Hey guys I just want to comment on Thor's car sickness or motion sickness. In puppies, it can be caused because his internal ears are not yet fully developed. The parts of the ear that detect balance and communicate spacial orientation to Thor's puppy brain. He can outgrow this, BUT you must not travel with him for probably the next SIX MONTHS. If you repeatedly travel him, he may get "conditioned" to associating car travel = Thor pukes. So, leaving him with a sitter is a great idea as often as possible ❤. One last point is don't just drive home to the Veteranarian, or he will associate the ride with a stressful Vet visit. Sherlyn should say, very excitedly, "Thor, you want to go to the LAND" OR SAY "Let's go Home", repeatedly. Then, in the car, put Thor on Sherlyn's lap with his paws on the dashboard. Having his butt much lower than his head and his eyes forward, with the window open, can help counter negative effects of motion sickness. When you see a car pass and the dog has its head out the window, there is a reason for this Pup behavior. The wind on the outside blowing their outer ears around tells the brain to tell the inner ear, "we are traveling or running fast, even though our legs are not moving." So, positively reinforce the destination of the ride. "Let's go HOME Thor!!!!"

I think so too guys, you can move in before Christmas or better yet before Sherlyn's birthday. I agree, the brownish wood color make a good contrast to the overall white background. It's nice of you to remember the locals you met during Odette (who makes wood for a living) and support their work, very thoughtful and kind of you, Finn. That will be cool, spending your 1st Christmas in your new house, I can already feel your excitement. All looking good, fresh harvest fr the land (banana) and all others growing nicely. Thanks as always and have a happy weekend guys. God bless.

Your home is looking great! Finishes are the most important and usually take the most time - important not to rush, you are only doing this once. I love your home being up high and over looking - the view, nice breeze and with no mosquitoes is what I also want. Love the whole garden - being able to get fruit and others off your own land is the BEST. Gas stove and oven best choice - better cooking and doesn't interfere with your solar. Question - you mentioned getting quotes for your windows - I assume your build isn't including. What is included in your build - I'm looking to learn the process. I can FEEL the "excitement" being able to move-in prior to Christmas into the one room which shouldn't be an issue except for the windows??? I hope you both have a great day!

Finn, you should use tile adhesive for your tiles. We had experience from the Philippine contractor who did our flooring. He used tile cement when installing the tiles. Most of the tiles cracked and broken after several months after being installed. So, we changed using the tile adhesive without adding cement. It's expensive but worth it. This is just advice based on our experience.
Take care, and God bless you and Shirlyn.❤❤❤

Of course you can move as long as you can have the enclosures done first. The rest can be done while there. As a suggestion, please make sure that woods i.e. doors are treated before installing. Happy to see the 2nd banana harvest. But do you know that banana tree bear fruit only ones? So, right after you pick the fruit you have to cut it so that there is room for another young banana tree to grow. You will notice there are young ones beside the mature. Potatoes and yams are easy to grow with less maintenance. Excited to see how much vegetables and fruit bearing trees you can grow in your property.

Good luck with the move in and be close the fitt out. I think induction for cooking top it's free from your solar system.
With oven you can now get electric oven that can steam grill roast cook bread much the same as commercial Rational German oven used in restaurants but less cost lower electricity
If I was younger I would book on your boat maybe I can just not dive.
I was brought up at (vocation) Tairua on the Coromandel New Zealand so the ocean is in my blood

Exciting to see the construction entering a different phase; the finish details. Looking and feeling like a house, soon to be, home. Being able to move in before Christmas would be a wonderful gift, but don't rush it, the wait will be worth it, but I really hope it works out that you can get in before Christmas. Good idea to diversify with a gas stove/oven, assuring you'll always have a way to cook even if something should happen to the electric system.
I'm always fascinated by how fast everything grows there.

Stainless steel or white rails outperform glass in several aspects. Their durability is unmatched, proving resistant to the forces of typhoons and strong winds. Additionally, these materials require less cleaning and maintenance, offering both practicality and longevity. Moreover, the aesthetic appeal of stainless steel or white rails adds a touch of enduring beauty to any setting. 316-grade stainless is usually the best choice.

Let the Contractor perform rain simulation test by spraying water outside the windows. This is to ensure that windows are fully sealed. I have this nightmare until now and the only time you realize it when there is typhoon or amihan/habagat. Sakit sa ulo. 😔

You guys, make sure your converter panel can take on a generator as well... It will be a wise investment to get a 14K or larger Generator so that you will always have power to power up your battery walls and as well as run the house in auxiliary, our runs on multi-fuel, currently on 20 gallon propane tanks. Our Generator is a Khoeler and can power our whole home in case of emergency. We run it twice a month for maintenance purposes (keep it oiled) it's nice because we can repower our battery walls and charge the cars run the house on it and then when we kick back over to our main power (solar/battery) it will start the clock over for the next run. You guys are gonna be off-grid so make that investment. Looks great!!

Finn, I set tiles for years. In the Philippines they often make the mistake of starting on one side of the room and you end up with a skinny strip on one side of the room. The best look is to draw a centerline in the room and measure to see if the distance to the perimeter is less than one tile width and subtract half the distance to a tile so it's balanced. Also, align the tiles to run in line with the doorways.

Cable railing. Just make sure it does not rust. Tempered glass is too expensive. Also, need more vids of Jake and Thor.
