The baby is chirping and complaining that is not a fear or dspirate cry. It will do her good to be allowed to stay alone for a few minutes. Any baby , if held all the time, will never learn to function normally.
KweKanata These are not human babies! Though i agree that this baby is not really in any real distress and will not suffer any lasting harm the whole "you cannot hold them the whole time or they will never learn to be on their own or independent" argument does not apply to baby macaques!! Baby macaques especially this young, instinctively cling to their mothers 24/7 except for very short periods of time in which they maybe sitting on the ground within her arms reach. By mom keeping her baby constantly with her and fulfilling its need to cling constantly to her it builds the baby's self confidence and prevents it from becoming fearful of the world and environment. They must be able to reach out away from mom and explore for a few mins at a time and then they will immediately turn and run back to mom for safety and reassurance. This is how they learn self confidence..when they walk off and then minutes later turn to run back to her and she is not there for them and if this continues to occur then it causes an infant to become fearful and stressed and instead of learning to NOT cling all the time it will cause the exact opposite for them..they will be so clingy that it interferes with their physical, social and mental developement!! This is the findings of experts who have been studying these animals for decades so I think they might know a thing or two abouti t

Not even a human baby. We all know what happens if from the start you stand around and hold them all the time where this is going to go I learned after my first one. I used to cry cuz he wouldn't let me put him down.
That baby was Very Very precious looking when he started staring at the bug crawling across the Rock with his big eyes it was so so adorable!!

because it’s an infant. They still want the warmth and security from mom. It’s not always about nursing.
I think mother has her own life and also own time...She is still not far away from the baby...this is not bad...baby should also learn and try to be strong itself.
The Angkor youtubers aren't the only ones that like 'spinning drama' where there isn't any drama? This fellow was definitely NOT in any stress and so why would mom just 'jump and run'? Nothing like 'helicopter' mom's to make a wimpy kid.
I mean the title simply says it's a crying baby and the mom ignored it, which she did, for a little bit anyhow. Just like often happens with the Cambodian VOs, people seem to be making a big deal over nothing.

It is good sometimes for the moms to get a little time to themselves. so yes this can't hurt the baby! he needs to know this. It can be tiring for the mom to all the time carry him around, or also letting him suckle. 24/7. which can result in sore nipples! they also tend to bite on the nipple causing the mom discomfort!

These cute little babies throw a little fits and this is Mama's way of letting it know its place. Besides, mama needs to feed to nurse baby. Mama knew where baby was all the time and baby could also see Mama. Read up on these amazing creatures.

Ariel L I didn't say Mom wasn't allowed to eat without her baby being latched on or whatever. But most babies when they're away from Mom start to panic, even if the 2 are apart for only a minute or so. Even human babies are known 2 b the same way. I have 2 great-nieces, 3 and 4, that don't really like 2 b away from their Moms. (Give them 15 minutes and then they come outta their shell though)
