Episode 2: Reunion and Turnabout
Phoenix heads to Maya's hometown of Kurain Village only to be involved in yet another murder and Maya Fey is the suspect. Phoenix takes the case and faces off against another von Karma but this time... it's going to get very very painful.
Yeah, about the whipping... shouldn't Franziska be placed on trial for deliberate bodily assault on not only a lawyer, but a judge, which would put her in prison for up to five years?

I actually really like Mimi Miney. She's one of the only killers in this series I really sympathize with.

I hear you. After this episode I really felt sorry for Mimi.
In retrospect, all of this wouldn't have happened of Mr Grey handled Mimi Miney much more gentle. The fact that Mr Grey pushed Mimi so hard caused the mishap that killed 14 patients and basically ruined her life. She almost got away with it from the accident but Phoenix has shown the true face of Mimi Miney in order to save Maya. I really think this case is a really sad story for that Mimi, trying to save her own face from history and trying to start afresh, but alas, had to kill Mr Grey and frame Maya for it.
Exactly. It is Grey's fault. He is indirectly responsible for the incident. I'm more surprised that no one bothered to bring up the gun again.

Well, just be glad it's only first degree burns. It's the fact he took a 40 foot drop into a rushing river in the middle of winter after all that that scared me half to death.

When we finally figure out she's really Mimi she just confessed and the extremely sad music starts playing it's kinda heart breaking actually
That beret has been pulled, chewed, stretched, etc. so much at this point, I'm surprised it's still in one piece.
@AdvertChild98 So what happened was: Morgan made Phoenix and Lotta leave, wiped the gun of fingerprints, then put the gun in the dead body's hand, opened the box and put it in Maya's hand (without getting her own fingerprints on it), did the clothes-change thing, and moved the box into the other room, all in that limited amount of time. That's impressive enough to deserve mention in the courtroom, especially with that uninspired judge. That's why I think the writers overlooked it.
At last.....
Maya, you're saved again. Two cases you were involved, only one defense attorney will help you.
Mimi was the biggest victim of this incident, that's why I feel sorry for her. Anyone else?

@AZNPride2k11 Well that could be explained in two possibilities: 1) that could easily be framed by Maya's aunt who sent every one out in the room and then erased Mimi's fingerprints but left the sleeping Maya's fingerprints on the murder weapon instead.2) at that time Maya was summoning spirit, then her body was thought to be taken over by Mimi but apparently that doesn't excuse her from her body that was used to commit murder. Therefore, von Karma and the police arrested Maya, not Ini/Mimi
Phoenix was sent flying by a car and crashed into a mailbox I think... only sprain his ankle... and is knocked out by a whip...

Well, they had to convict SOMEONE. And dead people can't exactly be sent to living jail. Plus, it could have been Maya's fault for agreeing to channel that spirit in the first place.

And so... the case of the murder of Doctor Grey, as well as the truth behind the car accident that year ago has been brought to light. Mimi, who had to steal her dead sister's face to lead a decent life after she had such a terrible tragedy as a nurse, finally got to confess her sins, and get it off her chest. Morgan's plot to dethrone the main part of the Fey family for her own selfish gains has been stopped, and another person has been declared innocent. The way things should really go.
I think all the humiliation Edgeworth and co puts her through was more than enough punishment for those whips...

I wanted to see, when Edgeworth was Facing Fran, if she tried to whip him, he'd just catch the whip, and drop it. Like if she tried multiple times to whip him, he'd just catch it every time.

I think the problem here is not so much the reality, but what holds up the facts. Phoenix is trying to prove that Maya had no affiliation with the murder at all, while Von Karma is trying to prove that she did, and scientifically speaking, the only explanation within that line of thinking was that she consciously stabbed and shot the victim.

@TheOpinionatedPerson I think it would be a novice mistake if Ini and Morgan allowed Ini's fingerprints left on the muder weapon. As we can see this is a highly premedidated murder. The game creator probably didn't want this mentioned because it would not be make sense.

@TheOpinionatedPerson Even if Phoenix didn't explain every little detail, his narrative is still good enough to lead us 2 picture & find the answers in our head. Ini's fingerprints were wiped off, that's the only explanation. Didn't Phoenix have said Morgan sent everyone out at that time? So the ppl who could've done it are the ppl who were left in the crime scene -Morgan & Ini. Franziska knew Ini's involvement from the very beginning, which explains why she refused 2 present Lotta's 2nd photo.

Feel sorry for the real Ini Miney. If Mimi had asked for a channelling of Ini, her feelings could have been soothed, as she would be able to talk to her sister.
I suspect that although the real Ini said "like", I doubt she said it as often as Mimi-Ini does. Mimi is impersonating her sister and thus exaggerating her mannerisms.

Whenever Maya channels a spirit, her physical appearance changes into that of the spirit she's channeling (example: she gets big boobs when channeling Mia XD).
So it's only logical if she looked nothing like she usually does. Plus, Ini looks a little like Mimi (the person she was supposed to be channeling).

There's no need for autpsy, it wasn't a murder, and she died right in the car accident, so the hospital could not have raised that point, either.

You may have already figured it out by now, but the reason Maya would've guilty is just like why Mimi would've been guilty for her malpractice. Because of not doing her job, someone gets killed.
