of the rivers, before it enters the ocean. Pollution of land/rivers -> rivers being polluted leading to the ocean-> oceans being polluted. So they're actually working on an upper level already. This whole task is a marathon, not a sprint.
I do agree, they are doing a fantastic job at cleanup. Just wish they would mention the long term solution more in each video they make. At least a mention that they are working w/locals on a longer term fix. I am thrilled that a viable cleanup project is underway, both rivers and ocean. So glad to see this working. @@el_micha
@@trade_design23 I think it's hard to state it in every video. There is just so much content you can pack into one video. And probably a lot of viewers don't bother to watch longer videos or at least finish watching them while being focused. On the website TOC explains in the FAQ that while they still try to work on the origins of the pollution they still want to make the biggest impact they can make as a technology-driven company. This means focusing on cleaning up what's already there in the GPGP. Plus on top starting cleaning the rivers before they reach into the oceans…

Please don't use balloons in your concerts Coldplay, they evade the whole interceptor system by flying right into the ocean and choking the dolphins directly.
Those balloons are heavier than air balloons, not helium balloons.
That's stupid. There is nothing you will be able to do to stop the destruction of the earth and everything in it. There is only One who will put an end to this system of things, Almighty Jehovah God. Man is only the breath in his nostrils.. why should you take man into account? They have no power, no authority, no understanding.
